The cut above is the Black Ark One: the one on Judy Mowatt's "Black Woman" LP was recorded at Dynamic. when the Tuff Gong 45 was pressed at Dynamic they put the dub to the Judy Mowatt cut on the version side of the I-Threes Black Ark Vocal
This isn't the dub cut on all the early Tuff Gong pressings; the copy I bought in 1978 has a Dynamic Sounds matrix DSR 8849A/B, and has the Black Ark Mix on the A-side but the dub to a Judy Mowatt solo cut with the Barrett Brothers, Tyronie Downie very prominent on clavinet, a lot of additional percussion and a horn section.
man! so you know about this track - just great - please let me tell you that i am in love by this track - mainly cause the vocal harmonies arrangement and the chicken scratch works on it. i can feel the mutron FX all over this one pearl. so it came from dynamic studios....so you think it was recorded there, in their facilities? then remix and dubbed into blck ark? im not a journalist, i am a reggae clavinetist/organist.
can you digitalize it? i mean run the vynil on your system and hook up a simple radio shack cable to your computer in order to make a digital copy into WAV format. ... it would be so amazing!!!
one detail: in the judys cut "!chosen", the key is C#m...and goes all along with accidents. C#m....G#m...Bbm..............now IN THIS VERSION HERE....ssems like the tape is rolling at a little lesses speed, making the key lowering from original C#m to Cmajor. interesting. MAYBE the arranjer decided to lower the key to better fit i-threes vocal range - OR, wich i truly guess its right, the tape transfer had a lower speed changing tempo and note key. GOTTA INVESTIGATE....im curious....though
love

if you like this one, i suggest you listen to the Judy Mowatt - Chosen track (more instrumental, less dubbier).

Could have been Lee Perry's idea
I have it in .WAV format here, but I'm not sure how that helps you
killler black ark production
do you WAV / FLAC it perhaps?
I don't have the technology to do that, sorry
