Good video. I use single point focus. I don't fully trust zone.

Hi! A little question about settings. Do you have any tips about taking pictures during the reception/afterparty? When people are dancing and moving around in the dark it can get a little hard to get a picture in focus (for me, that is). Is it ok to use a wide angle lens and focus on "infinity"?
    Cheers!

Hi! I would say if you’re using a lens like 18mm or wide, than as long as you’re shooting around f8, nearly everything will be in focus from about 1 meter away onwards!

Hey man, this is such a useful video, thank you. I had a quick question. Please could you explain how you use auto focus / manual focus during a wedding? At which points during the day are you using auto focus, and how are you using it AF-S or AF-C, with single point or zone? How big do you set your focus point? The same question applies to manual focus, when do you use this, and are you using back button focus? Any help is appreciated, thank you, Edd

Hi! I don’t use back button focus anymore but I used to when I shot with a DSLR. I use zone focusing and AFS if they’re stationary or I have time to move, AFC if they’re moving and I have to be quick. Rarely use manual mode unless it’s a specific lens. I use the joystick to move my focus box around quickly.

@@JonSparkman thank you that's very useful. How big do you set the zone focusing area please? I've come from Canon and I used my Fuji on single centre point focus, which seemed to produce mixed results. I've learnt since that this may not be the best technique. Which AFC mode do you use please, and are you shooting CH or CL? In AFS does focusing and recomposing work for you? Any further tips on Fuji focus settings/techniques would be much appreciated.

Do you use 90mm f2 for more of background separation.

You can do, I use the 56mm lens (85mm full frame equivalent) at 1.2-2 nearly all day long. Gives great control. I’ve also had a 135mm lens in the past which was spectacular and a close second to this lens.
