I'm watching this retrospectively and I had a question about the answer to Question 1. In the question stem, the language specifically says, "Which of the following PEOPLE..." I followed along with the elimination of answers B and D. But my initial thought was A instead of C because answer C did not refer to a person. How can I improve on that if I get too caught up in a word in the question stem?
just gotta keep practicing and practicing. i get messed up on those silly misreadings also. with practice and time on your side, u will eventually get better bro. hope this helps 💯
As I’ve been practicing, I have had had to make the same adjustment. It’s not incorrect to consider the details outside of the context of the test. However, the MCAT writers do not seem to be concerned with the details such as you described. Other preparers have had the same experience. The consensus seems to be when it comes down to these technicalities, focus instead on the overall meaning, purpose, idea and do not get into the technical details to make the final decision.

As someone having the same inclination, I am wondering how you ended up doing on the CARS section, if you would be open to sharing.
Thank you so much
