I'm not a high gain player, but the plexi sounds are killer and the higher gain sounds are equally impressive. That thing sounds downright _mean_. I'm particularly impressed with how much impact notes and chords have without falling apart with that much gain. Colour me impressed. Henry Amplification should use this video on their page for the Pasadena Rose instead of the videos they have to "showcase" this amp. This video is way better. Great demo as always. 👍
Juniors/specials (I'm partial to Specials because I can't live without a neck pickup) are glorious. To hell with humbuckers and maple cap/boat anchor Les Pauls.
Glad to see you guys doing videos again that Henry amp sounds killer and the build looks great, thank Doug and Pat for all these great reviews that you do, Happy New Year to you both and your families.
Sounds great!! I am so glad I found you guys, this is the best show on UA-cam! Guitar tone has been more or less a black hole for me, I'm learning so much from you guys!
Good to see you guys again, I'm a little late to the show but better late than never. I'm not shopping amps but I always enjoy what you guys have to say. These old bones seem to benefit from the excuse to sit and have a beer or two. Cheers you liar ! ps - thanks again for your advice on the vol/tone relationships and other thoughts on my 345/stereo circuit some time back - I have made good use of the varitone no matter what anyone says about the "choke" - I recently added a Taurus/Servo II (surprising) to what it "sees" - tons of fun.
It is great seeing you guys back in action. (If you Google action shows on UA-cam, you guys are the fist to show up) Anyway, that is a very nice sounding amp based on listening through my monitors. My only concern is having to run the bass almost all the way down to keep the “mud” out. I’m also not a fan of all the switches to try to make it a do-all amp. I have experience, I have played in some of the nicest garages in Lebanon, Mo….a Mecca of music talent! (Ok Mecca might be a bit overstated) anyway, great show, and I would love to hear that amp in person. I currently do have two Victoria amps and a Dr Z Maz 18. My favorite of these for tone has to be my 45410 (59 Bassman) because of its versatility. GREAT SHOW AS ALWAYS.
Sounds kind of scratchy at 17:20 when you kicked the master in. Very good sounding amp overall though. 19:00 blew me away! Great job! Cheers to Henry Amps.👌
great sounding amp for sure , but nothing sounds better ( to me anyways lol ) then history proven Marshall and Fender combo , what ive been gigging as of late is my 86 JCM800 2204 412 ABY my 96 Fender HRD with Marshall 410 cab i dig it not really vintage gear but man that tone will certainly bring a tear to your eye ,,, always enjoy ur show thank u for the content ,,,
Sounds like a great rig for sure. I'm currently using an only Marshall 1987x paired up with my old Fender Twin Reverb. I'm running a closed-back 2x12 for the 1987x, I use the Twin Reverb as my "Wet" and run the Marshall dry. Playing guitar is pretty much limitless, I think that is what has kept me interested all these years.
"Always after vintage tone" - but of course. I love it when the vol/tone gets cranked and it isn't allowed to get fizzed out. I think they call that experience eh.
@@gussywellz9714 Warehouse Guitar Speakers are a great option. The WGS also offer's Vaughn Skow pickups, I can't say enough great things about those pickups.
Doug and Pat, thank you for your entertaining and informative videos! I’d like to better understand what I’m hearing. After the two mics on the Marshall slant cab in the iso booth, where does the signal go?
The mics go into a pre amp that converts them to digital and into the Luna mixer, just like they were on two different sources. Then they are mixed together and panned about 9:00 and 3:00. The two microphones have complimentary sounds to each other. You see it a lot on recording sessions. I hope that explains it. D&P
I know, P90 and JCM but I think this is the closest you've come to the First Album tone since the very first P&D show (or maybe the phrasing has gotten better)
What people havn't figured out yet, that you figured out a long time ago, is that these marshall type amps don't need pedals. Still curious about your take on the Laney Lion Heart 5 watt. Best Wishes
I am going to go out on a limb and say the reason the amp is called "Pasandena Rose" is because Edward Van Halen's main Marshall head was bought by him from the Pasadena Rose palace.😁
"American Sounds", +1 to that Sir (I love me a good Tweed or Black Panel Fender). That is why Jim Marshall chose Fender's 5F6-A Circuit as a starting point.
Still one of the best shows on the tube. Doug and Pat, you rock!
I CONCUR !
Agreed!
100% Agree with You
You want to learn something old or new and laugh a little along the way ? - come visit these guys for awhile.

