Normally this category is played on the "I'm Too Young To Die" difficulty (ITYTD), but this run was done on the Ultra Violence difficulty (UV) for a couple reasons. 1) Both Armored Barons and Blood Maykrs behave much more consistently at higher difficulties, specifically their big telegraphed attacks where you can damage their weakpoints. I was doing some ITYTD runs and lost 40s just because the Blood Maykr wouldn't attack lol 2) Dark Lord's attack animation speed scales based on the difficulty (just like the Marauder), so at UV his attacks are faster, meaning more can happen in the same amount of time, compared to ITYTD. Also, the reason I didn't do Nightmare is because it's a separate category, similar to how Ultra-Nightmare is it's own category. So Ultra Violence was the max I could play at.
I dont know if you know it (you probably do) but you can bait blood maykrs into attacking you But i dont if it got patched or not For more Details, there is a Video from mr. No life about it :) Edit: here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/fEJEafdHQ8w/v-deo.html
@@Randybobandy024 Yea we've known about the bait since basically TAG1's release. Problem with that is it doesn't always work on ITYTD. This game uses a token system so there were just too many enemies trying to attack that the Blood Maykr never had a chance, even with the bait, since ITYTD has the lowest amount of tokens.
Do you know if the number of tokens is encounter specific or if it's the same base number for the entire campaign? I sometimes imagine that the AI is more aggressive for some encounters.
playing with one of the best skins, Fallen Angel. very crazy WR. I gotta try to learn some of the Dark Lord fights, the final fight is just so boring imo it really makes me not want to replay TAG2, if I could finish the last fight half as quick as you could I'd probably replay it more often. gg
Communication and discussion between fellow speedrunners. Trial and error combing the environment clean for skips. Study and practice of the game's systems.
Prior knowledge of how tech works, and then just trying things from there. None of these skips were found by me though. Only routing of mine is a specific setup for the 6x ballista skip in World Spear, and some of the combat.
Version is in the description. This was 5.1, or the June 1st Cosmetic Update as labeled by id Software. For all intents and purposes it is the same version as 5.0, which is TAG2's release version. Just with more cosmetics.

What were the biggest time saves here over the old WR?
Playing on Ultra-Violence lol
Not having to wait for the Blood Maykr saved a significant amount of time.

what just happened
Is there no theoretical way to skip the last arena on RE?
Nothing that we could find. There's no holes in the collision anywhere, no exposed triggers, nothing, unfortunately.
Jeez…
Wow
how in the DOOMs hell did you figure these out?
