    One suggestion I thought of. I don't know if this applies to forex ( I'm not really a forex guy) , but I can apply it to ETF Bull / bear pairs BITO/BITI , TQQQ/SQQQ.
    When the price reaches the next grid level, instead of selling 100 percent of the bull or the bear, I would sell a percentage like 90 percent only. I keep 10 percent to hedge against runaways. This will lower the profits, but provides some protection against worst case scenarios.
    It is important to understand that not all brokerages allow you to match which shares to sell, if you bought the same equity at different times for different prices. Most will have the FIFO/LIFO. Neither will work here.

    • @erictan9274
      @erictan9274 2 роки тому +1

      So you would run buy and sell grid on TQQQ and buy and sell grid on SQQQ. Each time you take profit you will only do 90% tp?

  • @maximosh
    @maximosh 9 місяців тому

    This method also works with any sized grid combinations. Example: 1st level 20 pips, 2nd level 30pips, 3rd level 40 pips etc.
    Percentages of the average daily range might also be feasible on ranging pairs.

    i've been using this kind of EA for morethan a year and it makes me money. My EA opens 10 grid buy stop and sell stop 5 grid step with stoploss and trailling stop, very safe and low DD. I used good indicator to open the trades. This one works with good coding. thanks

    Hi Mr. Arthur, Thank you for your great work. Could you please explain how to add the framework for the expert to work? Or do I get to learn my way around it if I watch the complete framework videos?

    • @OrchardForex
      @OrchardForex  2 роки тому +1

      Whether you download the framework as a zip or clone the repo you will have a directory structure in the download like MQL\Include\Orchard\...
      Just copy the Ordhard part into your MQL4 or MQL5 include. Using it is more complex and yes you should see the videos to understand but the download also includes examples in MQL\Experts.

    Fantastique. Thanks for showing us this alternative way. I'm new to this and I have been looking at using some forex strategies with Equity ETFs. For example, BITI and BITO are two crypto ETFs that run in opposite directions. I'm curious if anyone here has been able to program grid strategies with these non forex instruments. Or with TQQQ/SQQQ ...etc.

    Instead of closing out the winning trade as the price goes up to the next level and reopening the same position, isn't it better to just hold on the first winning trade and just add one more short at each level up? This way you won't lose as much from fees and spreads. Also, how do you open both long and short positons at the same time, do you need multiple accounts at different brokers?

    • @OrchardForex
      @OrchardForex  2 роки тому +2

      There are several possible improvements and I mention in the reader that there is another coming but for this video I have remained true to the strategy as documented

    • @benjaminmaina1896
      @benjaminmaina1896 Рік тому +1

      @@OrchardForex You need the partial closes along the way because a closed trade is money in your pocket (zero risk). You might leave it open then it reverses before hitting the next grid level and turns from gain to zero or a negative.

    What if we stopped at level 3 instead, with 3 wins and 3 losses for break even? All the ones and twos would close in profit, all threes would be scratch. Why go to the 4th level when everything gets blown away? I am legitimately asking this question because honestly there may be something wrong with this logic that I am overlooking. Can we stop it at level 3 and start over?

    • @OrchardForex
      @OrchardForex  Рік тому +3

      If you just stop at level 3 without waiting for a retracement you will close at a loss.

    Well, if the price will continue to go down, all the way under the first grid, you will get a much more loses, unless you will constantly manually edit a stop loss summ. It is espetially crusial, when you sleep, and in dreams you cannot controle your grid.
