The quarter categories for the Freedom Flex sometimes stacks. Since the card current has %5 cash back on restaurants for its Q2 category. And the card already has an intrinsic 3% cash back year round. You get 8% back for restaurants in quarter 2 instead.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Savor card (not Savor One). It's my 90% of the time card, while the other 10% is the Chase Amazon card. The Savor card has helped me build a credit score of 828, and my 8 month old son also has a custodial one that sits in a drawer. He also has an 828 credit score.
As an avid Costco shopper, I think Citi Costco card is a must especially if you’re an Executive member. You basically get 8% back on gas and 4% any other purchase through Costco. Only downside is you can only redeem the cash back as a statement, but it’s helped me get my membership for free. Haha
Yeah it’s a gift card not statement credit…and secret if you buy less then you use on the credit, they will usually give you cash. Go buy like one item.
Just wondering what should people with short credit histories do? How long I’m between a new card? If you have a thin file should you add an installment payment to increase mix? I want to add a SSL and a second card but my History is only 1.5 years. My scores are 704 TransUnion and 761 and 770 adding new trade account is going to ding any age. Will the mix of accounts and higher credit limits gains offset avg length ding? How long would it take to offset?
I’m thinking of getting the chase freedom unlimited but I’m a bit on the edge about it cause the chase sapphire with a 95$ annual fee seems better but I also want to apply for the Amex gold card later on. So I’m a bit confused as to what to do here. I also just recently got accepted to the Amex blue cash everyday card. Any thoughts on what to do?

Question for you. In case you may help. My daughter has Navy Fed through her mother. My daughter is also an adult now. Would she be able to get me into Navy Fed?
@@angelgregioyes she can, you can honestly do it yourself I believe. I’m 22 and my father, mother and sister got in by just my name and branch of service I believe.
Lots of cards here are master cards or Amex & not going to be useful at Costco or sometimes overseas. Chase cards are expensive but it versatile as they are visa cards.
All those should be payable with a credit card. Although some landlords use old systems and thus need to charge a fee for using a credit card. Also, make sure your combined credit limit is high enough to cover the payments.
Nice list. I always hate to see the US Bank Cash+ card off of these lists. Very underrated card imo. You get to CHOOSE the 5% cash back categories. Not to mention one of the few cards that gets 5% back on home utilities! I usually go for 5% back on home utilities and internet/streaming services.
The effective annual fee for venture x is wrong. Because you need to buy something on their travel portal eventually. However, for sapphire reserve, if you cancel the $300 flight ticket, the $300 will go back to your pocket 100%, means the effective fee is $250, with some monthly or annually credit
Now that the Savor card has been changed, is there any substitution as a "partner card" to the Venture X? Will you still be able to move miles as easily?
So I always make an updated version of this video every year and the last few years the Amex gold has made the list. But throughout the year as I make other videos, I get direct feedback from comments about what cards people like and dislike. I also factor in my own use of cards that I like and use in my own life. Based on all of that, the Amex gold has fallen off the list this year There’s also very credible rumors about annual fee increases and changes to come. So compared to other cards out there, the gold card is still good - but for less and less people.
@@Daniel_Braun, that’s a very good point. I’ve also heard that as well. Would you recommend getting the freedom Unlimited or the freedom flex first? if you have the Sapphire preferred already. I know I probably did this backwards lol
Honestly doesn’t matter too much the order. Personally id say Freedom Flex because it can be the better earning card. But Freedom Unlimited is gonna be used the most I’d say
I have got an offer by mail for 90k bonus points on the Chase Sapphire preferred card. Is it worth it? Further, what happens if i am unable to spend 4k within 3 months? How much points do I get?
Depends if you like annual fee cards and travel. If you’re team Cashback the preferred doesn’t make sense unless you want pan on traveling. If you don’t hit the minimum spend you don’t get the 90k bonus but you do get your regular points
So it's currently the end of August 2024. I just learned that the Paypal Mastercard slashed it's 2 percent cash back on all purchases rate down to 1.5. What is recommended as the current best 2 percent on all purchases Credit Card?
Yup. I only use it for Uber through PayPal now and to make certain PayPal buys. I think the best 2% pick right now is Citi Double Cash (good to excellent). They include fair credit, but I don't trust that. If you have a Wells Fargo bank account you can apply for Wells Fargo Active Cash Card (very good to excellent). Again, if you ask me, I'll say you need excellent credit. They are very picky. Citi is picky but not as much as WF. There's also Synchrony Premier World Mastercard (excellent credit) but the only way to redeem is as a credit statement, which is ok, not flexible, but ok. There are a few more but they are regional.
I'm a bit new to all this. What is the difference between 1% cashback versus 1x points? Does it really depend on the card policy or is one generally better than the other?
From my understanding: 1% cashback or 1x point means you spend $100 = 100 points = $1 cashback. That is, if you redeem the points you get $1, but some cards allow you to use the points directly for greater value such as their sponsored travel options.
I’m glad Amex platinum isn’t included. I would say it is probably the single most overrated card. I signed up for the signup bonus and cancelled it. It’s good for that, but not much else. The multipliers are terrible
Although freedom unlimited is 1.5x points, you can get 2 cents per point making it essentially 3x per dollar if spent towards travel/hotels. Also if you have the Sapphire Preferred you get 25% more points
Comment above describes it perfectly. If Wells Fargo adds better transfer partners then that will easily beat out Chase. But Chase’s ability to consistently get better redemption value from transfer partners and even the travel portal makes it the better option for most people. (Transferring points is still better on CSP/CSR compared to travel portal if the value is there)
That’s another card that I’ve been liking more lately for more people. I’m still biased towards travel cards that have transfer partners because that’s the way that I personally like to earn/redeem rewards, but for some people I think the US banks Altitude Reserve is a good one to mentioned. Thanks for the comment on that one here 👍
I agree. That's my favorite card and I also have Chase and Amex points cards. The digital wallet category is so all encompassing that I have very little spending that only earns 2X.
im turning 18 this month and im tryna figure out whats a good card to start with cause soon i want a business card for my content creation stuff hopefully this helps or does anyone got more advice?
you can also match the savor one with the venture one to use for transfer partners. one of the spark cards too. thats what I'm doing for 0 annual fee and access to transfer partners. granted, the venture one is trash, but 0 AF.
Understandable concern. But it’s still very possible to book US award flights with international airlines through their airline alliances. I do it all the time and talked about it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/uIY268QxEGE/v-deo.htmlsi=dfljBoj5biRXCJzi Takes a bit of time and research, but very doable

