That yokocho looks great! Such great options all around, and the atmosphere itself helps guide you. 🤩 Enjoyed seeing Satoshi jiggle the egg atop the potato salad! 🍳🥔🤤
This was another great video, and everything looked so amazing. I saved this video for my upcoming trip to Japan in May of 2025. Keep up the great work, guys.
Fun food and drinks. Thanks for putting the words on screen, really helps. Sometimes I'll look something up to see if I can make at home. The pork wrapped ginger sounded delish. Great tip on the toilets (I'm always wondering). Hello from sunny Oregon, USA.
Hey, thanks for sharing. We’re at this place right now thanks to you guys. We’re at the Yakitori place. The brewery is sadly closed. We’re two guys from the states in Japan for four weeks. We started in Okinawa, then Osaka and Kyoto, and now Tokyo. We’re hitting a lot of places from your videos. We fly to Honolulu on Monday where we’ll continue seeking out your suggestions.
Thanks, guys, for all of your fun videos over the years. We are just now heading home from our first ever trip to your wonderful country! We especially loved Asakusa. When we told our rickshaw driver that we wanted to ride down Hoppy Street, they lighted in surprise and asked how we even knew of Hoppy Street! It’s actually because of you two!
Arigato gozaimasu for this video. We took your advice and visited Asakusa Yokocho for lunch today to escape the busy crowds of Senso-Ji. It was very quiet and the food was meccha oishi 🍛
This looks great! I haven't been back to Asakysa yet (Too much to do when we where there and I was a bit worried about the crowds around the temple) But definitey need to go back when I'm in town again. I will skip the shumai though, I hate coriander. But I love to try some of the craft beer. Shinton I will definitely visit. I love things that comes on sticks hahaha so easy to eat I love pork tongue. We had it in a yaki niku place. And yakitori always a good option. Shishito is one of my favourites. Ginko nuts have a nostalgic feel for me. It remembers me of autumn in Hikarigaoka park. People are gathering the nuts there to prepare at home. Saba never has been my favourite fish. Perhaps it's the fishyness. Here we have smoked mackerel it's uncommon to see fresh mackerel in the supermarket.
Greetings from Kyoto&welcome back Shinichi. Starting with a beer us great idea Satoshi & still super humid atm Thanks for ideas for my Tokyo visit from next week after Sapporo&looks yummo,🍻 thanks
love how big japan is even if you live there you would take many years.and always japanese food looks yumm. i also cut my sausage like octupus all the time. but temples in japan is so beautiful i wanna visit
Hi Tabi! Just found out your channel since im planning to go to japan next month, your vids are so entertaining and fun to watch! Any tips for a first timer in asakusa XD
Another cool yokocho to add to my list. Aside from the yummy food and beverages, the points you made about the yokocho, Shinichi, make it even more enticing. Thanks, guys! I love your Equality tee, Shinichi. I know attitudes toward LGBTIQA+ are loosening up in urban Japan, at least among young people, but I'm still always proud when either of you wear our family's colors. 💜💜🏳🌈😊
Impressed by your drinking acumen. Also loved the background music at around 13:00, love Vaundy and Chainsaw Man wwww. Subscribed. I'd move to Japan tomorrow if it was feasible.
Me, making my list for the eventual trip to Asakusa: "Oh! I have to try the octopus sausages!" "Wait. I have to try the omurice!" "Wait. I have to try the potato salad!" "Beni shoga wrapped in pork?!" "Yuzu daikon!" *sees Yakitori platter* "I'm going to run out of days before we run out of food." Many thanks, as always, for helping keep our motivation up to make this quest to Japan! ❤
Can't wait to try Yurayura next summer! Would you ever consider trying out Shinanoya in Gotanda? I heard they have super fresh and tasty chicken, but I want to hear what you think of it!
Hi my dear friends, I am new to your channel. I am one of your new followers. I happen to run across videos you did for spam. So I watched it and I will probably watch it a second time cause I wanna make sure I try to re-create some of those recipes, you guys shared great great Chelle
I love your shirt Shinichi. My mom was in a wheelchair so it warmed my heart to see the handicapped logo on there. She would have loved that shirt. All the food looked amazing especially the pork variety platter. Yum! I love beef tongue but I've never had pork. Would love to try it someday. And Satoshi you would have loved this place we had here (unfortunately it's gone now) it was called "World of beer." They had a bunch of beers on tap and you could go in and try samples of the beers. My friends and I went once and spent the whole night trying so many different beers. It was fun.🍻😊
The Japanese are in my estimation the most imaginative people on the planet, and the food is a prime example. How much I miss eating in Japan!! But I have to say that I do not enjoy so much eating indoors in modern buildings such as this one. It feels too much like a corporate "Depato" environment. I actually prefer the little old fashioned open street stalls (0:40) where you sit on stools elbow to elbow with other ravenous patrons with your back sprinkled with snow or rain and your face & chest baking from the charcoal grills, sipping hot tea or sake and eating Yakitori, Ramen, Okinomi Yaki or Oden. I love the contrast of hot & cold with the amazing deliciousness of the hot foods.
I remember when i used to carry scorpion on my chest pocket. We start by daring ourselves to show who is man enough and who sucks. I was glad i made it. As i grow up, i realize that our minds can really do wonders.
This Asakusa Yokocho, looks too commercial and new, going there you won’t get the real experience of a small izakaya..yakitori ya. Small, older such places can still be found around Japan. Here in Fukuoka…we have the best yakitori, always served on a plate of cabbage that is free! Avoid chain eateries. You’ll do well!!
Thanks for this review, Shinichi and Satoshi! I'm heading there in the next 2 days!
This series is a really very good installment, short, informative and good fun atmosphere 🤩😁
It’s so nice to see Tokyo videos again!!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and ASAKUSA!!!!!!

Alleys in Canada are VERY different from the ones in Japan. ;) Good choice, Satoshi. I'd like a beer right about now.

I wouldn't want the plight of the physically handicapped grouped in with those shoving sexual and communist teachings onto children.
@@HereForAStorm You're so brainwashed it's unreal

it seems ok for first time visitors, not everybody is confident enough to go to a small izakaya because of the languge barrier
Your ‘Shumai’ looks more like steamed GYOZA with lots of greens on it.
is he your boyfriend?
Yes, that is his life partner.
