Once you ride Fury 325, you’ll understand why gigas are B&M’s best. The speed and intensity on that thing is insane! Orion is also a fantastic ride. I haven’t ridden Leviathan yet through.
From a technical standpoint, B&M doesn’t consider their gigas as a separate model from their hypers, which means IMO the combination of the two as one model makes the hyper B&M’s absolute best.
I’m not arguing with stand ups as the bottom slot, but I have to say that Georgia Scorcher absolutely shocked me with how fun it was. Easily in the upper half of a park that has a really solid lineup without a bad coaster (now that GASM has been retracked). I absolutely hate Vortex at my home park, but for whatever reason in spite of having extremely similar elements, Georgia Scorcher was comfortable, butter smooth, and had a fun distribution of positive Gs.
@@mobetterent.gamerzunited2529 i rode Riddlers Revenge and Green Lantern. i ejoyed both of them. Vortex at Carrowinds was terrible... :) i think also the new one in Seaworld will be great.
I honestly would like to see a B&M Dive at SFOG. The lake where Blue Hawk stands would be perfect to feature a splash down and become the first park in the chain to have that element hypothetically if it were to happen
I love how your most popular video is how to get over your fear of coasters, but your second most popular video is every roller coaster accident in 2021. Absolutely what I would want to see if I was trying to get over my fear of coasters.
I'm actually on board with your Great Bear take, that second half after the immelmann loop uses the supports to its advantage and creates all these near misses that make it feel so much faster and thrilling. Also the pre-drop helix is so charming.
The large dive loops on Riddler's actually work, it eases the positive g's given how fast the ride is going so early in the layout. The Giga's hit differently, with Mako's first half probably feeling the closest in terms of sensation.
personally, my favorite B&N inverted is Black Mamba form Phantasialand, great first loop, nice other inversions, staying low to the ground flying between the african landscape, it's amazing!
The only wing coast I have been on is Thunderbird and that ride really surprised me with how great it was, well worth waiting in the long line for. I hope it isn't just a rare standout.
Standup coasters are a big no for me the next time. When I went to Six Flags Great Adventure I got the chance to ride on green lantern, I didn't know it was a standup coaster right when I got on it. My crotch did not like it at all, but I still went ahead and rode it, overall the ride was alright, but when I got off I felt a huge pain between my legs, I went home and saw that the area that's right under my crotch is bright red and some skin torn up. Never riding that one again.
I don't understand why people don't like B&M standup coasters. It isn't painful in any way for even a moment. The unique force on your feet in the massive loop on Riddler's is so fun.
In my experience, people's opinions on standups correlates with their height. The taller you are, the worse they are on your knees. Also, they're called nut crushers for a reason.
I've been attending theme parks since the early 70's, just love them. Carowinds in Charlotte has my favorite giga (Fury) and invert (Afterburn). They check off all of the boxes as far as what makes them tops in their classifications, IMO.
Their first coaster is a standup, because that is what they were building with Giovanola. It was their comfort zone. Which they immediately left by building Inverts 2 years later ^^
I agree with stand ups at the bottom, but Georgia Scorcher is a must ride for me whenever I visit Over Georgia. In the same take, Green Lantern at Great Adventure is a skip for me when I visit now a days.
Floorless coasters are hit or miss. Dominator and Medusa (SFDK) I would consider 2 must rides when visiting their respective parks. Medusa is easily #2 at SFDK, and Dominator is a unique-ish layout for a floorless. As for wing coasters, the only one I ever care to re-ride is Thunderbird, especially since it's my #2 at Holiday World. It's actually an incredible ride imo that holds a spot in my top 25.
B&M Giga's (as well as the mini-hypers) may not be hypers according to the standard definition, but you're ranking the models and according to B&M, Gigas and mini-hypers are part of the hyper coaster model. So you didn't have to count gigas anyway. The family inverts are also technically their own separate models. There's two in China. I think most thoosies would put them in last place, even under the stand-ups (for obvious reasons), though most thoosies of course haven't been to China.
I was thinking of this recently too, and I'd rank: 1: hyper/giga 2: flying 3: wing 4: dive 5: floorless 6: sit down 7: inverted 8: stand up I've never cared for over-the-shoulder restraints, as you have to put a lot of effort just to not have a painful headbanging ride. Inverted coasters also suck if you aren't in the front row, as you can't see anything past the seats in front of you. Also I will be riding the surf coaster for the first time soon, and I expect it could take the #3 spot
To be fair, if you're ranking every B&M "model", what thoosies call their gigas, are actually their hyper coaster model. Goliath @ La Ronde is also a hyper coaster model.
Dude, you need to visit the UK. Get on some of the original prototypes and classics....Galactica, Oblivion, Nemesis, The Swarm...The new shuttle, launch wing Jumanji thing is going to be interesting!!