Am I right, I have my Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred, and I can transfer my points from Freedom to Preferred????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yes!

Quick question if anyone can help out, are cash bonuses automatically added or how does that work, in the savor one for example?
I think they are awarded as points, you have to go in and redeem for cash
I'm also shocked not to see the Amex Gold. Why wasn't it included?
So I always make an updated version of this video every year and the last few years the Amex gold has made the list.
But throughout the year as I make other videos, I get direct feedback from comments about what cards people like and dislike. I also factor in my own use of cards that I like and use in my own life. Based on all of that, the Amex gold has fallen off the list this year
There’s also very credible rumors about annual fee increases and changes to come.
I'd also add the Redstone visa signature to this list and the Alliant signature visa.
Only is chase fu was 2%
Thoughts on Robinhood Gold card?
Great starting stats but they won’t keep it at that it isn’t possible. lol plus it has that membership fee so it’s really $50 a year.
Does the Bilt card work for mortgages the same way for rent payments?
Not yet. no.
I don’t understand why a dedicated cc fire gas..
Cash savings is way higher.
Why not the WF Active Cash over the Freedom Unlimited?
Although freedom unlimited is 1.5x points, you can get 2 cents per point making it essentially 3x per dollar if spent towards travel/hotels. Also if you have the Sapphire Preferred you get 25% more points
Comment above describes it perfectly. If Wells Fargo adds better transfer partners then that will easily beat out Chase. But Chase’s ability to consistently get better redemption value from transfer partners and even the travel portal makes it the better option for most people. (Transferring points is still better on CSP/CSR compared to travel portal if the value is there)
i didn't hear you mention the US Bank Altitude Reserve! it's a great cash back card
My first card was the Chase Freedom Unlimited which I think is a great one for beginners.
you can also match the savor one with the venture one to use for transfer partners. one of the spark cards too. thats what I'm doing for 0 annual fee and access to transfer partners. granted, the venture one is trash, but 0 AF.
Sucks that the UK doesn’t have much to offer!
Capital one doesn’t have us partners so it makes the transfer power weaker in my opinion
Understandable concern. But it’s still very possible to book US award flights with international airlines through their airline alliances. I do it all the time and talked about it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/uIY268QxEGE/v-deo.htmlsi=dfljBoj5biRXCJzi
Takes a bit of time and research, but very doable
Cap One has a twist. Booking travel with Cap One costs more to book than other sites.
Bonvoy brilliant card is best stay at marriot like a boss
Amex gold??
Didn't include Amex Gold. Kinda surprised.
India available this credit card
I spy a Penn State mug 😏🙌🏼
WE ARE!!
PENN STATE!!
Wells Fargo is gonna nerf that built card 😭
