El Chapo's wife was born in California and grew up in Mexico because her father was a leader in the cartel. She is currently in an American prison for charges related to el Capo's drug business. She was 16 or so when she met el Chapo. When she became pregnant with twins, el Chapo sent her to Los Angeles to give birth so that the kids would be American like their mother. It is said the FBI tailed her the entire time while she was in LA to give birth, and then they followed her to try to locate el Capo.

And for the relocation, the highest security protocols almost anywhere, and to increase the resistance against financial desperation they pay most if not all of them 6 figure salaries.

Thing is, most of of these escapes aren’t just the effect of bribery but also fear tactics. His cartel and reach ran literally everything. He’s now in another country, with well payed guards and little personal leverage to use against them. Like they said in the video, nothing is impossible and no one is incorruptible, but…if there’s any place that’s gonna hold him its ADX Florence. If he escapes from there, he just can’t be contained.

They're not gonna do that. They've been quiet in recent years and making record money, and wouldn't jeopardize it to get a guy like Chapo back. Even if they tried, and even if they had a bunch of ex-special forces guys working for them, they wouldn't stand a chance against the active duty US special forces.

But his two sons and one of his loyal partners now run the Sinalo Cartel. You never know how far some will go for family. Also, a kidnapping and exchange would have nothing to do with any special force until hostage are being swapped. Just like the Obama administration exchanged five Taliban prisoners from Guantanamo Bay for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl on May 31, 2014. It is possible even though you life will be short lived afterwards.

The video calls him Joseph, his name is Joaquín.
One of Chapo's son Ovidio Guzmán was caught in Sinaloa but his brother Ivan Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar called in reinforcements which resulted in an intense firefight.
The family members of these agents were then held hostage by Sinaloa Cartel members. The mexican government was heavily outnumbered, outgunned, most likely didn't know Ovidio was there before they arrested him, and their loved ones were captured. The Sinaloa Cartel closed off the city, had 50 cals roaming the streets, and broke out inmates from the local prison. These cartels are basically full on military units they aren't just "thugs' out on the street.
Eventually the government let them go and the cop who arrested him was murdered a few weeks later with over 150 bullets fired into his car.

    • @xandro2445

As an example the national guard police were numbered around 35 whereas Ovidio and his brother had activated up to 800 sicarios.
They closed down the airport, all roads in or out, circled the city, circled the gov agents, and roamed the city in armored trucks that were equipped with 50 cal machine guns capable of downing aircraft. They had automatic rifles, grenades, belt fed machine guns, and rocket launchers.
The Mexican government tried to send in reinforcements but the sicarios burned busses on the highways and kept them out due to their massive firepower.
They even busted into the local army barracks and took the soldiers hostage and stole the Military Police trucks and drove it around town basically a big f u to the army.
During the firefight Ivan called in more reinforcements from neighboring regions.
