I’m not sure if the manual transmission allows to bypass the rev limiter but the owner was running on KKT piggyback BUT he unplugged it before the session. I can’t provide too much input as I really don’t know much about what has been done to the car aside from visible mods.
It was fun.. while it lasted. Definitely "feels" faster due to the ability to rev higher and keep it at that through the turns but the 1NRVE is just no match to the 2NRVE.
Hahah, 1. It was someone else's car and I only did a few laps. I was expecting it to rev up to 6.5k RPM like my car but it stopped before the redline. 2. Not really trying for timing as I already made a personal best back in 2021 which was also the first Myvi G3 to break the 3 minute mark. Thanks for watching this old video though.
Frankly speaking, it is a good car and it doesn’t stray too far off from my personal car. Throttle response is immaculate for a 1.3 engine though it was behaving rather oddly where I’m unable to modulate the throttle precisely. It seems depressing the pedal even by a little bit shoots the RPM all the way to the limiter. Decent suspension setup. I was able to maneuver it through the turns without any issue (a bit understeery on the corner exit, nothing a quick tweak on the alignment couldn’t fix). Could use higher spring rate or at least adjust the dampening to refine it even more. Overall, well built car. Mods: Intake Exhaust Coil plugs VVT Solenoid XUHP tires Suspension & more.. Note that I can’t confirm all of those mods are really beneficial. It is what the owner believes work best for his car and I simply respect with his choice of mods.
@@l0stcluster2 Yea, owner replaced both of the solenoids but I’m not sure to what brand and all the fine details. Can’t say much about its performance as well since I daily the 2NRVE engine instead.
I was offered the opportunity and I simply took it. Ideally, having ample seat time is better but these kind of experiences are what makes us a better person and in this case - a better driver as well. Learn from it, no regrets!
As mentioned in 4:21, I had trouble shifting up / down into 3rd. The gear shifter was angled at an awkward position and pushing to 3rd (just let the spring release to Neutral and push forward) will often make the stick slide to the left / right. I’ve heard of this in Myvi Gen 3 forum years back and didn’t realize it until I myself was driving.
I’ve had it happen on my a year or two ago too. It was due to one of my coil plugs coming loose after a spark plug replacement. In this case, it probably blew out of the socket when I over-revved the car from that miss shift.
