- The TLCM is a great pedal set but the brake could feel a little better. The 3DRAP TLCM mod helps with that.

Ordered the racing mod last week based on your review.
Got them yesterday and I'm very very pleased with the feeling, it's very similar to a real braking pedal just like you said.
Better than the Apex2vr in my opinion.
Thank you
Totally agree on everything you said… the red spring with the elastomer blew me Away, no other config was as good. I can finally trail brake and it feels so natural.
That was a really well presented test. You communicated your impressions very clearly, along with translating what you were feeling into what was happening mechanically. Thank you!
i find it mildy amusing there are people out there that hate the g29 pedals and remove the rubber bushing and replace it with a spring, and then with higher end pedals they are removing the springs and replacing with rubber. i get it though, a spring and a rubber would give the perfect braking feel.
The difference being
The rubber that comes in the pedals for the g29 the rubber is almost equivalent to just sticking a rubber eraser in it and the others got a set hardness to allow for a more real squish like brakes would sorta feel like
It’s the same with thrustmasters T3PA conical mod
I’d rather get rid of the mod and replace the spring with that set rubber brake mod
just received this today and give it a go on nords in iracing. have to say it is a game changer compared to the original spring set up. and very tough to bottom out the pedal. well worth the money and as i said game changer for my driving style.
I don't have any issues using standard pedals on TGT 2,still having decent times on events and pole postions assuming I have regular job 40 hours week, kids, which shorten my time spending practicing and making more better lap times.Sardegna event was 56.4 and Michelin Atlanta 1.24.4
Modding the brake pedal has been long overdue on my TLCMs. Only mod I've done is install the Ricmotech heel and toe spacer, which unfortunately doesn't work with the upright spacers the pedals come with, so my pedals are at a slightly undesirable angle. I've gotten used to it, though.
There is a nut under the the break pedal to make it tight again than you dont need the washers. I dont know if anyone mention that here in the comments 😁
Yesssss!!! Thank you sir!! I just set mine up exactly to yours and have so much more feel and less lockup now!
Why doesn't the clutch pedal have a spring to create the feeling of a bite point?
Please try out the rubber washers mod, it's great and cheap.
Sim racing corner has a video on this! Did it to my pedals for like 10 bucks and it's pretty much the same thing as this mod.
Rubber test tube bungs (x1) works great too. You can find them in exactly the right size and often pre-cored too.
@@PeatCowman where did u buy that?
Hi! Great review and very much appreciate your conversational approach in the sharing of your perceptions and the concise intsallation demonstration.
I just ordered these.
Would be nice to see a short update. Are you still using this mod a year later?
So many reviews are of the "one and done" variety. It would be nice to see what's still an effective mod after the initial, "Hey! This is new and cool" phase.
Really appreciate your insights and talent.
Kind regards.
I want to ask you the same question you asked him, would you recommend the mod?
@@Fspirit01 Hi!
Yes. I was using the mod for most of last year. I think it made a difference in brake feel and helped me change my braking habits.
Thanks for your great review I got my mod today its the race setup and I finally love my load cell thank you.
I bought the Apex mod almost right after i got the T-LCM's. Night and day. I just wonder why companies don't just do this off that bat. Or give you some better elastomers. I'm waiting for a brake mod for my HE sprints. Because as it stands my T-LCM with brake mod feels like a better progression. lol
😧 BETTER ???
This mod is what the t-lcm needed. I just bought them based on this review. Love it. The LMP2 car is now much more driveable for me. Way less locking up!
Same here, did check some more vid's and info first. Feels better, stiffer and faster (reaction wise (because less travel))
Using the red spring with this mod @ 86kg (atm)
I just ordered a Mod for my TLCM pedals, it's called Heusinkveld Sprint :D
@@RadeSeslija What do you mean? I received them quickly after my order.
@@RadeSeslija mate, that was a joke!
Heusinkveld Sprints are a completely different pedalset and a different price range ;)
How dors it feel? Is there an huge gap with the TLCM with 3drap mod?
@@LSracing971 I never had mods on the TLCM pedals. It is a huge step forward. But it's not like its all I ever wanted. They are well made, you have very good support, but changing them is sometimes fiddlely and I never got them to feel exactly like I want to.
Did you recalibrate the pedals with the Thrustmaster calibration tool when you made the changes. It's possible with both elastomers installed that the pedals just needed to be recalibrated.
According to Thrustmaster you need to download the calibration tool and recalibrate the pedals when you change the springs so you need to recalibrate the pedals when you add these elastomers.
I bought the tlcm's and just can't get along with them. Coming from t3pa's I had them set up perfectly with the conical brake mod. Have just ordered this mod so will see how much it improves.
the same here.
Monza + t3pa + conical mod = 1.47.9
Monza + tlcm = 1.48.6 (after 1/2 year)
Hello
And now??
