Pretty sure flack shrap can penetrate devastator armor which is a huge W. Can also hit the packs on shield devastators from behind if you have the high ground to place your shots behind them without the prox trigger popping too soon
AC can indeed kill BTs in the face, but I think you might have been firing Flak at it - you gotta use the AP shell. Also! The Hunter cooldown only applies to their leap attack, a pack of them can still kill you with normal melee pretty fast. I kinda wish we had a hotkey to switch shells, because I already blew myself up twice with the RR as I apparently hit LMB too soon :(
@Echolaliaxu its a perfect pairing with the crossbow or now even the Purifier, for those times when the chaff gets a lil too close on the bug side. It shoots on a dot so I love it for taking out shriekers as well.

You're thinking the counter is "how many bug holes have been destroyed", but what it actually is saying is "which bug hole your current objective is to destroy". It's not "You have destroyed 8 out of 10 bug holes." (so 2 holes left) It's "Your current objective is to destroy the 8th out of 10 holes." (so 3 holes left, including the 8th). I get why they went that way. Every other objective description in the game is the current action you need to do next, not what you've already done. But in the cases of nests/outposts, I do agree that the current display isn't the most intuitive one.
It does kind of use the current system because blue means the objective is active, grey shows it as competed. So the 8 being blue means hole 8 is currently the target and the 7 grey dash’s are the completed holes.

All the buffs are awesome. I’m stoked to try out the senator once I get back home. I think my only initial disappointment is with the stalwart change as I was hoping it was gonna be more then just an ergonomic change but ehhh, maybe that’s all it needed.
Orbital Airburst is actually goated, its just better for crowds already spawned. So you'll want to let the bugs breach for a second and then throw. Routinely gets x20+
36:12 There was a fuel canister next to you :) I always throw it away first because I’ve been killed by its explosion a few times too :) Blitzer for close encounters, grenade pistol for holes, and Stalwart for crowd control - this has been the best loadout for me against bugs lately. I only used the FLAK rounds once, against a bile spewer map. It was alright. It was great against bug breaches, allowing me to clear them with only the autocannon, unless a bile titan appeared. It would often trigger on dead bodies, teamates, and sentries. I found it was better for clearing chaff, and the normal fire for tank units. I will try it on bots later, where the autocannon is already top tier. It can still clear bug nests. I do still need to use it on shreikers tho. Seems fun, but kinda not needed.
you definitely need to try the updated liberator guard dog, it now uses the liberator penetrator which makes it the best guard dog imo on top of being able to toggle guard dogs now with 5 (dpad down)
Orbital airburst has a really low cooldown, a very wide radius, and it hits 33% more times now with a slightly longer delay between blasts. It’s got enough radius to hit two breaches happening close enough together. It also takes out most things for the duration of the bursts. It’s very effective. Eradicate, the flag mission, and the high priority target mission where you defend. All great uses. On the flag mission and that defend mission you can get the radius to overlap 2 breaches. It’s much more on par with the orbital Gatling.
Honestly they are a joke after the patch. At leat from what I’ve played. Because multiple can’t pounce on you, you can just dodge one and be unpunished. Not saying they didn’t need a change but this doesn’t feel like it’s it.
Airbrust orbital is perfect for tunnel breaches. Sort of a throw and forget deal unless a heavy enemy pops up. It's replaced my precision strike in my loadout.
i love the auto cannon im so supprised they gave it an upgrade. so from what i saw first few shots on a group go flak then when they pile up go explosive
The holes counter doesnt actually keep track of your current holes closed as far as i know, rather it shows it as you are currently on hole * to close. So when the counter is on 8. Its telling you, you are on hole 8 to close.not that ou have closed 8. I believe you can tell by the very slight dimming or blinking of the current segment
OOHHH! I know how they programmed the "detonate when"! They scan for any body (including dead obviously) instead of checking if their live is above 0 or 1. Darn it! That's such a preventable newbie error (that I did too once!) and can be fixed with just 1 line of code XD Professionals. the senator is a secondary with the power of a support weapon now!! i was trying the new tenderizer fire mode(850 rpm) with it and holy is it a fun loadout i feel like im like part of spec ops or something, like the tenderizer is just so incredibly good at killing now and the senator just covers everything that it doesnt kill. i was playing against the bugs and the senator literally owns chargers it like 8 shots from the senator the break a leg and a mag to the butt to kill, and alpha commanders who? the senator can 3 shot them. you can play with anything now last patch felt like it was mandatory to run the crossbow but now everything is viable and were so so back!!

