I get that sometimes using ancient words from the scriptures may describe something better to those that understand them, but what good are they to those that don't? If (purified) consciousness itself is our true nature, as he claims, doesn't that contradict the no-self (anatta) and impermanence (anicca) doctrine? And isn't that closer to Vedic Brahmanism and Hinduism (where the spiritual goal is to become one with Brahma, a kind of purified consciousness) than to early Buddhism?
