Hello peanut gallery! Here is block #20, the final block! I will do one more video to wrap up this series and I also want to do the final poll. I think I'll do the poll first so I can show the results in the final video. Expect the poll soon! You can get caught up on this series with this playlist: tinyurl.com/ha4uq2u
Darlene, you are so amazing. I would have never chosen the materials you chose. Most of them are just ugly. But when you put them together it looks like it was a set to begin with. I love all of the blocks. At this point I have only made 5 but I am working on the whole set. And number 20 is delicious. You have set me free to do unprecedented designs and to not have everything perfect! I love you. Keep on quilting and posting!!!
Failing the conservative test makes you terrific! Yours is the ONLY set of quilting videos I have been able to get through. Not only that, but I am making my own wonky quilt now. Thank you for the inspiration!
Love this one too. Just watched this while we were in Memphis refueling on a flight that was to be direct from Colorado Springs to Orlando. Go figure. Anxious to get the others done to catch up to this one. Have 8 done. So much fun.
Contratulations! Your collection is delightful. I love your enthusiasm for not sticking with the norm. Helps me cut loose and try something different. Thanks for sharing.
love it . Some of the fabric you use I do not like or think they would go with the others BUT! you always end up with pretty blocks You have a knack at choosing fabrics that go well together. I just love watching your videos I am glad to see block #20 done BUT am sad at the same time. Looking forward to see what you do next
That turned out great! I've been doing foundation piecing today also, mine are all neutral strings on 41/2" square pieces of phone book paper. I've made 50... only 118 more to go. (rolling eyes)Then I have to tear the paper off which is a pain. I have a bolt of muslin that I'll probably use next time. Can't wait to see your finished quilt.
The last one is the best. Love the mistake and the fix. This how I create, also I call it my left handed brain. I think backwards from the rest of world. My friend thinks I'm so creative but I know, I don't know how to make things following conventional practices. I can't follow patterns in life from cooking to sewing. That's why I just go with it. Sometimes it works, sometimes not to well. We're about the same age and I love listening to you. I've been developing a new attitude of just going for it. You make me just want to try more things. Don't think I'll be cutting my own hair real soon, take care.
Hi Darlene, I loved the block party! I am so excited to start my own! I have a question, can you rag quilt the blocks to make a quilt? I think I will try it!
