Yuri on Ice is the reason I started working on figure skating. It's now one of my biggest passions. The things I would give to watch Yuri on Ice for the first time again and feel that awe and inspiration I felt after completing it.
How does Yuri on Ice not have a second season yet? This show was popular even among non-anime fans. edit: wow...people really seem to mistake this for a serious post. I am completely aware of current news. The movie was delayed an embaressing amount and so far there has been no talk about a second season at all, except the creator noting that she thinks everything that had to be said was said in the first season.
Yuri on Ice actually doesn't even have it's own manga. It was an original work from the animation studio MAPPA. As sad as it is, we sadly won't be getting a second season anytime soon.

Yeah, I have been thinking that too, but I felt that by it would be really hard to surpass Season 1. Plus, by ending it at Season 1 is a really profound and sincere ending, I cannot imagine it ending any other way (except their marriage 😂)

I can understand the emotion you let out at the end there. I’m also always worried about exhaustion setting in around the 2 minute mark with Routines like this so everything that happened after that point wasn’t shocking to me. It’s amazing how you make this routine seem to glow on the ice and it was beautiful. Wonderful job!

I always feel touched and amazed seeing Yuri on Ice fans' videos like this. I can't skate at all, so I'm even more impressed! 😁 Sad to say though, but I've lost hope there ever will be a 2nd season to the lovely anime. 🥺 It's unfortunate but maybe also can't be helped. I remember Yuri on Ice was released in 2016 (right?) ...airing at around 2am on TV here in Japan. I didn't even know about it, and was simply lucky enough to be having problems sleeping at that time, and came across episode 2 while channel surfing. The BL-esque vibes only made it popular to certain types of people here in Japan, too. I'm happy that there are lots of fans abroad still waiting for this, but frankly I've grown disheartened. MAPPA staff are probably too overworked already trying to deliver to the massive Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsukaisen fanbase. I doubt Yuri on Ice is high enough on their list of priorities. I'm really sad about it. But again, it's understandable that they will prioritize catering to the wants of the much widely-known, more hyped-up and bigger anime projects, especially ones that are manga-based. I can only imagine how difficult it is working on something original like YoI, and also animating ice skating must be hell. 😅 If someday they do have the time, money and energy to create a 2nd season for YoI, that'll be sooo amazing. 🥰

To be fair, Yuri' last performance is too good to be feasibly replicated. A figure skater at that level would be wasting their time re-enacting this and be better off practising for their next event. The time investment is simply not worth it. But that's exactly why Anime is such a good story-telling medium, it can express real emotion and real experiences - albeit often exaggerated for entertainment, but with that context known to the audience, it makes a lot of the stories told great inspirations to look up to - without being inhumanly perfect like a lot of western stories.

I only recently watched “Yuri on Ice” and really enjoyed it but didn’t feel a strong connection to it. I saw this in my recommendations and instantly thought it was so amazing how you brought the anime to life. Although I didn’t feel much of a connection with the anime this honestly really sparked my attention and I think you did such a great job. I loved this video so much and it’s probably my favorite thing I’ve seen on UA-cam in a while. UA-cam is so filled with drama and stuff these days but this was just so enjoyable to watch.

The amount of thought put into this song is amazing. The beginning part of the song symbolizes what Yuri felt before he met victor. Then when the song starts to get more upbeat is when Yuri met Victor. The sad, slow beat in the end is when Yuri and Victor sort of fought and it ended really upbeat because that's how the ending of Yuri on ice seaoson 1 was. Yuri and Victor vowing to stay together. This song makes me in the verge of tears everytime. This song is just so beautiful and you can feel the emotions the person who composed it felt. Wow. Amazing.

I can understand the emotion you let out at the end there. I’m also always worried about exhaustion setting in around the 2 minute mark with Routines like this so everything that happened after that point wasn’t shocking to me. It’s amazing how you make this routine seem to glow on the ice and it was beautiful. Wonderful job!

I always feel touched and amazed seeing Yuri on Ice fans' videos like this. I can't skate at all, so I'm even more impressed! 😁
Sad to say though, but I've lost hope there ever will be a 2nd season to the lovely anime. 🥺 It's unfortunate but maybe also can't be helped. I remember Yuri on Ice was released in 2016 (right?) ...airing at around 2am on TV here in Japan. I didn't even know about it, and was simply lucky enough to be having problems sleeping at that time, and came across episode 2 while channel surfing. The BL-esque vibes only made it popular to certain types of people here in Japan, too. I'm happy that there are lots of fans abroad still waiting for this, but frankly I've grown disheartened. MAPPA staff are probably too overworked already trying to deliver to the massive Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsukaisen fanbase. I doubt Yuri on Ice is high enough on their list of priorities. I'm really sad about it. But again, it's understandable that they will prioritize catering to the wants of the much widely-known, more hyped-up and bigger anime projects, especially ones that are manga-based. I can only imagine how difficult it is working on something original like YoI, and also animating ice skating must be hell. 😅
If someday they do have the time, money and energy to create a 2nd season for YoI, that'll be sooo amazing. 🥰

As a figure skater i recognise his hardwork but I dont think that yuri's jumps are that easy
Just admired this masterpiece. Like wtf who cares if it's not as good as Yuri's performance. He was amazing and he did his best.
To be fair, Yuri' last performance is too good to be feasibly replicated. A figure skater at that level would be wasting their time re-enacting this and be better off practising for their next event. The time investment is simply not worth it. But that's exactly why Anime is such a good story-telling medium, it can express real emotion and real experiences - albeit often exaggerated for entertainment, but with that context known to the audience, it makes a lot of the stories told great inspirations to look up to - without being inhumanly perfect like a lot of western stories.
To be honest , Yuri is a FICTIONAL character so of course it won’t be that easy to copy it

I only recently watched “Yuri on Ice” and really enjoyed it but didn’t feel a strong connection to it. I saw this in my recommendations and instantly thought it was so amazing how you brought the anime to life. Although I didn’t feel much of a connection with the anime this honestly really sparked my attention and I think you did such a great job. I loved this video so much and it’s probably my favorite thing I’ve seen on UA-cam in a while. UA-cam is so filled with drama and stuff these days but this was just so enjoyable to watch.

The amount of thought put into this song is amazing. The beginning part of the song symbolizes what Yuri felt before he met victor. Then when the song starts to get more upbeat is when Yuri met Victor. The sad, slow beat in the end is when Yuri and Victor sort of fought and it ended really upbeat because that's how the ending of Yuri on ice seaoson 1 was. Yuri and Victor vowing to stay together. This song makes me in the verge of tears everytime. This song is just so beautiful and you can feel the emotions the person who composed it felt. Wow. Amazing.
