Important update about IRCC strike and processing time! Our offices in Vancouver and Toronto are right near Service Canada/Passport Canada buildings. We can see government employees strike going on right out of our office windows. Unfortunately, I predict it will not finish soon, and after the strike will be over, it will create a backlog in IRCC processing and all online applications will be significantly delayed. The average processing time for work permits, like PGWP, SOWP, LMIA etc. will take a way more then current 6 months... In this situation FLAGPOLING looks like not just a good solution, but indeed the ONLY option available... How do I know if I can flagpole?? Do I need to hold an American visa to flagpole in Canada? I tried to get my WP at the PoE but they said I couldn't because it's only possible for the countries that Canada doesn't require a visa (not my case). I am very much eligible for the WP I'm trying to get. Can I enter Canada and then flagpole or it would be a waste of time and money?

Wrong information given by the officer, all flagpole process are done on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday only. I went on Saturday evening but it was not done that day.

After receiving my PGWP I will have to apply for TRV extension as it is valid only until 30th sept, however I might me visiting family in that month so is it possible to apply for TRV outside of Canada?
