It's always amazed me (to say the least) how a set of 12 frequencies arranged in different ways can vibrate air molecules and transmitted to the brain can produce what we call music. Not to mention evoke emotions. IMHO, the only positive contribution to humanity our species has made is music.

Now we're in the Contemporary Music era, some of which may prove to be just that....... "contemporary'. Think of the African influence all over the world. Indonesion.....Bali et all...... and all the American indigenous music and rythms. Music has had quite a journey and I'm enjoying the whole trip. One "Pop to Classic"group I could recommand a listen to is The Dutch Tenors. This is my world view.

I believe Beatoven was writing music during the period when Handel was composing Messiah. Beatoven had nothing but praise for Handel.

Go figure. Handel wrote Messiah in 3 weeks, or rather he compiled it from works written earlier. Still amaszing though. Also, a bit of plaguarism was not an offence, and practised. Bach borrowed from Corelli, and so it goes.........

It's always amazed me (to say the least) how a set of 12 frequencies arranged in different ways can vibrate air molecules and transmitted to the brain can produce what we call music. Not to mention evoke emotions.
IMHO, the only positive contribution to humanity our species has made is music.
Right on....most of us will agree....yet not all brains take it in. They have no idea what they're missing. Just MHO. I love those 12 frequencies.
It's also Oliver Sacks, the neurologist's findings, as related in his book : "Musicophilia". I guess we are the lucky ones. from B.C. Canada.

Now we're in the Contemporary Music era, some of which may prove to be just that....... "contemporary'. Think of the African influence all over the world. Indonesion.....Bali et all...... and all the American indigenous music and rythms. Music has had quite a journey and I'm enjoying the whole trip.
One "Pop to Classic"group I could recommand a listen to is The Dutch Tenors. This is my world view.