I've used the airburst strike for a while now, since shortly after the first buff patch. It was pretty good before this buff, and was able to completely wipe out Automaton patrols, bar hulks. I've had a pretty good experience with it.
Loving this update and noticed a few things, bugs will "burrow" into the ground to reach your position, something I've personally never seen them do for radar stations and the Blitzer? Flat out either one shots or vaporizes random enemy types, never seen a Hunter pop like that and now that I have, it's beautiful. Graphics got a tune up too, I see
Hunters and Scavengers are both popping now. But the whole "burrow" thing has been in the Game since LAUNCH. It is easiest to notice if you drop onto some cliffs and just sit there shooting down at the bugs. Eventually they will "spawn" right next to you with the whole burrow thing unless they can Jump Up to where youre at. Especially if you stand still on one relatively even rock surface.
@@Shedovv them teleporting up cliffs are one thing but now I'm seeing bugs dig their way to the top of the stairs instead of the usual hissing before walking around to the bottom like they have been doing since LAUNCH.
Liberator carabine is very satisfying to use now, shorter reload, more dmg, less recoil. With high rate of fire and lower health on trash enemies from last patch, it wrecks.
I have suffered several instances of the flak ammo not doing anything at all, wasting my ammo and not exploding or releasing any shrapnel, something seems bugged

I love it, when im not using the jump pack with the quasar, im running the auto cannon. its like what the airburst should have been. genuinely such a good addition to the gun, now it just needs maybe a scope adjustment and its peak auto cannon

Somehow the autocannon doesn't get rid of the bot fabricators as easily as before... now you gotta aim at the inside of the vent. You can't just shoot the hatch and expect your round to ricochet inside the vent. (Maybe this patch also changed that, unsure as I haven't played yet.)
i believe that was last patch. since the autocannon got increased penetration, it detonates on the vent flap instead of ricocheting in. makes it a bit more annoying to kill them from certain angles, but since the fabs have health pools now, you can magdump the sides and kill them that way

Autocannon does feel like a fast firing Eruptor. Now's about the time for them to buff the Eruptor's explosion damage back up to 300 (it was 340 until that shrapnel patch nerfed it to 225) at 340 it felt like it needed more, so now the total damage is 315 with the shrapnel. So hopefully they just make the Eruptor a slow firing powerhouse of a primary. Or make it heavy pen like the Senator. something.
Flak is better for shriekers and bot imo Shriekers for obvious reasons but bots because only small units call drops and this kills them so well, though it's good on hive guards too
the new jumppack is crazy fun, with shotguns its good but i much prefer taking the tenderizer on 850 and going onto medium-high terrain, the high mobility of it makes it my now fav support backpack for bugs! try it out! :)
for the objective saying 8/10: i believe what theyre going for is that your current objective is to destroy bughole number 8, and not that its already destroyed. your mission progress is exactly that- how much youve completed, and what else you need to complete
I belive it actually kills shrieker nests faster with Flak - I saw you consistenty down them in 7 while I believe AP needs 8 - 9 unless I am misremembering.
28:40 For nests it makes no sense the current way that it is. But for other objectives, you "are on step x out of total". If you are on the first step, with 0 steps done, you are on step 1 out of total. This intuition fails when closing a number of equal holes. You would rather just see your current completion. Not the current step that you're on.
Flak is great, and is pretty fun to use against shriekers, but RR HE rounds are pretty useless. Small AOE/damage and uses 1 of 6 of your shells. Not to mention the reload time afterwards. Should have been something different like napalm, or gas, or like an EMS mortar round
So I didn’t watch the vid cause I ain’t got time, just here to drop some helpful info. The explosive crossbow can kill impalers in 3-5 shots. Impalers for some reason have a weakpoint at the part where there tentacle head flesh connects to their armor(when they’re in the ground stabbies state) and 3-5 shots there with it will kill them. I learned about the weakpoint a week ago but tested the crossbow today.
Autocannon users stay winning. Imma have to try these flak rounds out whenever we deal with the bots next time!
Pairing up with another Autocannon user to do team reloads for each other is still the best fun against the bugs.

oh, you can also shoot both BTs and chargers in the face with the senator now. will take a few hits, but it does hurt them

Something to note, the revolver was always able to one shot hunters, but you had to precisely hit their head. So now it's just much easier to do
You could kill them on the body before, but you had to walk forwards while shooting.

