Hi all, reminder about my request to watch the commercials before Nigel's videos... let's all help in keeping the Bonsai Zone going... Nigel is one of the greatest people I know - he cares and this is hard to come by these days. He was my mentor in my early bonsai days... always there for me, always willing to help and not expecting anything in return... this is the least I can do now to try to pay him back. I will post this request as a comment after every video he posts... there are 191,000 of us out there. Let's do it together for him and the Bonsai Zone. This is OUR channel as well... Thank you,

Fun fact: Penelope is my bonsai claim to fame - I was house-sitting it for I think 2 weeks or so. Man o man was I ever worried nothing happened to this one while on my watch. It was back in 2010 or so. After it was all done and I realized that the tree was going to be OK I got a bit cocky and told the owner that it looked much better under my care than it did before it came to my garden... beautiful tree. One of a kind, brilliant Nick Lenz's creation...

Inspired by Nick’s out of the box creativity last year as a first year Novice I bought one that had originally been his - not knowing the impact that tree would have on me now ❤️
Love that last display- When Nigel says ‘that is so cool’ and ‘I’ve never seen something like that before’ . . . I hear you being inspired and won’t be long till you put together something with that inspiration Nigel!

A couple of notes on the trees: the flowering ones are mostly quinces, and the two apples (the big one with white flowers and the one on top of the shohin display). Nigel all those trees are amazing! Fascinating; truly! Can't wait for Part 2!
Please allow me to say that Connor's little flowering plant is called "Cymbalaria muralis". It is native to central and western Mediterranean region, (Spain, Portugal, Italy the coastal areas of Croatia etc.) but has been widely introduced to many parts of the world, including Canada.
I am from Greece and though it is not a native plant, because of our close proximity with its natural habitat, it grows here as well. In fact I have a big rectangular clay pot that is "filled" with a lush bush and countless little purple/white flowers!!!
