This channel is fascinating. Don’t worry about how many people watch it , just keep creating content . I’m 52 and been bow hunting my entire life . I found my first arrowhead a year ago and have been obsessed with them. I’m going to start making my own from watching this channel. The arrowhead I found was supposedly made 7000 years ago. The amazement I felt that someone made this projectile point to hunt with is unexplainable. It’s an obsession now. Greatly appreciate your videos
Some really cool bows, as a child I also created some, I tried different woods from pine to eucalyptus to red plum, I submerged them in water and then I put them inside a removable wooden ladder to dry them in the shape of an M, and the arrows also with plants from the river, which I collected, straightened and dried for a year, but my father hated that I had that hobby, and one day he broke everything and threw it away, he was more into hunting with firearms., as an adult I only shot with pulley bows, it will be great to see how you create those bows and such and the atlat is also very very interesting or the blowguns, all your content is cool and interesting and educational and fun. Thanks for making this video Pat👌✨️❗️ 🦈🔱
Enjoyed your comments on bow making. My father was interested in archery in the 1950s and 60s. He made me a bow when I was a a boy and I had a lot of fun with that. He also made his own bow strings and arrows. Thanks for bringing back some of those happy memories.
We had a good frost in Ks also last night. Actually froze ice in the dogs bowl! That is unusual for the first frost of the year. That osage bow is a beautiful piece! Lot of osage grows here, and been one on my bucket list…..hope I live long enough to get them all done!
Patrick great looking bows. I've always wanted to try making a bow from scratch. Must be a very rewarding feeling harvesting a deer 🦌 with everything hand made by yourself. Great channel news video. The chipmunk 🐿 image is awsome too. I have several chipmunks around my house. They are busy gathering black wallnuts now. Very funny watching they carrying a wallnut thats almost the size of them🤣🤣😲🤣🤣😎👍
Question for you, maybe you answered and i didn't see it, but what made you get into primitive hunting? Also would you be willing to talk about how to get started hunting? I went from living in a family who does nothing outdoors to being an adult in a state where the only thing is be outdoors and i just dont know how to break into that. Should I just try wildlife photography instead?
Pretty sure that, these days, almost everyone can be defined as On The Spectrum to one degree or another. They used to call it having that "personality" thing, chalk it up to another's life experience, and embrace the little quirks. The idiosyncracies go a long way toward making your channel as entertaining as it is educational.
I use all kinds of wood. The easiest wood is osage orange, but there are lots of other woods you can use. I use mostly oak, elm, juniper, and osage orange.
great video warm and friendly you missed the absolute main point, you show a big rock and then you show a arrowhead that you would make out of that rock. this is my passion. unfortunately you didnt even show a arrowhead, but this is what you do oh so well. flintknapping the word means nothing to a new person, obsidian means nothing to a new person, atlatl point means nothing to a new person its tough to be at your level to explain to a new person what you do and you are also selling the channel. use the word "arrowhead" your books do the front covers they dont say atlatl points by native americans for a reason sorry it sounds mean but it makes sense what i say. i wish i had the passion in my craft that you do in yours quite humbling.
I enjoy all your channel news. Always fascinating to hear about different topics

Oh, yes it is addicting finding arrowheads. I'm 56 years old and have been looking for arrowheads for 46 years now. Great hobby.😊
I honor what you are doing for your dad.
Thank you

Nice
I found that doing the touch my toes stretch relieves the restless leg when I’m trying to get to sleep.

We have one chipmunk, and it acts just like Speedy Gonzales. There's a neighbor's cat that chases it, and the cat also chases rats in the backyard.
You made my day, Patrick. Thanks!
My pleasure
Thanks for the video.
You're welcome
Thanks for the update!
You bet
love ya lots Patrick!
Thank you!
I will say the critter is the elusive Chipmunk 🐿

So I need to send you something soon.
Cool, yes. 👍
@@KnapperJackCrafty I’ll email you asking for an address tomorrow. Gonna give a couple of touch ups. It’s not a challenge. Just a gift.
Check that email and my latest short.
Do you still write for Primitive Archer ?
@HaroldMcDowell-s6e Not any more. They paid me at first, but I was writing without pay after a while so I stopped.

@@KnapperJackCrafty a bow and arrow not a bowl 😂
@richardnunley1742 yes, I know what you meant. 😁
@richardnunley1742 In this area of the northeast the Native Americans used mostly hickory or black locust for bows and viburnum for arrows.
