Question, what’s your take on the “City National Bank” CRYSTAL CARD which also has the priority pass and great features….that’s on my radar next…really curious on your take because you fail to mention it in this video….
Was a great card and talked about it in the past, but cancelled after they changed the benefits and hiked the annual fee back in 2019.
@@AskSebby got it
10/10 video. Loved using CSR in 2021. Headed to Venture X for 2022.
My favorite for lounge access is still the Ritz-Carlton, even though it’s only available via product change. Unlimited guests, free additional cardholders, and restaurant access. Plus, the thud that the card makes when you drop those sweet 29 grams of full-metal card on the table, it makes me feel like such a cool kid 😎
I’m so jelly of Sebby’s grandfathered lower annual fee tho, I wonder if he still has it.
Big airport lounge fan right here, esp. airline-owned & operated ones 👊✈️ So much better than #TerminalLife
Your vids are always helpful. Thanks for the inspiration, cheers to a great 2020
Happy new year! :)
I love your channel, and I love the airport lounge experience!
Thank you! :)
The best card is the American Express Platinum Card, Centurion access, Delta lounge access and Priority Pass.
No restaurant credit :'/ but barely any ppl use it anyways
They’d say its waaay to expensive but if properly used there are ways to make it a keeper card (depends on your lifestyle and location)
Delta Skyclub is amazing when you’re at a Delta Hub, like Atlanta. I wish it came with a free guest though.
@@Devil_Dog_Ultra you might be surprised but phone insurance is possible with no annual fee cards (Chase Flex, Wells Fargo). Purchase insurance is easy to get with much cheaper Chase Sapphire family or Amex Gold / BCP cards. Car rental insurance is much better with cheaper Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Platinum has its unique perks but what you mentioned you can get cheaper or for free.
@@Alex-zn1zu for my business the Annual few is waved so no one beats that.
Thank you for your content Sebby . ❤️🔥
I am in process to test the best CC for our family. I tried Chase Sapphire Preferred with the Priority pass. I didn't care for the lounge it was to basic and at the other side of the airport but I love the Card. I am using united club so far, I love the convenience of the lounge next to the gate and the club are really nice. I transfer my point between those cards without problem. But I think united club card can do better in the benefits. Open to try new good ones. Thanks for the great information
I guess we'll have to wait for round 2 for Priority Pass. I would just treat this like a bonus. Often the lounges are very basic and some don't even have a bathroom inside. Also I'm frequently rejected because the lounge is full.
I liked how you showcased cards I didn’t even know about. I’ve always just thought Amex plat. I will agree lounge access is a game changer hence why I finally went Amex. We had a 10hr layover in Mexico once. We did a lounge and what a game changer. Also we like your jokes =]
Great video - can't wait to see the video on Amex Platinum lounge access as well!
Great video Sebby. Looking to get into AMEX myself. Just don't have a need to spend a lot of money for a welcome bonus.
I used to use lounges more, but am lately finding the lines for some are too long to be worth it. My most recent terminal in CDG didn't have one that I could access free.
Great review on Airport lounges and great haircut!
My setup is the AMEX platinum for centurion and delta club access and Venture X for Capital One lounges and priority pass restaurants. Neither are my everyday spend cards tho.
Very informative!!
The AA card also gives you group 4 boarding.... Even on web special aadvantage tickets. Not having to worry about running out of overhead space... That's a huge side benefit.
I have the AA Card, and only wish for the $450/year you would get PP. They also give you a large credit limit which helps with those business class pacific routes; plus, it's easy to get credit limit increase with this card.
thank you very much happy new year
Great info for the consumer!
Does the Venture X TSA and Global Entry benefit work the same way, where the $100 credit can be earned for each additional user? Thanks!
Hi. I have quest about the venture x $300 annual travel credit . They annual give us $300 to book for travel, or you have to book travel first then they give you $300 back later?
And you know how much they coaverage for travel insurance? Cuz they didnt mention about it. ( like chase sapphire reserve i saw they cover from $500k-$1mil )
I have Venture One and think about to upgrade for venture x.
I usually buy a one day pass at my favorite lounge as typically 2 cocktails inside an airport bar would cost nearly the same.
Great video! Would love some sort of breakdown about which banks allow moving points between cards, esp to their high-tier travel cards. After learning about the “Chase trifecta” I assumed all banks allow moving points between cards, but US Bank does not allow moving points from their other Altitude cards. What about Capital One? AmEx? It would be sad to get a high-end travel card and then not be able to use it like you thought you could.
