There just simply aren't words to describe what feelings Elvis evokes to his fan. If you are not a fan, you simply haven't heard enough of him to make that determination. It's just indescribable, but if you are a fan...you get it. You feel it. There's just nothing else like him. The total package +1. Looks, charisma, swagger, coolness...the way he talks, the way he moves, the way he smiles. The way he connects with one and everyone at the same time. It's just something you have to experience to understand. I really enjoyed your reaction and your sincerity in it's effect. I've seen this performance literally hundreds of times. Still get goose bumps...

Totally agree with you...I'm 76 and I love RnR....and I love all the Originals who brought that incredible music to 11yo me in 1956 Glasgow, Scotland...to me they're ALL kings but Elvis is greater than just RnR...There's Elvis and then EVERYONE else...and I mean ALL other singers, he is totally unique...and as a fellow sufferer of depression I know what you mean...even altho I'm atheist his gospel singing brings me solace...it's not the song it's him singing it.that does it....best wishes......Saor Alba.

When I first saw one of his movies on tv I was hooked. His voice, the way he sings . He has so much range in his voice when he sings a song. So much style. He could sing any style of songs. His voice is golden. Nobody can match it.

Watching Elvis performances and listen to his music is mesmerising. I remember being a child and watching Elvis on tv. It was gorgeous! I forgot everything else and my focus was Elvis Presley.
I agree it is so important to create cozy moments when you are depressed. I myself need it. Winter depression is showering on me now. The sun is more distant and november is the worst month. It is not the weather. it is still warm here. Now in the morning quarter to eight is 6 plus degrees. I love what is happening in the nature. The weather is so powerful. I should go south just like the birds every year, and come back in the spring.

All I heard in my home as a child in St. Louis, MO was MOTOWN. And Elvis became a part of that. I am talking 1970 to 1982 when I lost my father. Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Chuck Berry, Temptations, Lionel Richie, Little Richard, OMG , , I could go on & on to Jackson 5 . . We also heard Patsy Cline, Buddy Holiday, Jerry Lee Lewis, BUT we never really heard Elvis or Dolly Pardon ANY bluegrass, Hank Williams, jr, etc unless on AM radio if your lucky, then KWK, K-SHE95 started taking requests. THEN we got Jim Hendrix, Led Zeppelin Janis Joplin, The Doors, ELVIS opened the DOORS to let the politics & RACISM WALK on through to the OTHER SIDE! hahahaha! Yea!
