My Golden goes everywhere with us. We visited some dog friendly wineries recently. He was in non-stop party mode running around in the green grass on the sunny days. Happy dog, happy humans.
I've been so blessed with mine. He's three and for alot of the time his first 2 years it was just me and him as I had to travel for work alot. I was lucky and everywhere I went the people met him (loved him) and the bosses over me let me go back to the hotel during lunch to let him outside and play. That would be the first thing we did when I got off too so he was always really good even in that situation. We're stationary now and he has me, kids, and other dogs to play with all day.
After owning Goldens from the puppy stage and adopting 6 others (maybe I lost count), I agree with all of these statements about this breed. The weirdest one is the one we have now. I've never been overwhelmed by the love and affection our current Golden is giving us. We rarely leave her alone. She is worth every minute and is really smart and attentive. You can't yell at a golden - as it doesn't work. You can take control of a bad situation acting as if you are barking. It usually calms down your dog as they don't want to upset you. With a Golden those times are very infrequent (at least from the ones I have experienced).
My Murphy #4 golden is just that an omg so chill like a dog in a Walt Disney movie…cherish every moment!!! We are fortunate in our lives with these uncanny loving beasts..❤
Amazing site, thank you so much for your very helpful, very accurate information, and your soothing “it’s going to be OK” demeanor, please keep up the fantastic work!
In the UK by law, dogs have to be restrained in a car. Seat belts for dogs in car to restrain them. Or in the are in the boot of an estate car, you need a guard fitted to stop the dog jumping into car seats.
Glad to hear it. I'm the only person in US it seems to use a seatbelt for my pets. People really have told me that being in a crate is safer but that's not true.
Hey man…always sound and excellent basic Golden advice here I want to thank you very much and sir…your speaking voice is exceptional, the narration is pleasant and inviting although I’m American and can keep up with a fast speaking tempo, but dude it’s a super great instructional voice and I got ADD too so , go get paid Don Pardo, it’s a god given talent…oh, and Goldens rule, Murphy said “hi and how dare you call me a (burp) “foodie”!! More power to ya, SM and M
How should I clean my golden if she gets filthy every time I take her out for a run? I have a young golden and we go trail running nearly every day. Bathing her once every 2 months seems crazy since I’m out with my dog a lot.
If you want you can also bath once ever month the two months are for golden retrievers that don't get as dirty kinda like my golden I can bath her once every two months because I live in a desert so there's sand instead of dirt and it rains very little only about 8 times a year, even when it rains it's not heavy so the sand won't be too wet to the point that it's mud
Make sure there not playing in mud and there not getting skunked????? Goldens don't really smell now if they play in mud and a lake all day long without a bath they will
Any plush toy I give my Golden gets shredded within the first 20 minutes. It's rubbery and plasticy toys from now on. Or whatever material it goes by, not actually rubber or plastic.
Over feeding is something i hear always, but my golden is just eating what he need, I can give him top quality dry food for 3 days and he arrange it him selves. Only canfood he will finish directly. He doesn't bag for food because he knows it's not his food. The overweighted Golden's i see around are the once who are fed with human food. These owners find my golden is skinny 🤣
I'm sure mine thinks her name is bad dog and naughty dog. I free feed mine with biscuits and feed their raw meat at night. She never gets her food and her weight stays perfect.
To avoid leaving my dog alone I bring him work with me like I have company I am the boss of it so I bring my dog with me and if like to go to the potty he Bingen putting his paw on the door so I know that he wants to go outside
The video is informative... dont over feed, yes Clean there ears, yes, Dailey routine yes, teeth clean, yelling at any dog is a no no. My dog gets bathed or goes in the water ALL THE TIME, so we need to stop this myth that dogs and frequent water to there coat is bad. My golden and my bernadoodle love, pools, the beach, and they love to be in the snow when it falls... pretty wet dogs you may say. We always fully dry with a force dryer and use Johnsons baby shampoo and they have FABOULOS Coats. So let your dogs have there gun in the water, make sure you fully dry them and most important, make sure they are eating a great diet that maintains there skin oils. We always feed boiled vhen breast unsalted and the guys are very healthy. My 17 year old cockapoo lived a full life by these guidelines.
A Golden Retriever without a leash is the reason of my dog-related traumas, because it bit me at the age of three, while being totally unprovoked (I did not even see that dog arriving, I was playing in the park). So I am sorry, but I can only associate this dog breed and any other GR-mix with my absolute hate for dogs. No one can convince me that they are awesome and I do not care about the wellbeing of this breed, as long as they are some big brainless creatures.
A Golden Retriever is the last dog breed that is likely to bite. if a GR sees you as a threat then there is something obviously wrong with your behaviour.
Bro goldens do not bite people. The owner of that dog that bit you clearly didn't care about keeping tabs on their animal. You were bitten because of the carelessness of the owner. That person is who you should be mad at, not the dog. Your comment shows your ignorance of normal golden retriever behavior when they are properly cared for and trained.

Thank you! Retriever care is so helpful!

I love my Golden girl!!! She’s the best. My husband works from home so Summer loves the attention!!
I agree, don’t over feed. Don’t let put head out window. Yep my Golden know her routine and reminds me.😄

Don't let her play in the dirt and there are cups that are made for cleaning your dogs's paws

I use puppy wipes each time
Should I get a crate for my puppy, or make a closed off area just for them?
I think both crates and fences are good.
Fences helps teach younger puppies to not potty in all areas of your home.
Crates for sleeping or eating.
People yelling at their dogs makes me lose my faith in humanity 😭😭 They're just cute little dogs who probably don't know an better 😢
No raw hide, no ropes, no cooked bones. Agree.
Once every 2 months?? How will you manage the smell and dirt
Lol
Make sure there not playing in mud and there not getting skunked????? Goldens don't really smell now if they play in mud and a lake all day long without a bath they will
Also dog cologne
My golden/shepherd mix will only eat too much if its canned food. I only give him canned for special occasions. He never over-eats dry food.
Great channel. One thing i would enjoy even more would be seeing you and your goldie in camera
lets make it clear they have joint and heart issues because of bad breeding, and the akc

If I over exercise my golden retriever does this harm my golden retriever
I got one yeee
Lucky!!!

Not to be mean but i personally think that we all knew that stuff👇
The second one, every dog does that
bruh ran out of video ideas lmao

A human might bite you but not a golden retriever, they are such lovely beings. The best family dog breed
🤡🤡🤡🤡
You are so ignorant. Golden retrievers don’t bite.
