mattorama word. Do you remember thinking we couldn't do any better than this? Like...theyd seriously just HAVE to use real people in games. How would that even work? Lmao I was shocked by the slightest tech things back in the day. Jet motor looked clunky and other games I had looked better. But little details like that blew my mind lmao
1:48 kinda bummed you didn't take the shortcut THROUGH THE FUCKING HOUSE, the fact that you can destroy that and basically plough through someones atrium with your futuristic hover-motorcycle of death blew my 7 year old mind back in the day.
This game is so similar to Twisted Metal 2! Some of TM2's music is in this game, the Nightmare track's ground that you can fall off the edge to is the same one from TM2's New York stage, and the girl scream from TM2 is in this game too! Not surprising because both Jet Moto and Twisted Metal 2 were developed both by SingeTrac and were released at the same time. I'm very surprised Mark didn't talk or even seem to notice this games many similarities to Twisted Metal 2.
I played the crap out of this game back in the 90's. I would even jam this cd in my discman, great tracks. My favorite part was unlocking the trick points. The better the trick you did, the more turbo boosts you got. Made it easier to win (for some maps). You unlock new tracks by beating the tournament in each difficulty level.
It's something you have to just practice with. They sling shot you around turns once you get used to how they work. This doesn't mean you don't have to turn on your own though (mark took a turn with the grapple in one clip without even bothering to turn his bike).
I used to play this as a kid and got really good at it. A few of the music tracks are from Twisted Metal 2 btw (I would know bc I would listen to it in my cd player lol)
Don't forget Streak Hoverboard Racing, which is often overlooked. It was the unofficial Jet Moto 3 by Single Trac with equally cool music. Jet Moto was also released on PC, along with Twisted Metal 2.
I rented jet moto 2 at a video store a few years after the turn of the millennium, all I remember is after the tracks loaded you could pop in audio CD in the middle of a race and have it play that instead of the stock music, lol
This game and Twisted Metal 2 stayed in our Playstation. We played the games constantly. I admit, it was hard as nails but an absolute blast to play. We all had our favorite JM rides to race with with. We were lucky enough to unlock all the tracks, thankfully, but just barely. Great memories with this game. Wish it would make a comeback.
I used to be an ace at this game when I was a kid. Downloaded off the PS Store a few years ago and I don't even know how that was possible. Still love that theme song though.
Jet Moto was my favorite game as a kid. You had full 3 axis control and the ability to lean off the bike. 4 different controls vs most racing games having only 1. Pitch and yaw on the dpad. Roll on R2 L2, lean on R1 L1. When mastered it was more rewarding the other racing games. I have yet to play another racing game with as much control over the vehicle.
Oh, I *LOVE* this game! Poured so many hours into it, still play it a few times per year. Love the 20 rider field, soundtrack, and gameplay. Beat the whole thing back in the day. Wish the sequels were better.
Yeah the twenty rider field was what made this one so special unlike the sequels. It would be cool to get a true successor on a modern console. With the comic book aesthetic and all(and an ability to create your own characters/bikes/ race team).
One of my favorite games on PS1. Probably the most played. I was hooked on this. Rented it like 10 times before finally just buying it. Still have my copy.
The first game I remember playing.... Crazy nostalgia. But great review as always, Master Karnage:)

Played this A LOT as a kid. One of my fav PS1 games. Graphics haven't held up so well....but were great at the time. The soundtrack is still awesome though!
I remember playing this game at my local Circuit City around 1997 when my parents were trying to figure out which camcorder to buy. It was fucking hard. I then bought it a year ago for like 2 bucks at my flea market.....it's still fucking hard 20 years later.
Hey, I have this game but it was so hard and the graphics are so old for me... however please review "TEST DRIVE OFF ROADS 3" they have a great course themes and awesome alternative rock music!
I beat this game when I was a kid. I'm not even the type to go out of my way to beat a game but this one made me so angry that I took it personally. I couldn't let it get the best of me 😅
My friends and I played the hell out of this game back in the day. It was stupid fun, and the soundtrack was rad. A lot of people hated it, for some reason.
damjrok a lot of people didn't understand how to use physics. Riding the waves to keep speed, instead of crashing them and bopping into the air, slowing them down And they couldn't quite get the grapple AND tilt for a nice smooth turn, t hst doesn't stop you, or twist you off course. Jet moto 1 was very technical like that to win.
The main reason for the high level of difficulty and steep learning curve is that there was no AI. All of the other riders are performing ghost laps recorded by the developers. Who needs online play when you're playing the developers.
Codes don't make the game easier? Stunt mode is the way to play the game. throw out backflips and such for extra boosters. Makes the game easier and more fun, I'm not entirely sure why stunt mode wasn't on by default.
Is no one gonna mention that some of that soundtrack is exactly the same as twisted metal 2? Don't know which came first, but one of them had to rip from the other, that or they had the same producers.
Jet Moto 3 is the easiest out of the trilogy, the hardest is JM2. JM1 is hard too, but mainly because of its dated controls and physics, it's not that good in those regards and it artificially increases the difficulty.