The issue is moving points from [bank] to [airline/hotel partner] where a lot of the upside is. Citi, Chase, Amex, and recently Capital One, all allow for this.
This is how people book first and business class flights dropping $5k to $20k :)
Does the chase eating credit work for the chase preferred? Also, how do you get the credits? You just pay with it and they reimburse you?
@asksebby What do you think about the priority pass lounges explicitly excluding Amex members? All priority pass lounges at LAX have signs that say no American Express members.
Amex Hilton Honors Surpass offers PP with 10 complementary visits in a calendar year.
Per TPG add the Virgin Clubhouses in SFO, JFK, DC, Newark, and Johannesburg to the list. Yesterday in Seattle, I waited 25 minutes in the Centurion line, just to get to the check-in desk and be told it would be another 25 minutes. This has become too common. Went to the Delta Skyclub and walked right in. To me, Club access (and concierge) is the only Amex thing I prefer over Chase in the travel game.
Since we're going for the Chase Ink Premier, I am going to convert my Spark Cash into Spark Miles. Hopefully there's a Venture X Business (Spark Miles Plus) by the time we product change.
Fingers crossed!
I would recommend going MP Explorer+MP Business then downgrading Explorer to Gateway. Effective $99 AF with a 5K yearly point bonus like the Jetblue Plus card. Tempering expectations of United lounges overall as they are okay at best. The one thing I'll say for United Club card is that you can bring a guest every time unlike the Delta Reserve. AA Executive is a must for AA flyers with a nice lounge at their home airport.
Other than that, the USBank Altitude Reserve four PP passes may work best for the occasional flyer and its easy to recoup the AF. Ritz card has the best overall Priority Pass.
Glad to know that I'm not alone on UC's being meh. Would you say Admiral > SkyClub > UC?
I would agree with that. Skyclubs and Admirals go from position 1 to position 2 depending on where you are. Surprising gems in some airports and complete duds in others.
Do you have an opinion on Admirals Club vs Priority Pass? I have the CSP and fly AA (Platinum Pro) mostly through DFW. Their change to Loyalty Points means I’ll get one card but am unsure on upgrading to CSR vs AA Executive for lounge access. 15+ flights/ yr.
Hi, saw ur vid. What about the Amex Vonvoy? Is it worth it.
Thank you. Loved the vid.
Just got my Chase Sapphire Reserve card and I am trying to optimize all the benefits!
I just use the amex greencard. I dont travel so often, so the credit given for lounge access is fine for me
Great video. I was wondering, if i have priority passes through the Chase reserves card and it allows me to bring 2 guests for free. Does it mean i can go to any PP lounge bringing 2 guests? Would the lounge know that I'm allowed to bring 2 guests through the PP card or should i tell them beforehand?
Are kids considered as guests or is there a fee for kids going in?
Given the sparse travel lately, and likely in the future which of the following do you recommend; using points to book business or first class seats right out of the gate, or use points to book premium economy seats and then either using a lowball bid upgrade, or just asking at check-in to save some points and try and capitalize on the lower capacity of flights right now? Maybe even a video on your preferred pandemic strategy would be great.
I would book F/J out the gate. No point gambling, especially when other people might have upgrade instruments (Delta RUCs/GUCs).
Ask Sebby, witch airline is best transfer for chase point for business class to Europe.
Have AMEX plat and applied for VentureX and was denied because of credit inquiries. Now I'm going after AA miles and Hilton points for Maldives.
Hey Sebby, thanks for the video. Got a question for you. I am looking for a CC for myself and my partner (both of us are freelancers so no fixed income) we are Australians. With unlimited lounge access mainly in Europe. (not just the useless 2 access a year). I am really struggling to find something suitable. Your recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks
I worked for American Airlines and all the works here do that with credit card. We do it where we split the price of annual price it’s definitely is worth it!
Seems like a no-brainer, if you have trustworthy people!
I got venture X due to your recommendation. I have not use it yet for lounge access. What are vegan options like in the lounges?
Hey Sebby, could you please make a video on the DBS Visa Insignia card? Thank you
Awesomeness thanks
Hey sebby can you please make a video for non rev passenger’s and what credit cards are BEST for non rev that includes lounges hotels car guest etc… i havent seen anyone make a video on it but it be a BIG help for us’
Hi! My first credit card I earned was the Capital One Platinum card, should I (after 6 months) get a Chase credit card or Citi? i’m confused. I’m starting to travel due to work about 1-2x per year. Could be 3x but they would also like to have me do some public transportation. thx!