@@THESHADOW97139 huge difference. Felt right as soon as I installed them. Get rid of the springs. They're better with elastomers
@@StickyPlasters 👍
Every time I see a video with these pedals, I recommend 3drap brake mod. The pedals, when they were released, were the best you could get for the price. But default springs are crap. This or similar mods really transforms the pedals, it's loadcell, and the way loadcells are meant to be used. I don't know why Thrustmaster didn't include this simple cheap elastomer.
This is my issue, springs are crap, can’t justify $70aud for a squishy bit of rubber haha
@@mikelshwede $70 for a part that costs $5 (or less) to make? jeeze. im sticking with springs or finding a cheaper source of elastomer.
@@socks2441 Apex V2R and the 3drap mod both work out around $70AUD shipped, crazy money for what they are, do look good though.
@@mikelshwede I know I'm replying 2 week later but this is "the price" of haveing 30-40 tabs open. Try finding elastomer somewhere else. They are cheap and you can always cut it. You can also try skateboard bushings (I hope they are called that). If I go to my region's ebay and search for elastomer I find a couple of results I can DIY for very cheap price. 3drap offering is just a convenient way to get proper elastomer without doubting it will work. But if I was making them, I would do it a little differently, but the feel of progressiveness is there and you can get into proper muscle memory territory with their product.
What I would do differently: I would make a stack of 3 different "hardness" so it would remove initial spring feeling (that would make you better feel when you press ~20% -> when just a little tap is needed) and you could mix 2 + spring for a vast possible range. That would be ideal for T-LCM. Nowadays, however, I would recommend Fanatec over T-LCM even though I hate them as a company.
@@alpha007org I've just bought a tmx wheel. I'm hoping to get tlcm pedals soon and was wondering about using bushings. Do you know anyone who has tried them?
You know what else is essential? Commenting and liking any Random Callsign video.
How could 2 elastomers instead of 1 produce the same brake signal % but at less pedal force? That's impossible because it's a load cell measuring force (unless you changed calibration settings). I think what you may have meant to say is the 2 elastomers produce the same brake signal % but at less pedal travel (less travel, not less force).
Looks like a really nice mod, but almost 20 euros for a piece of rubber is rather steep.
ye just thought about that
Very good test with the different combos!. I recently suffered broken red spring on double red spring stock setup this was due to an error in the way i last setup the top spring so to anyone out there be sure as to whatever you do make sure the spring is secure in place when pressure is applied. I went for skateboarding bushings hardest I could find . The whole set fits perfectly like the setup without the spring still testing to find personal preference atm but as for bushing they’re a great fix for me.
Great video, I have a question for you.
How do you make a fanatec base work with a Thrustmaster TLCM pedal set? Is it a fanatec CSL DD pro?
Only on pc. With usb cable.
thanks@@randomcallsign
My experience is completely opposite of yours. As I find having both elastomers to be the stiffest setting. My brake padel has less than an inch of travel, since the elastomers could barely get compressed(using 80 brake force). I'm surprised by how much travel there is on yours. Thought, I should point out that I'm a small guy(160lbs).
100kg
Hey , i just got those pedals and looking forward to uprgading them also. @randomcallsign could you please tell me what boots/socks you are using in this video ? i am struggling in basic socks to havae enough grip and looking for some solutions
Water shoes
I know it was not intentional that the camera shakes when you release the brake spring when installing, because the camera must be mounted to the table, but I found it dramatic and entertaining haha. 1:09, 1:20
For the red spring and the elastomer spring, what is your brake force set to in the thrustmaster control panel?
100
@@randomcallsign I use 95 and my butt lifts from the seat while you barely moving under hard braking.
Hello, but the brake setting must also be done on the content manager for race set-up? or just on the pedal board tool? and then the pedal board must be connected to the t300 steering wheel or directly to the pc via usb?
I just installed this, do we need a washer between the elastomer and spring? Won't the spring damage the mod after a while or is mega tough?
Made that modification today and I also had to add 2 washers on top of it
hello, what is your setting in the calibration software. dead zone and brake force please? thank you
Worth every penny
Where do you buy these lots of eBay but unsure which one ☝️ thanks
new to sim racing here.. Which game is he playing in the video??
Can you use this on the CSL Loadcell Kit if you remove some elastomers?
Tender Loving Care Mod?
perfeito!! tenho esses pedais mas estou a espera do meu cockpit K2 R da simetek igual ao teu chegar , podes me dizer se eles sao fáceis de encaixar la?
São
Just ordered a set of these for my TLCM. Looking forward to seeing how it performs. The pedals are already very good so excited to try these out!