The inversion on manta r great and if I built a flying coaster I’d include multiple pretzel loops. It’s my favorite inversion I love the rip ur face of intensity of the one on manta
Manta was such a memorable flying coaster, so good and it had great theming, i had a sunburn on my shoulders after the 6th time i rode it and jesus christ the pretzel loop ripped away my shoulder
Best Hyper i rode from B&M was Shambala. Fury 305 is a great Giga. Intamin also makes great great hyper and giga coasters like Intiminator 305. it's a masterpiece
I feel like if you rode Fury 325 you'd put Hypers on to #2. Hypers are absolutely amazing don't get me wrong but after riding Fury I was absolutely speechless and it ranked #2 on my overall favorite coasters
after finally getting on a floorless (hairaiser ocean park) its forces are great and the airtime hill is great i rank it 5th on my rankings (above wickerman but below stealth)
Great list and I agree with most of it. Hyper/Giga is my number 1 as well. I actually like the wing coasters the second best. They are so graceful and if you sit in the back row on the opposite side of the dive drop then you get absolutely whipped over the top of the first hill. Flying coasters are fun but the pretzel loop is by far my least favorite element on a coaster as it makes me feel like my head is going to explode.

I think B&M started with Stand-Up coasters because they wanted to differenciate themselves from sit down loopers by Arrow and to create a better selling point for the coasters than just an average sit down looper which parks would see as an unnecessary risk when Arrow was still open for business.
I rode tatsu 4 years ago and it was smooth graceful and amazing. And just a week ago I rode it again and tatsu was really rough and jerky imo. I was expecting you to dislike it.

I’m usually an airtime guy, and I absolutely love hypers, but the pure intensity and designs of inverts are euphoric. I also don’t think a giga is that different from a hyper, at least not enough to outrank the invert for me. Edit: Raptor is also my least favorite invert. Only one I’d say I dislike. I didn’t like Green Latern on my first ride through, but it got a lot better on a second ride through. I actually like standing up on a rollercoaster, and even if you don’t like it a lot of them have great layouts.
Medusa at discovery kingdom is a good ride. The only floorless B&M with a serpant turn, and it also has the 6th tallest verticle loop I believe too. Buuut...in the end, yeah...it's a B&M Floorless 😂😂

B&M may be the one of the most consistent manufacturers as far as their coasters go, but I find most B&M’s to be incredibly inconsistent from ride-to-ride on the same coaster. Any of their coasters with a Floorless train is probably the best example of this
I think wing coasters are worse than standups when both are done well, if you don’t ride it properly and try to sit on it then of course it will hurt, and also, standups are better than floorlesses because they’re more forceful and have better layouts
Standing coasters are honestly dangerous too, I once went on Riddler's Revenge and it's supposed to adjust to your height but the person before me was taller than me and it didn't, and I tried to get the ride operators' attention multiple times to no avail. I've come to appreciate what they do, but the hyper for me is hands down their masterpiece. If they ever build a giga that focuses on airtime, sign me up, but speed just isn't b&m's forte.
I think the only downside to the hypers are the trims. I get weather can account for speed loss but by now you should be able to design a coaster thsg doesnt need trims. If intamin can do it with a giga and several of their hypers than B&M do at least a 220 foot tall hyper without them
