Thanks for your video. What would be nice is if someone explained WHY a luthier carves this part of the bridge for this specific violin but carves the bridge differently for a different violin. In other words, why shape the heart and kidneys so much for one violin but differently for another violin? What sealant is good for sealing the bridge?
@@gingercat6128 Thought that was an old trick shysters would use to make the bridge warp faster (this obviously necessitating a new bridge to be carved by said shady luthier)?
As far as getting the feet to match the belly, why would one not use sand paper, say 220, abrasive side up, of course and just stroke the abrasive with the feet, stroking parallel with the neck ??
Nice Bridge perhaps one for THE INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN BRIDGE COMPETITION which is now open for registrations, come join us and celebrate the art of violin bridges and showcase your work globally
Amazing, I never realised that violin bridges were such works of art in their own right.
Thank you for the fantastic video!!!

Wipe the front and back very sparingly with teak oil, but not the ends. The grain will absorb too much.

can any body mention which side of the bridge is front or back please { back i mean at tail piece end} where no mark is available on a new bridge?
Name stamp faces the neck and that is also the side that gets planed down but not as far as the name stamp, rather just above the name stamp.
❤❤
Why is not bone bridge?
the sharp outside edges do not do a thing, round them and save moving mass.
