    These are great tutorials. I think this is a near perfect sequencer, so I ordered one! My only niggles are 1) that the ratchets aren’t ratchets, they’re note repeats and true ratchets would be much more useful and 2) in the per step editing , where you loop the page, I think it would be much more useful if it was silent for the steps that are not selected. Messes up my musical ear when it plays a root note or whatever it does for those unselected steps. I wonder if it’s possible to fix these things in a firmware update? Beautiful, well thought out module though, thanks again!

      +1 for the ratchet thing ... would be good to toggle it between effectively 'repeat a note' and variable ratchets ... cmon Qu-Bit!! Make it happen and I'll buy a 2nd one :)

    Nice, but I find it quite confusing that if a pattern has less than 8 notes, all 8 LEDs are still on. For example, if a pattern has only 6 notes, I would expect LED number 7 and 8 to be turned off.

    Yes! Moore Bloom : )
    Yesterday I asked for a video on Pulsar. The reason for this is that I read some find it complicated or hard to get while others seem to have no problems with it.
    I watched most of the video now and I get so happy to see how much care and effort you put into making this module. Ease of use, Utilisation of the functions of the knobs. Not extremely intuitive and relatively complex for it's size and knobs, but logical and not complicated. The care and mindset put into making this module, the patience for perfecting things makes me think of it as a piece of art.
    Oh! great! A third video!!

    I’m still enjoying my bloom! Still wish there were a couple of changes though : 1) the ratchet thing. ‘Nuff said. 2) a more intuitive way of changing gate length. You can do this per step by pushing and changing the encoder but it’s tricky to know what length you’ve set. Would be great if the 8 LEDS reflected gate length as you push and change and 3) some way of scaling the note range.. sometimes you get too many octaves when mutating / branching. Otherwise it’s pretty great and I’m glad I have it!

      I haven't got Bloom. I am very tempted, but the ratchet thing was one of the features that put me off. White Noises channel seems to address this in his Bloom tutorial at the 7:20 mark. It's hard to tell as he goes past it quickly, and don't have the module to test it on, but he seems to get a traditional ratchet thing going.

    7:47 I think you mean when Dividing you need 2 pulses to advance 1 step no? That’s how it works when using Bloom. Div 2 = 2 clock pulse per each step sequence.

    • @QuBitElectronix
      @QuBitElectronix  6 місяців тому

      The wording here is a bit tricky, but correct. In order for Bloom to know what clock rate it needs to multiply, it requires two pulses from the external clock. Bloom reads the time between the two pulses, calculates the clock rate from that, then multiplies the clock rate to advance the sequence. Let us know if that makes sense!

    • @domtak
      @domtak 6 місяців тому

      That makes sense. I do like how Bloom advances 1:1 (and divides) per pulse as it means you can send in some really wonky clocks and it happily keeps track. Nice!@@QuBitElectronix

    You had me until per-step editing. Why stop the sequencer to edit a single step?

    • @QuBitElectronix
      @QuBitElectronix  2 роки тому +1

      You can loop the page you are editing in Per-Step Edit mode by entering the mode and pressing CHANNEL. Bloom will loop the single page of 8 notes while you edit them. To advance to the next page, just press RESET. Bloom will remember this looping setting while you jump in and out of the Per-Step editor. Hopefully this makes sense, as it would be difficult to edit per-step with the whole sequencer playing, jumping from page to page while you are trying to edit individual notes, particularly at higher clock rates.

    I just got Bloom but channel 1 plays through the sequence once (mine is 4 steps) and then turns purple and plays a difference sequence (then back to the blue sequence and so on). all the knobs to the right are turned all the way to the left. What is that and how do I turn it off? Thank you.

    • @QuBitElectronix
      @QuBitElectronix  2 роки тому

      Bloom saves the knob positions between power cycles, which is great, but what you're experiencing is Bloom's persistent memory.
      Persistent memory is a common feature of digital modules. If you have moved the knobs and it's still showing the light purple branches LED colors (in addition to your blue LED's from your regular pattern), the best way to clear those is to just sweep that knob clockwise and then back counterclockwise. Persistent Memory is always on to preserve sequence data and knob positions, which you can save when switching channels. This allows you to pick up right where you left off between power cycles. It was created as a way to monitor all the things that are going on with the sequence at a glance. But it makes sense you'd like it gone, if you've turned all the knobs to the left for a reset. Sweeping the knob will be the easiest / fastest solution for you. Please let us know if this helps.
