    True BMW community legends! Just set my E46 M3 diff up with a new helical LSD and 4.10 gears and the job would have been impossible without the shim pack I purchased from you guys and the knowledge and experience shared in these videos. This is genuinely what motorsports is all about... learn from experience, share that experience, the cycle repeats, and humanity advances. You gentlemen are the real deal. Thank you.

    In one of your E46 M3 videos you said the pinion bearing preload should be 0,6Nm to 0,8Nm. In this video you state 0,8Nm to 1Nm. Why is there a difference now, is this specific for each differential type or is it based on bearing sizing?
    Also the backlash was said in one of the previous videos to be between 0,05mm - 0,08mm. Now it is 0,1mm to 0,12mm. I hope you can respond, I would like to understand the difference.
    Why don't you provide crush sleeve anymore but the shim instead? It is a much better solution to put a new crush sleeve in and the cost difference should be negligible.
    Thanks!

      I had the exact same questions, the torque spec on the crown wheel bolts changes also

    Great video but I noticed improper use of thread locker! In a blind hose you should always put thread locker inside the hole first then when you drive the bolt in it will actually do what it’s supposed to 😄

    Hello - tightening the pinion - is it the same procedure for the 188K 330 CI E46 3.93 diff? Thanks and very very nice video!

    Jak można mierzyć ustawienie łożysk jeśli wymieniono tylko jedno łożysko? Przy kosztach zakupu nowego zestawu kół zębatych to żadna oszczędność pieniędzy. Należy wymienić oba łożyska i dokonać pomiaru i regulacji napięcia. A gdzie pomiar głębokości osadzenia walka ataku? Obawiam się że jest to o wiele trudniejsze jak przedstawia ten film.

    will this work on a 188k 3.38 diff from a 2003 320ci?

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  19 днів тому

      The procedure is similar, but you need different parts. You need the kit that is available in the link below.

    Mr. May I have a question for you, how much oil to put in the Differential?

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  Рік тому

      Put the diff on a flat surface, like on the car. Fill in the oil until it starts to leak from the upper oil plug. Close the plug. For E46 M3 diff, you will need about 1.8L of oil.

    God the music is so loud...
    You guys don't need any music in these videos, we're just interested in the straight-up talking

    For your LSD conversion kits how robust are they? Could they be use for "Racing" as the name implies?

      If you are anything serious about racing get a propper LSD core from them...

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  2 роки тому

      They are designed for street usage. RacingDiffs is name of the brand, product is LSD conversion kit. 🙂

    What is the torque wrench used in this video?

    • @RacingDiffs
      @RacingDiffs  2 роки тому +1

      We got good old wrench, which we calibrated and it works perfect. But don't know the make. I'm sure similars are to be found on Ebay.