Thank you
Can you do a review of the new Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite? I feel like it's a good pick for anyone in the top rewards tier. I currently have the old Premium Rewards card and am thinking of upgrading.
When adding someone as an authorized user will their credit be run?
introduction video of the lounge is in which airport looks amazing
So Sebby, quick question: if i have a chase sapphire reserve card but my partner doesn’t, can she accompany me into the priority pass lounges/restaurants? Or will she have to pay a day pass or pay for her own food?
Hello Sebby, I heard a lot about the Dragon Pass. Do you know anything about it?
Is there Priority pass from AmEx Platinum and the one from BOA diamond elite back card the same?
If you live in a Delta hub like Atlanta, then the Amex platinum has to be the pick. I haven't gotten much out of my CSR Priority Pass membership.
I'm curious if you personally got the BOA Premium Rewards Elite (the newest offering from BoA).
iirc, even thought you can add 4 more AUs for free on that card, you can only have one PP membership per account.
What I'm curious about is whether that PP membership allows the member to bring any complimentary guests; and does it cover PP restaurants? It doesn't seem to be on the terms and conditions as of Aug 2022. And their customer service team cannot answer those questions either.
Let me know if you have any insights there!
Chase needs to make the DoorDash credit permanent and also LYFT Pink for the CSR! So confusing waiting for an update on those for 2022.
Yep! Also, tough to make videos because I want to minimize "updates" or revision ones for the rest of 2022 😬
Yep. I was verbatim saying this 2 days ago wondering why Chase didn't give a monthly DoorDash credit like Amex. I would love to get the CSR if it had something like that.
Hey Sebby! Just a thought for the Venture X downgrade question. Some people might have this question if they think there is a possibility that later on a major life change might happen, resulting in them no longer traveling or using the travel credit for a couple years. Instead of canceling the card, or eating the annual fee payments, they want to see if there is a downgrade option instead.
I don't know, that's just something I thought of when you mentioned it in the video.
Very fair :)
Adding to this comment, is the $300 annual credit issued roll over to the next year or is it use or loose it type of thing?
@@cloud9520 As far as I know, these credits are typically “use it or lose it” among most cards.
@@AskSebby Wait so what's the answer? Can the Venture X be downgraded?
Edit: I am indeed one of those people where it may be the case in the future that I can't put a trip on my credit card (but can get a trip paid on my behalf by my job, for example, which can't count towards the $300)
Another reason could be is that they got a new Amex Platinum card or Chase Saphire Reserve etc., and can't justify having 2 or more high fee credit cards that they can't use to full extent.
Sebby, great video as always. With Wells Fargo revamping their cards, would you place them as mid or late game?
Mid-game.
So from what I found, you cannot lock the Citi AA card. I expected to be able to and was sadly told no.
I prefer the United club and explorer cards for lounge access but I lean towards the Explorer more than the club card. From my experience priority pass in sfo air china lounge didn’t work for me as a guest.
I’ve had good experience with United clubs
Do I need priority pass card when getting the $28 restaurant credit? Will it work using apple pay?
for the venture x, do u get the $ 300 credit every year?
Pp is always a hit or a miss depending on how busy the partner airlines lounges are they tend to stop accepting those folks .
What do you think about Danske Bank platinum?
I need to travel to thailand with many bags of personal stuff. which card is best for free or discount for most bags? ty
Mr sebby where is the introduction video of the airport lounge located
Venture X, I’m just hoping the sign up bonus sticks around
Applied last night for Sun Trust now Truist Financial aka 6th Largest Bank in the US. This Morning application approved $6500 😁Card #20 🤑💪🏿
How does this work for the International traveler?
Hilton aspire and surpass amex card? I think they have priority pass access.
Got rejected for venture X about 2 months ago. I had opened chase reserved 1 month prior to applying. Good credit score, how long to wait to reapply?? Any tips?
Happy New Year! I wish PHX had better lounge options.
Happy new year!
American Express Platinum. Centurion. The best for lounge access.
Hmm.. how can I spend 10k on the Venture X card? Does plastiq take it for mortgage?
Absolutely worth it.
So what is the best card for international travel?
My family and I (4 total) will be traveling through Miami (MIA) and have a 4-5 hour to kill and flying American. So I am trying to find the best card and lounge to use while there. Thank you for the help.
