dear Daniel, according to basic Physics knowledge, as the mass decreases, the fundamental frequency goes higher and vice versa. a very simple example to this, is the wooden blocks of xylophone. Beside, removing each zone of the bridge has got it's individual effect on the Violin sound. Moin, Violin Restorer, Vienna
Dear Daniel, I would like to thank you from my heart for revealing such hidden secrets. I am waiting your violin videos on your channel day by day since more than 1 year. I have two questions remained, a dark sound violin needs a high pitch bridge or the opposite ? 2nd which side of the grain bridge you use to decide which side of the bridge goes facing the fingerboard and the other facing the tailpiece. Please post a video about your method of making the feet of the bridge fitting exactly the arch. Thank you Daniel. Jack-Lebanon-Byblos
1, dark sound violin use high pitch bridge, correct. 2, stamp facing tailpiece, and your name stamp facing the fingerboard. and feet fitting I keep in mind, will make a video when chance comes. thanks
Hi Daniel, i have a question about the bridge, if i make one of the side holes of the bridge bigger, will it make it darker in that side, or affect all the bridge sound?,could it make the violin soung more balanced? i´m making some "experiments" in one of my violins, so i wonder how could i make it better. Greetings from México.
Daniel,i have recently cut my bridge a bit lower on the arch so i can press the strings much easier. But in result,my violin sounds so much more harsh and dirty especially on the e string.Should i buy a new bridge?or are there any other solutions?
Hi sir... in my violin height of fingerboard is 18 mm and maximum height of bridge is 33 mm so is make the Gstring height from fingerboard 7mm and e string 5mm is it perfect?

should a parchment or a tube be added on the e string on a brand new violin?

Daniel, same rule applies for sound posts ?
yes, but you have test as much as you could to gain experiences.

case by case, this question can not be answered online, as all violins are different.