Enigma I disagree. Picked up jm2 a couple years ago after not having played any of the 3 in years fully expecting to use a cheat to unlock the levels. Instead I ended up beating it in a couple hours max.
Damn, it took me years to be able to beat Master difficulty, I started playing these games when I was 3 years old though lol, and yeah, once you're good at Jet Moto 2, it's really easy, I can beat a Master Championship in a few minutes, beating the whole game with all the trophies takes a few hours.
Man I remember when my dad and I used to play this a lot. RIP dad.
Awesome dad. Im a dad to a 1 yr old. Cant wait to play this with him when he is older.
I was thinking the same. Got one otw
I miss this series sooooo much. Hands down my favorite trilogy of the PS1.
Actually. Jet Moto 2 and 3 were better than 1.
I remember this in the late 90s. It was fun but really hard. the late 90s had so many versatile good games
We need to reboot this franchise. I loved these games when I was a teen.
The reflective water was pretty slick for the game's day.
mattorama word. Do you remember thinking we couldn't do any better than this? Like...theyd seriously just HAVE to use real people in games. How would that even work? Lmao
I was shocked by the slightest tech things back in the day. Jet motor looked clunky and other games I had looked better. But little details like that blew my mind lmao
Can you believe there's a Tiger Electronic of this? I came across it at a Zia Records and immediately grabbed it.
1:48 kinda bummed you didn't take the shortcut THROUGH THE FUCKING HOUSE, the fact that you can destroy that and basically plough through someones atrium with your futuristic hover-motorcycle of death blew my 7 year old mind back in the day.
Sebastian Keil lmao
I had a blast playing this game. The more you play the more you love it.
This game is so similar to Twisted Metal 2! All Access Gaming Don't forget the hidden Jet Moto level in Twisted Metal 2.
glitchedgamer Yes. The Jet Moto level in Twisted Metal 2 as well. :)
All Access Gaming Well yeah, same developer, and both were released around the same time.
I love this game. It was one of my first PlayStation games.
I played the crap out of this game back in the 90's. I would even jam this cd in my discman, great tracks. My favorite part was unlocking the trick points. The better the trick you did, the more turbo boosts you got. Made it easier to win (for some maps).

Singletrack games always had awesome music. They also made the first 2 Twisted Metal games.
Never understood how those grappling posts worked...
It's something you have to just practice with. They sling shot you around turns once you get used to how they work. This doesn't mean you don't have to turn on your own though (mark took a turn with the grapple in one clip without even bothering to turn his bike).
Randomark3087, I would play those as well. Test drive offroad was one of my other favorites to listen to, but the game itself was complete trash lol.
I used to listen to JetMoto and Ridge Racer in my discman. The 90s were rad.
Jet Moto, Mountain Dew and Doritos. Perfect!
This is seriously one of my favorite PS1 games ever. Still play it regularly on my Vita!
That scream!
HEUGH!!
I used to play this as a kid and got really good at it. A few of the music tracks are from Twisted Metal 2 btw (I would know bc I would listen to it in my cd player lol)
Played the hell out of 1&2 in my teen years, now I have to relive those days by grabbing these again. Thanks for the nostalgia kick Mark!
Don't forget Streak Hoverboard Racing, which is often overlooked. It was the unofficial Jet Moto 3 by Single Trac with equally cool music.
Jet Moto was also released on PC, along with Twisted Metal 2.
on that "deadly" stage, you can shortcut thru the mansion/house before that right turn
"Empire sponsored by Mountain Dew." I gotta see that in a Star Wars movie now. Darth Vader wearing a green and yellow suit, looking like Kick Ass lol
Shoulder buttons Sir?
I DID love this game in 1996. I played the absolute bazingas off it.
I rented jet moto 2 at a video store a few years after the turn of the millennium, all I remember is after the tracks loaded you could pop in audio CD in the middle of a race and have it play that instead of the stock music, lol
I grew up with jet moto, still one of my favorite racing games.
More PS1 game reviews! My all time favourite game console! My golden teenage years spent with this wondermachine!
Good video. You go straight into the review.
Wow never thought I'd hear anyone mention this game again
Mark
I remember this game being heavily advertised back in the day
Jet Moto gets better as you play the newer games, the challenge eases in later titles but it still gets punishingly hard.
I loved this game when it was new. I also thought it was super tough until I learned about the grapple beam, then it became a cinch.
My brother and I would play this for hours.
I used to be an ace at this game when I was a kid. Downloaded off the PS Store a few years ago and I don't even know how that was possible. Still love that theme song though.
Could you review Rapid Racer ? That was kinda cool, although it seemed like racing on silk .
It took me 2 weeks but I perfected this game in school. Takes me back!
Whatever happened to Mohammed from Qatar?
Yess. This was one of my favorites!
Hello Moto
Heh, there was a Motorola "Hello Moto" ad before this.
i just realized the sound effects, music, and even the screams is the same as Twisted Metal 2 :) no wonder i thought the music was BANGIN'
One of my favorite games!
