Bruh can we please talk about how Sera and Kazama were just playing 5D chess with the entirety of the Tojo clan and Kamarocho? For 20+ years? Legends only.
Literally wish these dudes were my family members! Absolute geniuses.

After this playthrough, I think we need a Majima alert as well as a “Who do you think you are, I am!” alert
That part with Majima in the Shangri-La.. man, his face showed surprise, sorrow, then bittersweetness behind a mask. He maybe remembered Makoto. Poor Majima

So answering some questions
1. In the original game, it was JUST the stabbing for Majima, he appeared at the start of the game, at the batting cages, at the Soapland and that's it. That's why he seems to... snap between personalities in those scenes
2. For how much of this story was the original game, much! There are a few added scenes, mainly the Nishki stuff as people in chat told you, but most things were there originally.
And just as an aside, the reason the game gets so... Kill Happy, is that they weren't ever sure the series would take off, so the intent was to wrap it up as hard as possible. Hence Kiryu's story is, essentially, concluded in just this game. don't need supporting characters if you don't have any sequels! And turns out, people really liked Yakuza and it wound up being a massive hit!
How i'm dealing with Majima being wonky is thinking that he's just overcorrecting from his really reserved 0 character and still hasn't figured out quite how to play it yet
@@heathb2182 Oh trust me, once you get more of Majima's backstory, you realize that he never stopped being a broken mess of a human being that life wont stop kicking in the ribs
Having started on 0 I just assumed that the series was always killhappy and that 0 couldn't really do that because most of the characters showed up again, and the only ones that did die were those original to 0 (rest in peace Tachibana, Oda, Nishitani, and Awano)
@@MrBronx819 You're technically right. When people loved Yakuza PS2, they wanted to bring more of that over the top drama because it's what people wanted. When they got to 5, people started getting bored of the over the top twists and they really became predictable, so when they began working on 0, they didn't want to go full on kill happy, but they knew it'd be some people's very first game into the series and didn't want to deviate from what the rest of the games are like and they did a great job honestly. Here's hoping that they continue to make the games fun and not have another Yakuza 5 story take place (not the multiple playable characters, the actual boring story at times that is 30 hours long with 80 hours of side stories and just doesn't make sense/becomes too predictable)

I just finished this game after completing Yakuza 0, and I agree; this game was depressing as fuck. The characters I was invested in from 0 are dead, and also the newly introduced good guys :(

yes, that was retconned into beeing akiyama in Yakuza 4. apperently they didn't change that guys design in Kiwami into how akiyama looked in his flashbacks for reasons.

I actually played this without tiger drop, the farthest I unlocked was the counter heat move from any direction
Majima Everywhere is a cool concept, but it does kind of ruin his characterisation in story beats, like at 1:52:30
It also would be nice if it went away when you finished all his challenges.

It is literally the exact same game as the last one, just with one new series. Its bullshit, it should've just been DLC not a whole brand new game

.-. I was expecting the final boss to be awesome, Ray just parried him the whole time. Meanwhile you can find a guy making this fight more dramatic than MGS4's final boss.

@@jameshaughney2327 having played through this game as I watched it, it is one of the stronger abilities, but you also can pull off heat moves super easily in Dragon, and they do INSANE damage, like at least 1 health bar if you're full on heat, and certainly more than Tiger Drop even if you aren't.
I found the Tiger Drop strat super boring most of the time because it was annoying waiting for them to attack instead of doing it myself. The exception being colleseum.
I dont blame him for doing it, but it is boring to watch, and also in my experience do. I had Tiger drop after part 10, but I rarely used it because it's just not nearly as fun as using the super strong heat moves for bosses. Having to wait for them to attack is boring, and can be hard to anticipate without knowing all the attacks.
Id say the one exception would be the colleseum, which unlike Ray, I enjoy. So it's probably just personal preference.