I have the Amex Hilton with 90 usd annual fee and i have 10 visits to Priority Pass plus 2 guests and i get a free night at a 4-5 star hotel per year
What happens if you split the bill with someone, do you get $56 off the bill or is it one card per bill?
I had one from Amex Platinum but never used it… and I travelled a lot for the past year
Wow me as well!
Do you have to use these cards to purchase your airline tickets to get access to the lounges?
Surprised you didn't mention the hilton aspire, it has PP but also OP if you stay at hilton often
Edit: Saw you are making a part 2 with Amex cards :)
Hilton Surpass is also great for lounge access if you want a lower annual fee card. 10 PP passes and a $95 annual fee. But of course, there are more benefits to the card beyond that.
I was waiting for surpass and aspire…
@@youtube.experiment Surpass, Aspire, Hilton Biz, Bonvoy Brilliant, Plat, Plat Biz, Green? :) Just made sense to do a Part 2 given the large list.
True, but remember the no restaurant aspect of AMEX PP cards.
Hi Sebby. Great video as usual. Can you recommend some good options for EU citizens, or perhaps point towards channels that cover that region? Thanks
AFAIK, EU is mostly an Amex game given interchange caps.
I tried to use CSR Priority pass at LAX Tom Bradley International before taking off to Italy but none of lounge accepted as they closed applicable lounges. Such a disappoint.
What about the AMX Hilton Surpass card for $95 a year. 10 priority pass visits a year.
Capital One and Amex Plat.
We fly out of LAX, does anyone know if there are any decent/good lounges worth going to at LAX?
Was there ever a part 2?
There are a few cards left I want. One of them is the elephant in the room (for lounge access). 🙂
CSP, United Infinite Club (i live in Houston) and maybe the Venture X?
I am still trying to figure out who is the end game issurer? You mention that on many videos I’m always like what cars are you talking about?
Minute 5:50 you said $45 after the limit lounge visit....it's 45 for you and your two guests or 45 per guest per visit?
Can you make a video explaining the reasoning for the order of credit card issuers? I understand chase being first because of 5/24 and amex being an end game but the others I don’t see the reasoning
1) Starting clocks (most have 24 month clocks)
2) BofA and others have their own 2/3/4 rules based off velocity
3) Amex seems happy with crazy velocity as long as you put decent spend on their cards (plus "once in a lifetime language" on their cards)
My question is don't you already have lounge access every time you travel with business class or above? Why pay more for lounge access then?
Hey, did you miss amex hilton surpass? 10 visits of PP for 95 dollars better than most I guess
Great video just focusing on this key benefit. CSR and the AA World Elite sound the best to me. I really question the value of the US Bank Altitude Reserve if you can't transfer the points out (did I hear that right?) Do you just use those points on their portal?
Finally, I hate how you have to refer to 'end game issuer'! Are they like the 'Martha' of the credit card game?!?!
Portal or they have a direct redemption option. Still 1.5 CPP which is solid but I'm looking for upside 🙃
@@AskSebby OK thanks, good to know. I am more familiar with the good earning potential with the USB Alt Res, then it's point redemption.
Amex Platinum was given the finger
0:34 Amex has a LOT of lounge cards so will do a separate video (Bonvoy Brilliant, Aspire, Surpass, Biz Plat, Plat, Green, DL Reserve, DL Reserve Biz)
@@AskSebby ah yes my bad. This is very exciting to hear
Excited to see Capital One get into the lounge game in the future
Can't wait to check out one of their lounges!
@@AskSebby I’m thinking hard about getting Venture X, Ive seen your other recent videos about it. The 6 months to get the bonus is lengthy but doable, if I rack up the $10k spend hypothetically within 4 months, do you know if the bonus will be credited right away? Or will it be after the 6 month period? Just wanting to get a gauge for future churning possibilities
What's the end game card?
Priority Pass members where rejected at O'hare in mid December 2021. Said there lounge was too full (although they allowed business class ticket holders & other membership cards). They specfically targeted prioty pass members. They had a sign up too. Thinking there might be too many users nowadays but thats speculation. Also noticed lots of lounges are closed in jan 2022 & dec 2021 fyi in other airports
Priority pass is definitely best utilized in Europe, more effectively. I never got turned away from the 30 or so lounges I went to in Europe last year, but at ord international terminal I have been rejected every time lol.
@@maxwellstern776 thats been my experience too. Thanks for reply
Priority pass barely have any lounge you can use now
