- Jeff Lewis says his 2-year-old daughter was expelled from preschool after he criticized the prestigious Montessori school on air. The "Flipping Out" star said on his radio show that the school's headmistress called to tell him that his daughter, Monroe, isn't welcome back at school. "I said, 'Look, I am so sorry. What can I do to make this right?'" he said of his conversation with the headmistress. Lewis said his daughter's expulsion was his fault after he criticized its back-to-school night. #InsideEdition
So stop the innocent daughter's education because the dad spoke on the school , very petty .

If they wanted to be mature about it, they would’ve had a conversation with with the father about the situation instead of straight up expelling the kid. Plus, she probably had friends there and I’m pretty sure that getting expelled from school will stay on her permanent record.

That's an interesting story. I went to a Montessori school for 1st grade and part of 2nd grade. I found some old papers from them after my mother died and found a letter from 1st grade she kept from them saying I didn't live up my abilities. I have no idea what that meant. I had a 2nd grade teacher whom my mother thought was a nutcase and ended up transferring me to a more traditional private school where the teacher gave me some extra help and I eventually made it to near the top of the class and stayed on the honor roll for the rest of my time there. Makes me skeptical of Montessori methods.
Poor Monroe should not have been expelled from the school. She’s so sweet and innocent. It’s not fair that our world is like this. It’s just like give her a second chance. The lady running the school and the other parents were acting very childish and should not have behaved to get her expelled like that at all. This story really breaks my heart to see.

I’m a Junior at Community Montessori, I think it is an amazing school, but, that depends on the teachers and faculty; the school is an amazing concept, (I recommend reading about it!) but, if the staff is picked out without regard for how they’d treat the families, it isn’t a very good experience. The quality of the school varies, depending on the staff.
I went for preschool and I liked it
I went to one for 1st and part of 2nd grade. 1st grade was ok because I had two amazing teachers but 2nd grade, my teacher wasn't very good so it was a bad experience. My parents met with the teacher and principal who promised things would improve, but they didn't so I ended leaving and where I ended up was much better.
She's such a great driver, must be the ultimate driver.
So he is basically right and struck a cord with these peoples. Revenge.

This reminds me of an incident at my school. Three kids all very high achievers of the school. Eldest has a leadership role. They did a lot of good for the school. But the principal is a right one no one likes her and just because the mum stood up and spoke out how we need a new principal she expelled all of the kids.
First off that’s a definite lawsuit right there. Like parents have a right to speak their minds but straight up taking it out on the students? That’s messed up I hope she got replaced big time afterwards

Think about it, would you like it if you were paying to have your child in a prestigious kindergarten and one of the other parents started dissing you and the school on the air? As for him being given a second chance, I agree that children should always be given second chances. He, on the other hand, certainly appears to be old enough to have known better.

I believe the reason wasn't because he spoke out about the school, but because he was sharing personal information (names, actions) about the other parents and potentially children at the school in a public forum. Enough parents complained, which made the school act. It's a shame a 2 year old had to get caught in the crossfire of adults' problems.

Some schools don't have to accept all students and require families to basically adhere to a code of ethics. I think it would be common sense to not talk trash on your radio show. Dad is the guardian and messed it up for his daughter.

Day care doesn’t necessarily have a curriculum. It’s where you bring your children to be watched or babysat. Children as young as 1 can be in daycare.
Preschool is the beginning of the school years (ages 3-5) , it’s preparing your child to become ready for the school work that is ahead.

My children (twins) went to a Montessori preschool and I was so glad when they were of the age to go to real school. Montessori may be fine for children who haven't met developmental milestones but for others the educational aspects of the play just holds them back.

@@maryellenbrown6549 well, for me, one reason was because they wouldn’t open my banana (i was like 3 or 4 or something around that and i didn’t know how to open one, but they never opened it for me so i couldn’t eat it), but the main reason was because i only had one friend there: everyone else hated me, i’m not sure why. in the end, i was removed from it and went to a different pre-school, which i much preferred. i don’t exactly know/remember why my sister hated it, maybe nobody liked her either, not sure, but all i know is that my mom and dad told me about how she didn’t have a good experience there, either. it’s a very prestigious school (not saying I or my sister is dumb, since i’ve gotten all A’s throughout my school years so far, and my sister is graduating as an honor roll student & is going to law school), so they might have just been really strict, but i much preferred my second preschool.

And you would sue them for what? Not every act, however “unfair”, is grounds for a lawsuit. It is a private institution. The Supreme Court said years ago that private organizations can set their own rules. The only thing they cannot do in the rules they set is discriminate against someone who is a member of a legally protected class. This two year old does not fall into that category.

Yeah. It was his opinion. Besides, the girl did not do anything herself. The parent should be spoken to, but her child should not be expelled. You're right, I agree. It probably does not go in hand with the handbook or school rules I assume. Unless they have a rule where they have the ability to expell anyone.

Actually that is where things might get complicated... some schools have rules that no names, photos, videos or any part of media of other students/parents can be released to other branches of media without the formers permission... even in my college if another student wants to for example record a lecture, they have to have a note allowing them from the main office and permission from the other peers and teacher. It has to do with the act of giving permission, which is usually pointed out on a contract/syllabus

My mother complained at a Waldorf school (The one actress Dafne Keen attends) because they wanted to make us go to the exams in person in the midst of the pandemic. I got expelled. After banning my mother from ever contacting them again, I was admitted again. These kind of schools do whatever they want.

In my school, a schoolmate of mine got harrased by a male teacher and she asked another teacher for help and the teacher literally said "You can talk about it with your teacher." The teacher was referring to the male teacher who literally harrased her. The school year ended and nothing happened to the teacher so that schoolmate of mine went to social media and spoke about it. Her post went viral and some other schoolmates and even some of my classmates also spoke about that certain teacher harassing them. The teachers and our principal saw the post and THEY LITERALLY TOLD HER TO TAKE IT DOWN because it was "against the school rules". Months passed and the same teacher who harrasses students is still at that school🤷♀️. Every school literally cares more about their reputation than their actual students.

Get her into an IB school. I have been teaching at a Nord Anglia school for the last 3 years, and I have to say it really is a student-centered, genuinely caring education provider.
I mentioned this situation to some of the teachers in our early learning department, but they did not believe me. I actually had to find the clip to prove it lol
