I love how supportive the family was of the bride’s preferences and personal style. What a wonderful family and DRESS! More non-judgmental families please!!!!!!!
Yeah! I thought I didn't want a ton of sparkle, but the dress I chose has beading and sparkles throughout the entire gown. More like a subtle sparkle, but it's there throughout.
and this is the first time i support a black dress too, I dunno, it just suits her and makes such a beautiful contrast with her hair and skin. Stunning.
I’m dying laughing at the mom saying “Joy likes extremes and SECRETLY so do I”. With her wildly cut platinum hair, that big old tattoo on her arm and that dress she was wearing👀 Really mom? It’s no secret 😂 😆 😝
This was by far the easiest, most supportive family I’ve come across on this show. From style to color, they wanted nothing but for dress to scream HER & it did just that. I’m so happy for them all.
I also loved how they all were so positive about the first dress ("Beautiful!"), but all straight up said no because it was not what she was really looking for. That's Dutch honesty for you :)
In most episodes where a bride comes in wanting a colored (usually black) dress, the entourage or consultants end up pressuring her to give up her vision in favor of a white dress. Here, the bride came in wanting a white dress and ended up falling in love with a colored dress. It was so refreshing to see!
I for one think the dress she chose is gorgeous! For those who do not like her choice, please try to remember that it is for HER wedding day. She is a beautiful young woman who can easily wear anything and look amazing. ♥️♥️♥️
I agree a lot of people may not agree with her choice of dress or color I may not like the color but it is her wedding day 🥰👰❤️💐 and if it makes her happy and her family supports her than that’s all that matters.
It looks custom made for her. It's not "too" black. The deep v-neck lifts the eye to her beautiful face. You would not put that dress on a plain woman but she can carry it off. I'm not a fan of the dark veils. It looks a little funerary to me. I would prefer a fascinator in the same black and white combo.
I love the dress she chose, it suites her. If I had her figure I'd try on that dress myself. The only tweak I would make, is to ditch the black veil, and choose a black and silver head piece.
Absolutely gorgeous dress 💕 yet the vail didn't do the trick. Being black made it look like a old time funeral dress. Definitely needs a different veil!
This family was so sweet. No negative comments about the dress that wasn't right for Joy Ann - just "that's beautiful but not for you," and no controlling from her family about how sexy it was. They wanted to celebrate everything that made her herself. This may have been my favorite bride and family yet.
I'm German, and in my grandmothers' day and before all women of our family wore black silk or satin dresses. Remember it was also an economical choice. Those dresses were made to be worn afterwards (having a dress made just for one day was something hardly anybody could afford), and it was made so that it could've been let out. Both my grandmothers were eventually buried in their black wedding dress.
I have nothing against black wedding dresses (in fact I think that they're such powerful dresses) but I think this is like the first episode where EVERYONE loves the black dress. More often than not, the moms would pitch a HUGE fit about it. But this mom was absolutely ecstatic about. She fell in love with it as well and it's awesome!
The moms awesome. I love moms that are supportive of their daughters wedding dress, even if it’s not something they would wear themselves. And that black dress is by far one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen, I would 100% wear it on my wedding day. Perhaps just with a different not all back veil. And with her blonde hair the dress just popped even more.
This bride in this dress is stunning but I agree with the other commenters the mom stole the show for me this is the first time I’ve seen a mother actually interested in what her daughters style is for her wedding dress !! notice the mom said this is her this is her style I loved that moment because that’s what a mom is supposed to do love and support you for who you are not who they want you to be so bravo to Mama mama 😘😘
First dress was really beautiful, but, this young woman would look beautiful in anything. Randy has once again proven no matter where he goes in the world, he has that magic touch.
Randy did an amazing job at this.. At first, he seems so conscious with the extreme preferences, the new region and the culture. But he really figured it out like a true consultant. Would love to see more of Randy's pizzazz on UK version as well.
@@melissashilkoff: as Christine Dando owns the shop in which Say yes to the dress UK is filmed, her own dresses are going to be pushed in preference to others.
Made me cry seeing someone so comfortable expressing themselves. Seeing a beautiful dress for what it is and not worrying about tradition. And also seeing such a supportive family. This has to be one of my favorite episodes. She’s beautiful!!!
In most episodes, women come in and say they aren't traditional brides, but leave in traditional dresses. I enjoyed this episode because it was a family looking for a more traditional look and then going wild. Love people like that. True originals. They're not trying to be different, they just go with the flow, and happen to like what they like.
She looks so beautiful and unique 💜 The times are over where brides wear only white or champagne at their wedding and this is great. I wanted one time in my life to look like a princess. I have plus size 26 W and there you don't have so many dresses for... I found my dream dress in purple Satin with a very puffy skirt and much bling bling and decoration in different purple shades, silver and a little bit pink and rose red. I was directly in love with that dress and my poor husband was crying his eyes out and he was the happiest man I ever saw. We had our 15. wedding anniversary in December and every year we celebrate this day to renew our vows 💝💝💝
I wore a black wedding gown in 2004. My first husband passed away 10 years before this wedding. My second husband cheated with a co-worker for 3 years before I found out. He didn't want his arrangement to end, but I have more self respect than that. I told my fiance that two white dresses didn't end well, so I picked out a sexy black gown. We've been married for 18 years and still going strong!
Yes! It's about time they had a beautiful semi black dress for the bride. I'm so happy she loved it and it looked amazing on her. That is the most beautiful dress of it's type I've ever seen them carry
She looks lovely! Good for her. As long as she has her "bridal moment" and her and her husband loves it, then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks re: whether it's traditional or not. Randy is adorable!
Oh damn, the black veil is EVERYTHING. Wow. She looks so good and I love the dress so much, it’s got personality and a spark. Congrats to the designer to imagined it that way.
The dress is lovely on her. I'm not too keen on the veil, it makes it look too posh funeral. I think a hairpiece would look nicer, maybe a sparkly band, black flowers. I'm glad the family were so on board with the bride's choice.
I absolutely agree. The dress suited her and looks stunning. But the view looked awkward in my opinion. Much better to do her hair up beautiful with maybe flower head piece or even a large black silk rose.
She looked absolutely stunning in that dress. One of the most beautiful dresses I've seen on this show. When they showed the picture of her standing in the stairs wearing her dress, I about fell out. She looked like a queen. I would probably find someone way to wear this dress to other important evens. Can't believe it was within budget.
I love how supportive this family is. They know what she likes. They embrace what she likes. They insist that she gets what she likes. And they roll with a change of plan. That black dress is doing it for you? Then you get the black dress
I love her confidence, her supportive family, she looked good in all the dresses but the dress she chose was made for her! I think it would look lovely in white, the black is beautiful but I’m so indecisive I’d have to see both to compare😭 she totally rocked it though😍
This whole family is gorgeous to start with, but they’re also so beautiful inside. They’re so supportive and they know their girl so well. I didn’t love that dress, but I loved that she loved it and that everyone was on board. So beautiful.
She was beautiful but, this goes to show that sometimes you will fall in love with a dress even if it is black. I hope her wedding goes perfect and it is a very joy filled day!
ughh i cant not cry when i see these ladies cry as they look at themselves and say "i feel beautiful". There is nothing like that feeling of just completely loving how you look.
"I'm happy for her. She felt wonderful and beautiful and that was the point" YESSS!!!! LOVE to see this support! Her group's concern was that she felt HER best in the dress!
I love that her mom is so open and understanding that it is her daughters day and I loved how they all knew it was a right pick for her because she really liked it ❤️✨ such a sweet family.
I feel like this would look way better with a white cathedral long train with black and white embellishments/lace/ jeweled scalloped edging! That black plain veil just kinda looked too dress up to me, but it's her wedding and I absolutely love love love black weddings! Love this whole family🙏💗💖
She was not very knowledgeable and did nothing to further the appointment. She did not have any interesting remarks or add anything really. She was like a magician's assistent, without any character
Loved the dress on her, but thought the veil muted it down too much. Might have looked better with no veil and a glitzy tiara or other hair ornamentation instead.
This is the type of dress all those brides who say they want black and then realise it doesn't work for a wedding once they're in a fully black dress after all need their consultants to pull out. You don't have to commit to one colour. Black and white compliment eachother so play with it.
Nah loads of us want black. I'll be doing black and green or black and purple full Gothic corset and a bustle skirt and all for cheap compared to actual wedding dresses ☺️
the dress looked so nice on her! My favorite part was the fact that it was actually under budget. Almost everytime I watch these the brides are given dresses that are over budget and they're usually the ones they fall in love with. But this one was under!! :D so that was cool

