Both singing and screaming take the same basics to begin learning. I'd say that if you have the foundations of singing it's going to be easier for you to learn to scream than someone without that same training. But I wouldn't say either is necessary harder than the other- in fact I think each has their own set of challenges. For screaming it's placing the sensation in your chest well depending on the scream you're after- and with singing it's avoiding that urge to use your throat to change pitch
