Best filming of a show so far IMO.
Filming sign, then tree, with no comment and ambient music. Perfect.
Thank you so much Nigel your are awesome......
That you Nigel! It was awesome to revisit all the trees!
It's hilarious that you looked over at the picture of the ape when Nigel said "gentlemen"!
@@t3dwards13 Ha! I didn't even realize!
Nature in a miniature form is so Beautiful
That "best in show" Thuja is amazing!!!
La scène créé avec le pin et les abeilles morte est fantastique et parle beaucoup wow amazing
Ayyy great video & show! The dead wood on the 'Best in Show' compliments it's rock/slab/pot sooo nicely! Absolute stunner.
That leaning boxwood reminded me of your birds nest spruce. Very nice! Thanks for taking us along to the show
"Thank you, Nigel, for sharing the video capturing the highlights of the 2024 Bonsai Show at the Toronto Zoo. Your contribution allows those who missed the event to experience its beauty. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to help coordinate and bring such a wonderful show at the Zoo. It was a pleasure to showcase the artistry of bonsai cultivation."
Very creative designs in this show!!!
And awesome background music that was spoiled by the tornado sirens...Coincidentally at the time I got to "THE AESTHETICS OF FAILURE".
That was my favorite composition.
I took time to pause and read the deep meaning.
And I would love to buy that scroll!!!...or a print.
That dystopia Scots Pine was very cool. Kudos to all the artists involved. Best in Show.
Thanks for that wonderful video! Loved every second of it. Awesome.
Very nice to see Nigel. Great filming and beautiful trees!
Really liked the dystopian pine. Put me in mind of your abandoned car Nigel, and Sam Doecke's tyre swing and dunny.
Cảm ơn bạn chia sẽ video rất đẹp ❤
Nigel, Thank you so much for taking the time to video these wonderful trees...I'm a bit jealous that we don't have exhibits like this in the PNW...Thanks again for sharing your experience...
Ah i wish i had staeyd up - Going to enjoy this one!
Jades and ginko in the show...
Thanks for sharing the show with us (and especially for including close ups of the text alongside the dystopian piece)!
26:00 - wow that is A STATEMENT, love that composition and what it is about. That's top notch art.
EDIT, of course author was raised partially in Poland XD, why I'm not surprised, cudowna praca, zostanie w mojej pamięci na długo :)
Great show and great to see little Blue Jay at the show. Vendors were cool also. Thank you for the tour of the show.
Oh my goodness!!! There are some crazy cool trees! That upright cedar... OOooOOOoooo..... Nice to see that Blue Jay smile! Vince too! Neat when I watch everyone's videos, I can recognize trees and people, even though I've never seen either face to face. Fantastic video Nigel! Thank you for these!
I have now read that script of the the urban piece with the scrolls and bees. This is a deep piece
Fabulous Video! Thanks for taking us to the show Nigel!!! 😊
Some really nice tree's!
7:35 Wow that wisteria
Thanks for the visit Nigel. Some unusual presentations- don't think I've seen a cascade ginko before! The pot/tree/stand combination of the juniper @ 28:20--28:30 was extraordinarily coordinated. Visual weight of all elements synced perfectly, and repeating forms between pot and stand, rather than overwhelming the tree, brought my attention back to how integrated every element was in that presentation. Legs on the stand echoing the angles and shapes formed by the trunk of the tree. Nothing at all common about that juniper!
I really enjoyed the tour. Great trees, and brilliant photography. It was great to see Jay.
Hi Steve!
@@BlueJayBonsai hi Jay. It was good to see you enjoying the show.
Bonsainya mantap kawan, salam kenal
I m from indonesia
Someday invite me on this show i would be very grateful to Nigel ....yeah all trees are beautiful..
Great Video! Beautiful Trees in Toronto.
My 2 cents. The pots very striking and well matched to the bonsai; dystopian, scroll a bold departure from the traditional; fitting for the presentation. Were more trees less prepped than in past years? Conspicuous wiring caught my eye. What do the judges say about it? Personally, not a fan of pointy, obviously carved jin; perhaps I will grow to have more appreciation. THANKS for the tour!
Hi Blue Jay!🐦😃
Hi Johnye! Due to the change in venue and date, there were trres that would normally only be in in "trees in training" section that made it to the main show to fill in space. So - good eye my friend!
👍👌👌
❤
wow
Seems like such a nice, friendly and supportive community you have over there. Have you ever thought about experimenting with an exposed root project Nigel? I've heard you plant in a long tube, similar to drain pipe and slowly expose. Looks really effective in Azaleas, would love to see you have a try
I am so happy for the upgrade to 60 fps btw
The Thuja @ 20:30 has quite a masculine jin down there!🙈
@6:36, I'm curious what the white stuff was on the soil surface of the jade.
I would love to go but it's held on the worst possible weekend.
LOL..." I better get outta here before I buy something..." If I had a £ for every instance Ive had to say that!
You sell shirts now!?
oky im inndonesien laik s the bonsay is fery 2 good
All that was missing were some of your trees.
do like spring shows, notice that the club does not have the age on them. I reckon general public get so fixed on the age they forget to look at the tree, but don't you get the question of how old a lot?
I'm a little confused about the dead bees, original, I'll give them that.
As Gilda Radner would say "never mind". I just finished the video, explaining the bees.
What was with the dead bees?
It is artistic statement. You have tree in concrete on top of slags, and dead bees in torn sheet metal + post app scroll in the back. It is commentary for death and survival of nature in city scape, and what we are doing to our environment.
Later there is a description from author
Josh is the person in the murder mystery show who can't bother to stop working to talk to the detectives. V cute

Like a lot of shows, many mediocre trees and a few exceptional ones. Thanks for sharing!
Let me see your show worthy trees please
@@guymonette9284 I'm out of the hobby.