Good ol jet Moto track in twisted metal 2.
this was my first video game
Great review mark!
One of my favorite games on PS1. Probably the most played. I was hooked on this. Rented it like 10 times before finally just buying it. Still have my copy.
“They must’ve drank a lot of Mtn Dew; I used to live on that stuff back in the mid 90’s, probably explains a lot”
The first game I remember playing.... Crazy nostalgia. But great review as always, Master Karnage:)
Played this A LOT as a kid. One of my fav PS1 games. Graphics haven't held up so well....but were great at the time. The soundtrack is still awesome though!
This game is hard?! Man I whipped this games’ ass back when I was 14! They need to bring this series back! Lot’s of fun!!!
I spent so much time with JM1 and JM2 back in elementary school. I wish we would get a proper sequel for current gen.
The PC version of this game was my childhood :)
Game looks like a Saturn game if I'm being honest. Reminds me of Panzer Dragoon
Another great ps1 classic game would be Rallycross. i've played that , and it was much fun too.
I remember playing this game at my local Circuit City around 1997 when my parents were trying to figure out which camcorder to buy. It was fucking hard. I then bought it a year ago for like 2 bucks at my flea market.....it's still fucking hard 20 years later.
This needs a new game! Loved all of these!
The vehicles remind me of Space Racer for the Atari ST (and others).
Cool looking game.
I've heard that Mountain Dew does wonders for your Compy.
I mean, Homestar Runner isn't going to lie to me, right?
CaptainLumpyDog strongbad says hi.
I love this game!
You should play Moto Racer 1 and 2 on the ps1.
Review downhill domination for ps2, please? Its an unknown gem
What is it, like a... racing game?
Or as I used to call it: "Jet Mofo." Game was frickin hard!
From the makers of twisted metal comes jet moto
TheAllaksion I thought it was the other way around
you should try out the second one, it's way better in my opinion.

Jet moto 1 was very technical like that to win.
Used to play that when I was 12 it was badass!!!!!! Gotta buy it again it’s such an awesome 😎 game love ❤️ PlayStation 1❤❤❤😎😎😎😎😎😎😎!!!!!
I never clicked on a vid so fast
Some PS love! Great!
Jet Moto 2 is the best one in the series IMO...you can unlock every stage from Jet Moto 1 in it as well...
That was cool... should call it Death Moto !😛
To be fair.. Singletrac had a bigger series after Jet Moto, the almighty Twisted Metal.
I cannae really blame them for going onto it.
:3
Mountain Dew? More like Mountain DON'T! Drink Mortal Kombat Imperial IPA instead! CGR Approved!
Probably.
I used to play this when I was 5 honestly this game was too intense for a 5 year old lol
I played the hell out of this game.
I wonder if Phil Collins had a Genesis before he went solo ??!! WHAT!!?!?
The main reason for the high level of difficulty and steep learning curve is that there was no AI. All of the other riders are performing ghost laps recorded by the developers. Who needs online play when you're playing the developers.
Future death sledding should be a real sport :D
He's reviewing Jet Moto....but he's showing Jet Moto 2 races....
Mark isnt it a wonderful time to be alive when "Classic" is considered PS1 type of games, Soon PS4 will be classic!
Ryon Persaud PS1 was a long time ago pal
Rad!
Used to slam Surge while playing this.
Hi jhet moto bumisita na ako sa bahay mo kinulayan ko na Sana makabisita ka sa bahay ko god bless
Jet Moto 2 is better than the first one but it is definitely much more difficult
M2original no way
rip CGR
Every time I played this game, it’s hard to get a first place. Even I set on easy difficulty, AI still kick my a$$.
this version is much better than jet moto 2 & 3
Codes don't make the game easier? Stunt mode is the way to play the game. throw out backflips and such for extra boosters. Makes the game easier and more fun, I'm not entirely sure why stunt mode wasn't on by default.
Fire Dragon K the challenge, man. Use your 4 boosters well, my child lol
Is no one gonna mention that some of that soundtrack is exactly the same as twisted metal 2? Don't know which came first, but one of them had to rip from the other, that or they had the same producers.
Ryden Hope I noticed this in the first 5 seconds of the video and freaked out. Glad someone else did too
Ryden Hope similar producers.
If you think jet Moto 1 is hard just wait til you play jet Moto 3...no idea how I used to actually be good at it
Jet Moto 3 is the easiest out of the trilogy, the hardest is JM2. JM1 is hard too, but mainly because of its dated controls and physics, it's not that good in those regards and it artificially increases the difficulty.

Empire sponsored by Mtn Dew
sean zoltek.....
This looks like ass but it's always good to see old games i never knew about.
Review some Playstation 2 games please!
I loooooved JM1 when it came out. JM2 was trash though.
mountain dew, dont see much of it anymore
AWESOME trilogy.. not average at all.. esp 2 and 3. Get over yourself.
C'mon mark more starwars reference it gets old
