    The biggest complaint I hear about using a ratchet for your Ring of Steps is the noise.
    I have been using a Ratchet with my Ring of Steps for over 5 years now and have found a way to install the ratchet Nearly Silently.
    It just takes a little extra time, just like every other process in mobile hunting to keep it quiet.
    Having a 3rd hand would be beneficial but I have found using my mouth to hold the ratchet strap is sufficient.
    Take a look and give it a listen and see what you think about the noise level.
    Good Luck and Happy Hunting

    For anyone watching this, I will say this, as mentioned, you will make a little bit of noise setting up, I would rather have a tool, that only makes a small amount of noise on set up, then have an attachment method that is a little quieter on set up, but squeaks a tiny bit every time you move once you are hunting. I have been using another product, no names mentioned, that throughout the hunt it would pop or squeak occasionally and typically when you are trying to make a move for a shot, that was so aggravating to me. SO the little bit of noise on set up is minimal in my opinion versus one that makes noise through out the entire day of hunting. Thanks for doing what you do and I do agree on holding the clicky parts to lessen the noise during initial set up. Keep up the great work sir.

    Bought them for last hunting season, worked great. Light and don’t take up much room. Can’t wait for new tree steps in February

    Is there a way to keep your ratchet quiet when you go to take it off the tree? Mine always seems to give me that loud pop when I try to take it off the tree

    My question, why don't folks use the hollow braid ropes like the one that came with the old loc-on stands?
    Thanks for sharing,
    Steve

    • @BullmanOutdoors
      @BullmanOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      For this specific application it doesn't get tight enough. The Ring of Steps need a ratchet from perspective. As to the hollow braided poly... the invention of Amsteel did away with it I believe. Amsteel is also hollow braided but much stronger while being much smaller in diameter. It's amazing tbh! You should check it out.

    Quick question: Wouldn't the OCB STRAP BE MORE QUIETER?

    • @BullmanOutdoors
      @BullmanOutdoors  Рік тому

      Well, that would depend on how quiet you are with the ratchet. For me no. I personally just don't like the ocb. It seems it's either too tight or too loose.

      You can always uae something else...But, It doesn't stink much worse than bad breath, oily hair, or body odor... If a deer gets in my down wind stream it's over regardless of what oil I'm using

      Deer aren't afraid of gun oil. They are afraid of the scent of predators. Humans are predators. Our skin. Breath. Hair. Etc.

      Deer are freaked out by human smell mainly. Think about it, you can park a 4 wheeler in the middle of a foodplot and they'll feed right next to it even though it smells like gas, oil, plastic and everything else. Like I said before it's human smell that they're wired to run from