Hello, Steve. Any feedback? 😊
@@1xWALDYx1 yes loads of feedback if you’re interested…haha. The elastomers are exceptional. A plus! They arrived within 4 days from Italy to the UK. Been using them ever since. I got both the extension and normal elastomers. I have tried both setups as in the video here and to be honest both work well. I prefer the yellow bottom and red spring up top though (again as per the review in the video). It’s a big improvement I would say to an already excellent set of load cell pedals. The braking feels much more consistent with this setup, and it just feels more natural when modulating braking. Lap times have improved and overall my race pace is more consistent across the board. Highly recommended!
@@SlightlyMisunderstood thanks bro ✌️
@@SlightlyMisunderstood Can pick them up tomorrow i hope i get used to it really fast 😄
I just tried those for like 10-15 mins some couple of laps and WOW they are insane it feels like i dont have to focus on braking anymorr it just so smooth the car feels diffrent aswell so much better cant wait until i get used to it.
TLCM , Brakeforce Settings help.
Hi,
I have set Brakeforce at 0 on tlcm. But i still find it too hard to get desired braking. i would prefer for it to be easier than 0 to get 100% braking.
Is there a way to reduce this below 0 or change any other setting, so i have to press the brake with lesser pressure/force to get up to 100% braking....?
Thanks.
Try to use stiffer springs and ur braking will improve by a mile i used the lowest stiff springs at first my braking was horrible then i changed it to stiffer ones and omg its so much better! if you habe losdcells without a simrig its hard to get 100% potential out of it theyr good yes but not at the best.
is it normal that my final value is on 16.8 without touching the brakes?
Every time you lift off throttle, theres are a minimal throttle Input. What is this? Greets
Downshift blips
@@StickyPlasters thx 🫣😅
Tried these and cheap and nasty, try the apex v2 mod 👍👍👍
are the pedals connected to the fanatec base or to the pc separately via usb? 🤔
Usb
@@randomcallsign thx👍🏽
Finally!
I got one of these and I can't get it to feel consistent.
I should have the T-LCM pedals set in the next two days and I'll be buying this mod for the brake.
Why not put a link to this product in your description?
It's already there.
Love the shirt.
Installation is a bit wrong. Put in the Elastomere, a washer and then the spring. Because the spring will work in to the elastomere and destroy´s it.
And this is ACC not PC!
The provided washers are smaller that the spring. Also in the 3drap picture of the install there is no washer
@@randomcallsign I would do it. It dosent hurt the Performance and give more life.
I support your POV. I am definitely doing that as soon as I get the mod. Thanks for the suggestion. I would even buy wider washes if the mod is wider than the stock ones.
how many rims do use on the pedal? 2??
2
Does this work with console as well ?
Yes
Has anyone tried skateboard bushings for this?
I just recevied rubber bushings Shore 45a stiffnes rating and subjectivelly it is the far best solution yet, not to mention the cheapest.
I have the Apex and Nox3d mods, and all I can say it is a complete waste of money. Good combo is bushings+nox3d, though.
I will however order this mod too and try it out.
@@RadeSeslija Did you receive this mod? How it compares with the others?
@@vfragos I did, it is far the best of them all. I now combined it with Nox3d, which serves as a preload, and it is also very good!
@@RadeSeslija Thank you mate. So this 3drap mod it's the best. I can find it at about 30€, would you still recommend it, the improvement you get justify the cost?
@@vfragos I would recommend it. However, it always comes down to subjective feeling and perception, so you will only know for yourself when you try it. The cost is in the middle of all the mods existing, so it is justifiable from that side. When you look at the reviews of other mods, they all swear it is the best and when you receive it, you get disappointed, as I was with Apex, so you never know... It also depends how strong are your legs, do you drive with shoes or without, is the pedal base fixed with screws or not, so all this influences the subjective feeling.
My suggestion: Buy a 3D-printer and do your own elastomer and many other cool stuff for your rig.
Break are fine, just make the adjustments in the game lol
ApexV2R makes a MUCH better brake mod kit
you tried both?
@@mediajunkienl Unfortunately, yes.
Would you mind to elaborate what makes it a better mod kit, besides it having more elastomer options? I bought 3DRAP's prior to knowing Apex, pretty satisfied with the stiffeness of using two elastomers, but I'm interested to know what more could Apex offer me at this point. Thanks!
which combo do you use?
@@MrSiyamson I use the black on the bottom, white on top, with the preload mod on top of both! Preload-white-black
If you happy with OEM springs, Why buying mod?
I have experience in markting victim. Buy mod by thinking it better than stock stuff.
Stock T-LCM is great. Keep money to buy Heusinkveld or Fanatec V3 if you need to upgrade.
I'm using this mod for a week now, it's better than stock.... (if you like a stiff(er) brake feel)
The issue with the stock feeling is not stiffness. It's release reactiveness and speed. It improves with an elastomer as Fanatec uses in their basic CSL ones.
@@lopez37 That brake spring springs up faster than my foot can get away, this is the biggest sim marketing shill stuff ive ever seen.
