- A walking tour of Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, Washington in late December 2021. Over a half a million lights covered the buildings, trees, etc. in this popular town. Also referred to Village of Lights - Christmastown, Leavenworth is a festive destination that's especially popular with tourists around Christmas time.

Outstanding walking video. There is no place more magical than Leavenworth during the Christmas season. I am from Washington state and lived in a little community called "Cle Elum" which isn't too far from here. I remember one December we were staying overnight, I went out to take a walk, I could hear Christmas music in the distance and little snowflakes started to gently fall, a beautiful horse -drawn sleigh went past, my gosh, it was fantastic. I am currently living in New Zealand, but I carry that beautiful night in my heart and think back on it especially during the Christmas season. Watching this wonderful video brought back so many terrific memories. Thank you.🙂

We lived in Washington State for a couple of years.
He all ways talked about Christmas town and wished he could take me there. He know I'd would love it there and from this video he sure was right.

I'm finally coming here with my husband for our anniversary and hopefully my best friend, my BESTIE and her hubby will join us for our double anniversaries, which are only two days apart.. I love Leavenworth during the Christmas season. Here is a tip when visiting and spending a night or two during the week. Get up at 2 AM and enjoy the quiet of the main drag. Having it all to yourself is rather special.

I've been to Leavenworth two times. My kids love going there. My younger brother's wife just gave birth to his first child. I'm sure he will bring his kid here next year too.

I was there in Leavenworth 15 years ago with my parents and it was so beautiful. I was asking my friends if we can visit Leavenworth before Christmas but then the weather is a bit of a problem. Seeing you upload a video of the Leavenworth makes me happy. Even though we were not able to go, your video surely showed the magnificent lights and was captured through your lens well. I really appreciate this video, it looks absolutely beautiful there. I am in the UK and most towns round here have a one wonky tree and a single strand of lights between the shop’s. I REALLY wish I was there, It’s just so pretty. TFS Merry Christmas.

@@LaoOcean They make an effort in big cities like London, Manchester and Leeds for tourists etc but small towns like mine don’t go to much effort.

The hotels in Leavenworth are all pricey, hate to say. Many people stay in Wenatchee which is a half hour east. Not a bad idea.

Definitely stay overnight.

I think there might be buses that go there.
Amtrak has a bus that goes from Seattle to Leavenworth (and back) every day.
It costs more than public transportation though.
I wish we had public transportation to/from Leavenworth/Seattle.
Amtrak is great, but it's costly.
Sometimes, I wonder if that is done on purpose to keep the homeless in Seattle even during summer.

Yes
I’m here now and no restaurant has asked me for a vaccination card or a any signs posted about it. Only requirement is a mask. But even then a lot of people are not wearing them. We did stop at another restaurant on our way to Leavenworth in kings county and they did ask for a vaccination card. But not in Leavenworth

You will most likely need chains or 4WD. Check weather and road conditions before going.

Were there any black people or people of color?
I recently visited. Majority are white people, but there are a few minorities.
I'm Latin, gay, and trans. Everyone was really nice to me and my boyfriend when we visited.
Small town with open minds.
You should have zero issues as a POC. There's a black couple who made a UA-cam video and rated Leavenworth 5/5 on black friendliness.
