Dual axle trailers ride much smoother. Easier to balance the load as well. Ideally, a small suv or van would be ideal if you could cram everything in there.
Great videos bud! So many parallels' it's crazy! I am hostage to my high-end clients as well and 95% are city dwellers. But as you've pointed out many times before, it's hard to beat the rates they are willing to pay. Take care brother!
Best type of clients are ones who expect you to charge them for all your time. And understand what you need to do. When they day things like. Things change on the fly and you want clients who are able to adapt their budgets as the scenario adapts.
The whole point of me making money is to make my escape to Alaska. Blows my mind how cheap you can buy a piece of that beautiful land. 10 acres is all I need. Off grid, small 2 seater sport pilot plane to fly around all the backcountry landing strips. Adventure at every turn.
Yea the land can be cheap depending on where/what it is. If you want really cheap land then be prepared to be completely off grid with no road access. And while the raw land can be cheap if you are willing to work, the cost of materials and getting them to your location are much much much higher than the lower 48, so factor that in, its called the Alaskan gouge. If you really want to see the savings you are speaking of, you have to live off grid AND do everything yourself, including milling your own wood with trees on your land, which means finding an area with suitible trees etc. Theres a lot more to it than just "land is cheap in Alaska" Source - I've lived here since 92
Thanks for the video =) Where I live, payments (or the lack of) is a rather common occurrence unfortunately. A lot of dishonesty goes on when it comes to trades & crafts jobs here.
Working in FL can be Special & interesting; especially on brand new homes. Gone in months after finished for work and you can tell that builder didn’t care at all; which is sad when ppl pay twice for something they thought were gonna pay once for
I have a single axel 12’ long v nose. I’ve got it loaded to the max and do wish some days I had two axels, however, here in Texas there’s a lot of toll roads and it’s charged per axel.
First! Good info Handydude. Would love to live out in the country as well, but would spend more time and money driving in to the city everyday than it would be worth.
That's cool I wonder if its a city thing there too. I had a guy message me recently that said he got busted for doing handyman work. In my state every town and city has their own regulations.
I don't know where you want live but I'm in Australia and live in a rural area about an hour or so out of Sydney which is huge. The beauty of this area is it's rural BUT there are plenty of people with money who need help and pay. Will never work in the big smoke. It's horrific. This is bliss. Nice people. No traffic. Everyone pays! Perhaps there may be something similar not far from you.
@@TheHandymanBusiness ohh ok I figured, just wanted to be a jack@ss and correct you 😆 PS- I'm waiting for that project video, but that's gonna take some time. I got a lotta back burner projects like that too
Money over living in the city nope. I bet you live out in South Minneapolis. It is a hot market out there, but I would rather have less money and have a country living. You are right about getting out of the city and then that’s where all the trades people are. My competition has started to thin out. The older handymen people are retiring to the point where i cant keep up. On average, though you will make less money out here per hour.
Hey sir, excuse me but what does it take to be a handyman in Maryland? Please get contact with me. I do plumbing I just like know how to engage in it. Let me know please
Okay, I'll bite. The bike stand looks like a 3rd hand product. What is it and how can I review it? Started handymanning 2013. What works best in my 1 million population Metro area. Key to endless pick and choose projects. Took a subcontracting job my first year in business to supplement my income as a fixture installer. Plumbing and electrical. Made sure I hade approval to leave my business card for non- competing projects. CHA-Ching. As you know there is a distinct advantage to being asked for an estimate VS soliciting one. This is the key to my success for sure. I'm very capable but UA-cam the hell out of it. It might not be fair but I became financially successful just by showing up, being thoughtful, polite, honest to a fault and remembering names of client, kids and pets. (write them down and log under contact information) Hard no on truck advertising. Mostly price shopping plus you cant give the well deserved BIRD to the Zombies with your number on the truck can you..
Here in florida it's crazy to get licensed then u have a target on your back form all the bad actors that scheme things instead of tryn to make a honest living
How did you manage to do that to your trailer!? Get rid of it! Way more work that what it’s worth and probably won’t be safe for the road after that fix. I bought a brand new 6x12 v nose single axle trail in 2017 and have not had any issues what so ever. You must have over loaded the crap out of it! Stay within your weight limits and you’ll be fine.
Hi Handyman. Thank you for all the amazing content. Question: What methods of collecting payment do you accept from your customers, and if you accept credit cards then what service do you recommend using? (like Merchant One)
Jobber is a much larger company and has the best chance to being around in 10 years. When you put your lively hood into an app you need to be able to trust that its always going to be there and working.
😮 can you please send me the link for me to get started on handyman the license and etc etc. I'm in Maryland, state of Maryland by the Washington DC. The capital but in St. Mary's county. I would appreciate it. Help me get started if you could😊
I wanna move to higher paying areas. I started doing handyman services and earn more than I do in the auto shop. A spouse with medical is an option Rural Americans have skills the city doesn't
Try the Jobber app for free go.getjobber.com/thehandymanbusiness Let me know how you like it.
Following your advice over the years has made me lots of money! Congrats to you on 500K, hope you're making lots of money too!

Congrats on 500k you put in a lot of work with UA-cam, I watch all your videos! Quick question how long have you been using Jobber?
On and off for a few years. I have recently committed to learning all the options and customization it has.
Actually In FL they passed a new house Bill 735 look it up makes everything way easier down there. Love the show

In NJ, it only costs 100 bucks to register as a home improvement contractor. No big deal.

What made you switch from Markate to Jobber? What differences did you find? Which seems better? Pros and cons of each?
Giant Maestro suspension, never bettered!
I usually let the jobs that I know are going to be a pain in the butt that I don't have the time to do their job, due to my schedule being packed !
Wait don't you want spring OVER axle to raise frame/tongue up? 🤔
I said it backwards.

I have never had a problem with getting paid. As long as you do good work it shouldn't be a problem.

Someone local that knows your state tax laws.
