    One thing I really appreciate about the dynamic of your home is how you allow all the kids to enjoy their childhood regardless if they are a teenager or toddlers. One thing I have seen firsthand with big families is that the older kids somehow become the younger kids' parents, and have to basically be forced to give up their adolescent years because their parents either A don't have the time or energy to do it or B simply because they just don't want to do it. Sadly, the main reason I've seen is that the parents enjoy not having to take on their obligations anymore and/or think that they are teaching their kids responsibility when it's actually causing more harm than good.
    However, on your channel, I do not see that. All the kids look like they are thriving in their youth regardless of what age they are at, and enjoying their lives as kids should. Thank you for that

      Part of me agrees with you, but another part of me doesn't. Since I could remember, I've always taken care of my little brothers. I even helped my mother change their diapers when I was as young as eight years old. As I got older, I helped around the house with chores, sometimes I made dinner, sometimes I watched my brothers when my mom had to work late. Honestly, I still had an amazing childhood and I wouldn't change anything. There was a perfect balance between my mother parenting and me being the big sister that my brothers looked up to. Those responsibilities that I had growing up, prepared me for so much and it made me into the person I am today. I recall going to college and having friends that didn't even know how to use the laundry machine. So, I think a healthy balance of responsibility is important, especially if you have siblings.

    • @kikibiddy2927
      @kikibiddy2927 2 роки тому +18

      @@becca2938 oh no I totally agree with you that there needs to be a balance. However I have seen families who literally let their older kids raise the younger kids. There's nothing wrong with what you just described, but sadly there are parents that take advantage of older kids.
      Thank you for bringing this up as well, there's always a gray area when it comes to families, and I didn't want this to come off as black and white.

    The trigger warning ⚠️ 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 made me so happy to see. It’s an easy thing to dismiss, if it’s not apart of ones daily life. Some times I watch videos on my tv and my son is super sensitive to flashing lights. Even video games can throw him off into a headache and nausea. It’s something even I miss at times. Really appreciate the lesson in doing this for when I start making more videos. 💙💙💙 side note: has any one else developed Sensory disorders due to be a caregiver of someone with SPD? Things that never bothered me before, sends me over the moon now. I think because we’ve learned to adapt in their world, we end up being the same. That or we always were but leaning our children, we discovered ours lol at least for myself

    Try letting those kids who suffer from GI issues drink some kombucha, coconut lime and blackberry by Humm is all my family's favorite. Works in minutes and natural. When I found out for myself, I had eaten sausage patties on an egg/muffin sandwich and then went shopping for my older daughters who were in college and grabbed an apple spice kombucha cause it sounded good, 3 minutes after drinking just a little swig I was experiencing relief, then my husband spoke up about his indigestion and I explained that I too was suffering earlier after what we ate for breakfast and was now 100% after a drink of my kombucha, and he looked at me with disbelief, and I said go ahead and suffer if you want, and in 2 minutes he grabbed my bottle and took a drink, within 5 minutes he was on board. Now we drink it regularly, and more heavily when taking antibiotics.

    I am amazed at your planning - you put so much thought and effort into your kids and their food. They're lucky to have you! I have to admit - whenever I watch these, I think of how much plastic you guys must go through. In Europe, it woudn't be sustainable to get the plastic cups and such - they're much harder to get here, and actually quite expensive. I would probably get each kid their own personal glass and dump them all into the dishwasher every evening.

    7:17 although canned peaches are great for a crisp when needed... The Peach Truck delivers to my area next week, Tuesday I think is my pickup day. Its a half bushel of peaches picked and trucked from Georgia to me same day. Well, me and 100 other people who reserve a box in a 2 hour pickup window in a random store or parking lot nearby. If there is any chance The Peach Truck comes anywhere near you, they are DELISH. Worth having to deal with so many ripe peaches just days after you get your box. and they come by at least twice a season. This is our third year, skipping 2020...next week already, yum! Can't wait!

      I watched a video by a food scientist that debunked that theory recently. Unless it’s chicken, it’s generally ok to refreeze. I’m not sure if it’s correct, but out of an abundance of caution, I don’t let things thaw or if they’re just chilled I don’t leave them out of the fridge either. But I did find that video interesting.

    Second comment on this video sorry but I also just thought of maybe one day you could do the 23&me dna tests on the kiddos for fun to see where they’re from! Then you could also base a dinner per kiddo off of what their highest percentage origin is and let them pick the dinner from that place with the highest percentage on their results ! Another bonus is they get to learn about theirselves in a way where they can skip completely over their past but still learn about their LONG TERM history. I.e. one of them could be 50% Irish, 46% German, then BAM, an extra neat surprise 4% Asian (bc none of them look Asian so that’s why I used this example)… I hope this reads like I am trying to explain it 😂 … maybe I’m just too into history BUT I just thought it would be an AWESOME addition to your around the world theme and a great video topic for UA-cam views!
