RECIPE: (NEW UPDATED LOWER SUGAR VERSION IN COMMENTS)
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
In a bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
Punch down the risen dough, knead it briefly, and shape it into a loaf.
Place the shaped dough into a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Cover it and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

UPDATED RECIPE FOR LOWER SUGAR: Substitute 1TSP of sugar instead of 1 TBSP, Add an additional 2TBSP of butter and 2 TBSP of heavy cream. You MAY need to adjust your flour a bit. The rest is the same and I love this version EVEN MORE. It's incredibly soft and fluffy!
Did every step and my god this was great! Making more today!
Thank you for getting right to the point! perfect bread making vid!
Just made this bread. No mixer so I just kneaded the bread for 6 minutes. It’s delicious! Thank you for this incredibly easy recipe.
So glad you loved it! Try this next time to see how you like it, reduce the sugar to 1 teaspoon and double the amount butter and add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream! You MAY have to add a bit more flour after but it was fluffy and SO SOFT!
I messed up my flour at first and this bread still came out amazing. Its really fool proof and going to be my go-to sandwich bread.
Thanks! The last couple of times I made it, I reduced the sugar to 1 teaspoon and doubled the butter, and added 2 tablespoons of heavy cream... its amazing! (You may need to add a bit more flour)
Will follow this recipe for my second ever homemade bread. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy!
Trying the recipe right now
Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
Any time! Changing up how I do things on this channel, video coming soon about it
Looks great ! Would it work without a fancy mixer ?
For sure!!! Combine the ingredients the same way in a bowl then just knead on a floured surface with your hands for 8-10mins. You'll know when it's ready because it won't really be sticky anymore and the texture will be smooooth! It's actually quite nice kneading it by hand, kind of cathartic and also a good workout! LMK how it turns out!
Thanks you for making the video that I requested 😊👍🥰🥰
I made the “Asmongold” pizza from your recipe about 30 times now with different toppings and it’s a blast. Best pizza I ever made. We never ate pizza in a restaurant after your recipe. I hope I can make this bread every weekend 💪🏼 thank you very much!
Oh my, thank you so much, you didn't have to do that but I appreciate it! Hope you enjoy!
That. Is. AWESOME!!!!
I forgot to mention that I will freeze the 2nd loaf until I’m done with the first.
That's what I do too! I usually freeze it all the way through in a ziplock bag and then vacuum seal it the next day for longer freezer sessions.
Quick and easy for everyone! Assuming the bread is probably good for a week, if it even lasts that long (LOL)? Thanks for sharing, brother!
It definitely does not last, because they eat it all up usually by the 3rd day but that's where that second loaf comes in! Thanks for watching!
@@BeergrYTwhere do you keep the unbaked loaf for two days?
@@Mantorp86I bake it right after the first loaf, let it cool, vacuum seal it and freeze it until we’ve eaten all of the first loaf!
Could u do a bao buns + bbq sorta thing ?
Sure! Never done it before but I’m up for the challenge!
Alright I tried it. Something went wrong but it didn't rise as much. Maybe the temp of the house or the salt type I used. Dough was also a little wet so I had to add more flour
No problem, let’s figure it out.
Did you go by the grams or cups? ( I actually always go by cups for this bread)
Did you knead by hand or use a stand mixer?
Oh and did your yeast get nice and foamy?
@BeergrYT I used cup measurements. I did see the foamy but I assume it was the temp of the house I'm in. Couldn't get it to rise. Maybe in my hurry I missed a cup of flour? Either way the bread is good. I'll do it again Thursday
Hmm i tried it again today and i noticed in the video instant yeast is mentioned. So i tried that this time but again the same issue. Just not rising enough, maybe i need double the yeast. @BeergrYT
You really shouldn't have to do that. I just made it on Saturday and it worked perfectly. So you're putting the sugar in the 110F water and dissolving it and then adding the yeast? I have had instances where the instant yeast was dead but not in consecutive batches like that. If it foams up, that's a good sign it's not dead. Are you using a stand mixer or old fashioned way?@@bretttheillustrator
Hey I was thinking while making it again today, if your house a bit on the cooler side, try skipping the damp towel and opt for a bit more olive oil. Maybe that towel is getting too cold?
I tried the recipe today and I think the conversion of cups to grams is a little off. 1 1/2 cups of water is for me 350g and 4 cups of flour is for me 600g. The dough was to soft and I couldn’t make a form. In the end it was still very good bread 🙂 next time I’ll use 600g of flour 😉
Thanks for letting me know! I always go with the cups measurements so I used good ole chatgpt for the conversion. I’ll try the grams measurements this weekend and see for myself and report back!
Came to say this lol. I measured the flour in grams and my dough was still really wet after kneading for half hour. I ended up adding a little bit more dough to make it firmer. It's proofing right now.
I still haven't had a chance to redo the conversion. I won't use chatgpt next time lol @@silver-potato-kebab-
@@BeergrYT haha. it's all good. the bread came out very delicious! I made this bread twice already! thanks again!
I tested now the recipe 3 times and for me the best combination is 350g of water and 600g of flour. The dough is still pretty sticky but a lot better 🙂
