Best pools ever made , i still have my 12 x 24 rectangular Ester Williams purchased back in 1988 every thing is still original with the exception of the liner replaced in 2018. Never left the motor or the filter out side , at end of season stored in house for winter. Opening and closing and cleaning the filtration system was done by me for 33 years

Best pools ever made. I put my pump and filter in the basement for the winter. Thank you for the comment.

I have a 1991 EW pool as well, I inherited it with the house. I'm having issues finding an easy way to close and open the pool each season due to the fence. Do you have any tips for how to close this kinda pool?

What kind of winter cover will you use and how will you install it with the rails?

Keep an eye on classified ads at the begining or end of the season. You might get lucky with someone wanting to get rid of an ester Williams pool and you could get what you want for next to nothing or free. I know some people that pick up pools from classified ads just to take them to the junk yards to get scrap money for all the aluminum. Thanks for the comment.

Do you have to close your pool for winter time? If so, I'd love to see a video on how you close and open your pool each season.

Why do you take it down every year???? Way too much work

No I don't take it down every year. I guess you missed that i bought this pool used for $1400 . It's the best above ground pool ever made. Called Ester Williams pool named after a famous Olympic swimmer in the 1950s. They had a lifetime guarantee till they went out of business in th the 1980s. They were so well built out of heavy corrugated aluminum with all stainless hardware that once you bought one you didn't buy another. I estimate my pool is 30 to 40 years old and this pool might outlast me lol, With a little paint it's like new. A little known fact a Ester Williams above ground pool can be fully submerged in the ground to be a fully inground pool. It's the only above ground pool that is strong enough to be a inground pool. It has to be half full before it can be back filled. So in three end it might have been a few days of hard work but for very little money I have a pool that will give my family years of use. Thanks for the comment.