I really think they should just turn off collision on dead corpses or reduce the cooldown on bodies to disappear, it would really help the flak issue.

the airburst strike has always been at the top of my list, its ideal for bugbreaches and with four seperate bursts, it will be even better

flack ammo is normmally used against flying targets... so i think it was indtroduce and developed to deal with gunships first and formost
If so the AC is an odd choice for the first flak weapon since it already excels vs gunships. Like maybe top 1.

Don't sleep on the full auto 20 bullet scorcher! It was already a strong choice before the buff but it's insane right now.

I love the flak mode but sometimes it seems that corpses trigger the proximity sensor which I'd rather annoying.
A quick question: What are your keybinds to enable you calling in stratagems while running _and_ looking around at the same time? Would love to try that out!
The keybindings options has fields for stratagem inputs, which i think is wasd by defualt, but can be changed to arrow keys

@@Aquila. Perhaps he has stratagem inputs mapped to left click, right click, mouse4 and mouse5(or scroll up/down) buttons. Havent tought about it until you pointed it out

only issue with flak ammo is it will explode near dead bodies too like the arch thrower it it hit dead bodies.

Autocannon does feel like a fast firing Eruptor.
Now's about the time for them to buff the Eruptor's explosion damage back up to 300 (it was 340 until that shrapnel patch nerfed it to 225)
at 340 it felt like it needed more, so now the total damage is 315 with the shrapnel. So hopefully they just make the Eruptor a slow firing powerhouse of a primary.
Or make it heavy pen like the Senator.

Flak is better for shriekers and bot imo
Shriekers for obvious reasons but bots because only small units call drops and this kills them so well, though it's good on hive guards too
the new jumppack is crazy fun, with shotguns its good but i much prefer taking the tenderizer on 850 and going onto medium-high terrain, the high mobility of it makes it my now fav support backpack for bugs! try it out! :)
what do you use for your stratagem keys?
Mega nest can be up to 13 holes. Generally 10-11 though. Ive onlynseen 10-11-13 but there may be a 12 hole variant
for the objective saying 8/10: i believe what theyre going for is that your current objective is to destroy bughole number 8, and not that its already destroyed. your mission progress is exactly that- how much youve completed, and what else you need to complete

I belive it actually kills shrieker nests faster with Flak - I saw you consistenty down them in 7 while I believe AP needs 8 - 9 unless I am misremembering.

likely he has the arrow keys for his stratagem inputs and keeps the WASD as his standard movement controls.

28:40 For nests it makes no sense the current way that it is. But for other objectives, you "are on step x out of total". If you are on the first step, with 0 steps done, you are on step 1 out of total. This intuition fails when closing a number of equal holes. You would rather just see your current completion. Not the current step that you're on.
Flak is great, and is pretty fun to use against shriekers, but RR HE rounds are pretty useless. Small AOE/damage and uses 1 of 6 of your shells. Not to mention the reload time afterwards.
Should have been something different like napalm, or gas, or like an EMS mortar round

So I didn’t watch the vid cause I ain’t got time, just here to drop some helpful info. The explosive crossbow can kill impalers in 3-5 shots. Impalers for some reason have a weakpoint at the part where there tentacle head flesh connects to their armor(when they’re in the ground stabbies state) and 3-5 shots there with it will kill them. I learned about the weakpoint a week ago but tested the crossbow today.
I wanna play with the autocannon but the improved jump pack is just so much fun
I dont know how they did it, but they improved on perfection. Autocannon since day 1 bb lets go!
are you running the game in default dx12 or are you using dx11?
i always move explosive barrels away from terminals xD thats what killed you on the icbm terminal
