The reason he coughs is because Mace Windew force crushed his chest back in 2003. I like to think that is the reason why he was nerfed, he never fully recovered from that injury.

The Empire was an continuation of the Republic and I don't think they'd want to be using their former enemies choice of troops considering what the droid army did to many worlds. That and the galaxy is very anti-droid too in general.
The Empire didn’t use Droids in their army because they were the soldiers of the Separatist Army. Which at the time of the Empires rise to power, were the enemies of the Republic. So from a publicity standpoint, it wouldn’t make much sense. Because it would cause many citizens to either be confused by it (they didn’t know both sides the Clone Wars were led by their new Emperor) or cause them to hate the Empire. So it wouldn’t have been a good play. Probably the same reason the Rebels didn’t use them tbh.
The commandos were so menacing until that one commando shot literally everywhere around Morgan but never actually hit her, gets disarmed, and then lazily swings his sword around. And when he FINALLY catches here, he sits there for like 4 seconds. I swear this happens whenever they grab anyone by the throat. At this point it's lore accurate. What did they do to commandos man?
I go gotta give credit to that Commando Droid, regular Stormtropper would NEVER look up in fear of getting a neck cramp!