She look unbelievable in that beautiful black dress and I'm so happy the mom told her yes to the black. That how mom should be as long as you're daughter is happy that what matters
That dress definitely suited her personality 100%, however that long black veil ruined the look, it made her then look like she was going to a funeral.
Such a beautiful bride and the gown is amazing!!! People have to remember that wedding dresses throughout history weren't typically white, until Queen Victoria... usually you just wore your best dress, regardless of color. Laura Ingalls Wilder wore a black dress for her wedding.

“I want to look like a disco ball shining with happiness” is the greatest and most accurate way to describe most brides desired look.
But then she ended up looking like the bride of Dracula! Not saying she didn't look lovely, just not very 'disco'.
@@cyflym11 and granted, black isn't typically known as a "happy" color. She does look absolutely stunning in it though!

She is stunning in black dress. What more beautiful is her mother not against and force her to wear white dress like other mothers
IDK why but the top part of it kinda looked like high class lingerie to me.
I thought the same
The mom is in her second childhood, and probably now is gay.
Dutch moms are a lot more chill, the netherlands is not as traditional and conservative as UK and America.

Yes, that was my thought too. She looked beautiful in the dress alone. It really showed off her beautiful figure.
Absolutely gorgeous dress 💕 yet the vail didn't do the trick. Being black made it look like a old time funeral dress. Definitely needs a different veil!
Agreed! The veil made it look like a funeral shroud. A silver headpiece would be perfect.
Stacy, Or even a black & white veil with silver tierra.
Right? I thought she looked like a ghost bride when they put the black veil on. Steven Spielberg came to mind.
