More videos on this laser coming soon!
Just assembled my new 40 watt. Your video was very helpful.
STEVE MAKES EVERYTHING video (is
this the best laser of 2023). Watch it and he explains to use in lightburn GRBL not GRBL-M3 setting. Just thought i would mention it.
Excellent video .Super helpful
Just got my Longer B1 30W laser up and running. Unfortunately, it homed the first time connected and now it won't do it again. It is reading the x and y axis backwards and inverting. If I use the User Origin and mark the middle, it doesn't use that. It actually moves and hits the rails. Any advice would be great!
Assuming you are using Lightburn...........Are the settings in Lightburn correct? Home left front and bed size set accurate in the setup. If these are correct, then you will need to contact Longer as this seems very odd.
Well Roger I have mine 2 weeks now all of a sudden it quit working cut three small projects with it .
Now I turn the machine on don't do anything don't go home on startup. the arrow keys some work some backwards.
Contacted longer told to try reburning the firmware that didn't do anything to them I want to send the machine back faulty. now I don't hear anything from them.
That does sound like a firmware or motherboard issue. I am not affiliated with Longer, so can't help you there. It does take 24 hours to receive a reply from them during the week due to time differences and they do not reply on weekends.
Roger what do you have origin set at in device settings. I went into preview to look at cut job looked ok but when it Cut is was upside down.
I have a longer B1also any help wood be appreciated. Donnie
Lower left or center if not using Absolute Coordinates. When using Current position (rare), I use center as the origin.
Hi Rodger, Have the longer ray 10 watt. I would cut 1/8 wood at 100 power and 6 speed. Not sure what happen, but now I have to use 100 power and 150 speed. Is it something in the settings? Need help. Thank you.
Check to make sure lens is clean.
ok will do. thank you
😊😊A
I would like to ask if the lens changes to the longer b1 22watt
Not sure I understand the question, but the 20 watt and 30 watt heads are different modules.
Note to self: Wait until AFTER 4:20 to burn one.... When you are installing the Y axis belts, insert/fasten the belt into the "slot" nearest to the REAR on the machine, then, move the X gantry FULLY TO THE REAR, THEN and only then attach the belts from around the pulleys in front, to the open belt slots in the rear.... Installing BOTH belts when the gantry is somewhere in the "middle" of the Y axis travel, you are NOT assured that both sides/belts are properly synced/aligned together - in the same relative position as each other.... I hope others will catch this mis-information and assemble their new machines following a "proper" procedure.... AND at 13:44 Don't grab the belts when moving the frame, your just stretched the hell out of them...
Thank you. Is it worth starting out with this or going for the cheaper Ray 5 20W. I am an enthusiast wishing to engrave and cut.
If you intend to do a lot of cutting of 1/4" or thicker materials, then the 40W is a better choice. If mostly engraving and cutting 1/8" plywood, then the Ray 5 is fine. It all depends on end use.
It is kinda like MOTORCYCLES.... You buy a "small" bike, then, two weeks later you want a BIG ONE............. a 30-36 watt laser will perform good "engraving/marking" while having the higher power to cut more, better, FASTER....
How do you adjust the homing speed on a longer B1
Change the $25 setting to a higher number. If using Lightburn, this can be done from the Console.
Any way you can possibly make a video of setting up wireless for this thing
There are two reasons I do not use wireless. First, and most important, is if there is a dropped packet in the wireless transmission, the project is ruined. My second reason is that the wireless in the shop is 5G. The laser only supports 2.4G. I never use a wireless connection for anything "important".
@@rogersshop very good info never thought about that Iv always dedicated wired but can’t figure out how to upgrade the firmware
I Just bought this powerhousee
Hi am in botswana and wld like to buy it kindly put in touch with the manufacturer

I am in botswana how can I order one
Try this: s.zbanx.com/r/f5JZrNtSGkHn and see if they ship to your Country.
Out of curiosity, which driver did you use? I'd seen a video saying the base Laser GRBL was the only one that worked, but that Lightburn defaulted to a newer one that caused the laser power to 'stick' on for want of a better term.
I have a Neje A40640 (10w) on the 3s chassis (540mm*850mm), and it's MAX speed is 1000mm/m. I'm really looking to upgrade, but a lot of the work I do needs the larger bed size, so it's kind of up in the air whether it's worth the extra $1000 for the things I don't use the larger bed for. All the new 30-40w lasers will fit in the bottom corner of my Neje lol.
Default driver. I don't use Laser GRBL.
What kind of goggles are those that you have on?
Cloudray. Not cheap, but high quality: amzn.to/3j82Llp
Nice video great video looks like an awesome machine 30 watt output should have be able to handle some stuff one day I will own one
I just bought the 40 watt. I can't wait to assembly and give it
Hi Roger,
I just finished assembling my new B1. Upon homing, the x axis limit switch is not contacted by the laser module bracket. It looks like it should move at least another 12mm X- to contact the switch but stops solidly. I don't see any way of adjusting it. Starting to wonder if the mounting holes for the switch were machined out of location. When your B1 is homed in the x axis how close is the module bracket to the stepper motor? Any other ideas? Thanks
I'm not at a location where I can look at it, but I had no problem with the X axis. On the Y axis, there are two sets of mounting holes. One for the 20 watt and a second for the 30 Watt. I don't recall if the same is on the X axis gantry, but you could take a look.
That's cool
This is a beautiful laser. I will have to save my couch change for this one! It certainly looks amazing!
Don’t do it longer doesn’t stand behind their products at all been fighting for a month with them
@@chrisciraldo4935 It is funny that you posted this. I ended up buying a Creality Falcon 10W and it is working great for a fraction of the price for the Longer B1. I realize they don't compare to each other due to Longer's 30-W, but I am happy with my choice. Thanks for looking out!
I. Plan on getting this Lazer so thank you for the video.
Could you please give me the outside dimension and hight I have some plexiglass that I might use to make a box of some tipe to control the sound and smoke.
I just purchased a Longer B1. I hope to see more videos on it, to help me set it up and use it.
More coming soon
How has yours been Iv had nothing but bad luck with mine
@@chrisciraldo4935 Using it in a production-type setting and no problems.
Ya I think I got a dud unit and they won’t fixnit
@@chrisciraldo4935any luck contacting them?
Mine has arrived today I can’t wait for more videos of it I’m building tonight and trying the test you showed I made one in lightburn for test but do you have a better created file than the stock
