    Thank you for sharing, I don’t want to have kids either and I’m turning 37 this year. ❤ Love from Sweden

      Hi Eels, thank you so much! I really appreciate all the solidarity I am getting here, instead of judgement (which I get a lot in real life).

      @@sustainaxenia Luckily there's a huge childfree community online where we can escape the judgement ❤

      Absolutely! I’d also think that there’s less pressure to have children in the Nordic countries, or does it still depend on your surroundings and background?

      @@sustainaxenia I think there's generally more pressure if you live in smaller towns/villages in the countryside, I live in one of the bigger cities. The norm everywhere is still to have at least one kid though, and it's socially acceptable to say things like "who will take care of you when you're old, you'll be lonely, the point of life is to have kids" etc.😅

      @@eels3658 Omg, not the "who will take care of you" argument! The taxes I am paying right now, my savings and my pension fund will take care of me, not the kids who shouldn't feel obliged to do this work!

    My partner and I are also planning to continue living child-free. We have so much more free time and money this way
    I just wanted to say thanks for sharing

    Jumpscare at 7:32 lol! I love when other women talk about this. I also have never felt the interest in being a mother. I remember saying that I don't want kids when I was young, and I'm 30 and I still haven't changed my mind!

      Omg sorry for the sound quality! Had to use the backup audio because my mic was weird. Some people always knew they never wanted kids, some decided later for one reason or another - I just hope everyone’s choice is respected (and hope my mom will learn to respect mine one day).

    We need to spread the childfree message in Africa. Africa has the highest birth rate in the world. In fact, their birth rate is so high the African population is going to double right in the middle of a climate crisis.

    • @sustainaxenia
      @sustainaxenia  6 місяців тому

      I have to disagree here. Firstly, the continent with the fastest growing population is Asia, not Africa. Secondly, overpopulation is not the issue, it is the unequal distribution of resources that we are facing in the world. I have made a new video, it is premiering today, so please watch it to educate yourself: ua-cam.com/video/tfJ-RFewnJM/v-deo.html

      @@sustainaxenia both Africa and India are high birth rate, fast growing populations, but also culturally have many oppressive tendencies towards women. Child free movement and Feminism is needed to promote equality and equity.

      Absolutely, access to education, birth control and abortion is a feminist issue and I want this to be available to women in all countries!

    In nowadays no one is pressuring you to have children. This is kind of BS. On the contrary it has become a fashion not to have children and sometimes the women that do have children are discriminated now

    • @sustainaxenia
      @sustainaxenia  4 місяці тому +2

      Mothers ARE being discriminated now, but not by other child free women, but by the society and the patriarchy. Women earn less than men on general, but women with children get even less promotions and opportunities. As a feminist, of course I want to support mothers, I just don't want to be a parent myself.

      You wouldn't be saying this if you lived in the south. Older generations still put much pressure on their daughters to have children.
      And no, women who do have children are not discriminated against, sorry. That is not a thing. It's the opposite way around.

    • @sustainaxenia
      @sustainaxenia  3 місяці тому

      @LauraReed-wu2ww I agree that the pressure is high. But what happens to moms in terms of career? More often than not, there is no laid maternity leave + less promotion opportunities, because employers are afraid mothers are going to take more time off when the kids are sick. Does it to happen to men? Rarely

      @@sustainaxenia I've worked with plenty of people who have kids and let me tell you, they do get more time off because of their kids. I've had to work later hours, work on my days off because of it. This is a common thing. Alot of places may not give you maternity leave, but people who have kids sure do get more time off overall.

    nothing was assigned to you at birth. it was observed.

    • @sustainaxenia
      @sustainaxenia  4 місяці тому

      Biological sex consists of three elements, some of which cannot be observed with a naked eye and should be determined. This includes chromosomes and internal reproductive organs, not just external ones. So yes, it is rather determined based on all three factors. It doesn’t limit the way one chooses to identify, aka gender. Check out my new video for the breakdown starting at 05:16: ua-cam.com/video/HKiZPNZ6LrQ/v-deo.htmlsi=wLTnvB-vc0qiRLyG

    • @dracocaelestis6370
      @dracocaelestis6370 4 місяці тому +1

      @@sustainaxenia biological sex is indeed observed and not only that, it can be determined without observation - by drawing mother’s blood while child is in utero. everything else you’re talking about is not biological sex, but other things. so again, you’re not assigned anything. it is observed or even determined by doing blood test.

    • @sustainaxenia
      @sustainaxenia  4 місяці тому +1

      I did some research and saw more people arguing that sex is observed rather than determined. I think it is an interesting vocabulary shift, because in the wider audience the wider term “determine” or “sex determination” is used, which is quite interesting, because “observing” is factually correct. Thanks for sharing this!