Fantastic tone! Full on 70's juice!
Great amp! But that junior is just stellar, especially in Dougs hands! The power of the single P90 is apparent.
Can’t click fast enough when you guys drop a video!!!!
Nice tone.Love the growl.

Very authentic and vintage sounding along with the balls of the Mod option. Sweet !!
Love the Sir Henry Amps! If I could only afford one....
I'll bet that Jose setting is pretty brutal. Over all great demo guys, thank you!
Your shows always make me happy. Such nice gear, great playing and tones.
Sounds great!!!!!! And awesome you guys are back
Ah yes, my favorite guitar...Les Paul jr...i love P90 pickups. Best of both worlds...Leslie West was cranking the LPjr and had awesome tone.
Outfit is the perfect cover to roam safely in the rose city.
Could listen to em all day .........and sometimes I do ❤

Made the first day back to work after the holiday break so much better. Thank you, guys!! Great episode.
Another Outstanding Show Boys 🎉thanks
Happy New year guys from England 🎉
Great sounding amp!! Versatile and looks great!!
Sounds good to my ears. Looking forward to hearing the 2553.

Everybody thinks EVH when they hear plexi but my favorite plexi tone was led Zeppelin’s Song remains the same movie. Sounds great.
“Plexis” have amazing clean tone too. They’re just a great classic amp.
Page 's was heavily modified for headroom and punch.

That signature inside the cab just made the video for me. I need a plexi like amp as soon as I move out of this apartment 😢
Try the UA Lion…
w0w. Yer not DEAD. !! well Pat looks a lil crusty 😀. About time I got some content
Was going to make the trip to wake you up. .
Sounds like someone took a long trip out of town without notification.
I agree my favorite live tone is page at MSG 73' TSRTS
Why is PAT holding my guitar @00:02? 😁 That looks exactly like my True historic R9. 👍

Hi Guys, with the 4x12 cab elsewhere in an isolation booth, how are you hearing the guitar/amp sound in the room?
The iso booth has a door and we open it to hear the room sound about as much as we need to hear the amp but not go deaf. D&P
@@DFraserHomes - I am always thinking about that. Us old guys are doing something right if we can still hear.
Doug and Pat, thank you for your entertaining and informative videos! I’d like to better understand what I’m hearing. After the two mics on the Marshall slant cab in the iso booth, where does the signal go?
Good Question

The two microphones have complimentary sounds to each other. You see it a lot on recording sessions. I hope that explains it. D&P
When is Billy Gibbons coming onto the show?
That 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior is sweet. But my 1957 is sweeter ❤
I know, P90 and JCM but I think this is the closest you've come to the First Album tone since the very first P&D show (or maybe the phrasing has gotten better)
I think mayhaps: "Whoomph" (?)

P90s… yes please.
Whats the name of the song on the intro and played by who? Sounds something like Les Paul would play.
I am going to go out on a limb and say the reason the amp is called "Pasandena Rose" is because Edward Van Halen's main Marshall
head was bought by him from the Pasadena Rose palace.😁
I tend to agree with you, it totally makes sense when you consider the amplifier's "José" mod!
Doug and Pat you were supposed to pass along the contact info for the gentleman who had the jimmy page supro amps for me.....
Dang. Send us an email which is at the end of this video. D&P
@DFraserHomes ok, cool sounds good. I'm also wondering how many sunburst les Paul's do you have?
Where are Doug and Pat ?
You guys still have a web site ?
Man, that'd be cool. Why's there a scar where one of your kidneys should be Pat?
Still no Billy G. ?
Does Pat ever actually smoke that pipe ?
would rather have heard that Jubilee this amp was sitting on!
In a later show. Also a beast. D&P
Sounds better than the Vox.
As of 01/01/2024
$2295.00 USD
I thought you quit.
We did, but then we got bored and came back. But you never know what's next. D&P
@@DFraserHomes Well I'm glad, wb.

I don't think it sounds like a jcm800 or van Halen amp at all. It sounds like repro plexi honestly
Great show, but … i‘m more with the american sounds
"American Sounds", +1 to that Sir (I love me a good Tweed or Black Panel Fender).

THE ONE ON THE LEFT DOESN'T REALLY DO ALL THAT MUCH- HOPE HE ISN'T GETTIN' PAID!
Pat owns all of the cool stuff.
Doug is the stingiest guitar player on youtube. He NEVER passes the guitar to Pat.
Because he's a way better player than Pat. I don''t think Pat wants to play.
Like Joe Biden.....
