Hurford hört sich immer etwas mechanisch an, auch auf anderen Aufnahmen
Könntest Du eventuell erläutern, wo man das am besten hört? Als nur gelegentlicher Klassik-Hörer habe ich oft Schwierigkeiten, die Qualitätsunterschiede zu hören.
Da musste mit anderen Organisten vergleichen. Mir fiel das zuerst bei Widors Orgelsymphonie No. 5 Toccata auf.
Höre dir mal das gleiche Konzert mit Karl Richter hier auf UA-cam an. Da hört man den Unterschied.
Keine Sorge, der Meister ist nicht mehr bei uns, aber sein Vermächtnis ist, dass er fuer Organisten auf der ganzen Welt demonstriertet, wie am besten Bach zu interpretieren, und fuer die Zuhörer Orgelmusik auch zu genießen. Ohne ihn wären wir ärmer gewesen.

Esecuzione pregevolissima. Hurford sa trasmettere con scioltezza la grande vitalità del barocco inglese. Grande e raffinato organista davvero!
Maravillosa interpretación. Precisa la ejecución del instrumento en el tiempo orquestal. Fresca, diáfana, elegante y fiel al estilo y talante del Barroco inglés. Amo esta música celestial.
