A new video (2023) released covering a complete, stud to waterproof shower, install with Schluter kerdi walls, niche, shower pan, linear drain and bench. ua-cam.com/video/PCnbDS3t1F4/v-deo.html
My current floor is tile, how do I go about removing this please? Also pet of the floor the concrete has been laid on fake wood flooring and so it’s all broken up. How do I go about laying concrete level to fix this
@drulamane The requirements to work at lowes, home depot etc are a pulse and a clean drug test. 99.999% of the people working in those places know NOTHING about anything they sell... And the companies aren't wasting money to train people...
5 minutes into the video I decided to hire somebody to re-tile our bathrooms. Your video made me appreciate the amount of workmanship into tile work a lot more.
Your editing skills are FANTASTIC! You have the same ideology as most children shows..lots of transitions perfectly timed for right when my attention span goes out. Keeps me interested. I love it! I think I’m going to do my tile job on my own.
This is the first video I watched from this channel. It crossed my mind that they did it on purpose. You will always remember this is the one you watched.
Well done! Thanks for the refresher. I've installed tiles before but you reminded me of a few tips that I had forgotten like having fresh water around at all times and not using the dirty part of the sponge on the tile with grout. Doing a tile job today. Appreciate the refresher. God bless. 😊
Tyler just a heads up, the toilet valve looks to be a threaded type. So you do have some options and I would suggest to use the ball type not gate type of shut off valve since the gate type will eventually stick (sometimes) then when you go to shut it off then it can start to leak. Anyway, after replacing all my gate type shut off valves with the ball type (they do make them nice chrome so they don't look any different) it makes toilet or faucet repairs so much easier.
The consistency of tile that you are doing throughout your house is really nice. Thank you for showing common obstacles and how to overcome them with simple solutions, as well as other ways to solve a problem when a tool happens to fail. The house projects are looking great! Keep up the great work and well-produced videos to make the process much less intimidating.
Thank you. I have an unexpected tiling project for our remodel. My cousin gave me this video and I feel much more confident about what I have to do. Thank you!
This makes me so excited to do my bathroom! We have a vintage sink vanity that came with the bathroom, and I'm so excited to see how it will look sanded and primed and all fixed up with a new flooring. Thank you Tyler!
You didn't only install the tiles, also made a craft out of it 👍 I thoroughly enjoyed when watching your skills and tips at building the tiles. CONGRATULATIONS
Thanks for the info. I happen to be putting down 6X24 tiles with wood grain pattern. I just picked your video at random. Time to lay some tile in my new cabin. I did wood floor yesterday.
Thank you I am laying tile tomorrow for my hearth for my wood burning stove, I liked how you did the 3 cuts I will be doing mine like this. Happy new years
You are really good at tile . Making it look easy is a gift also calm organized and all the tricks . I was looking for a hack vid small space only did tile one time and it was as ffed as a football bat . Good job I now have a clue I did not have to pay for in a demolition video BONUS !
I'm learning how to lay tile, Appreciate some of the things that you have shown here. *Keep up the good work I look forward to hear from you,* by for now can PS :I'm a woodworker, And I'm repairing my home with many videos
I'm planning the same project in a bathroom. 1) Would regular mortar work with Ditra? 2) Is the 33% stagger because you're using such large tiles? 3) Did your toilet flange have to be raised because of the Ditra/tile heigth?
The colder the water the slower it sets, and more open time. And you need diamond grit hole saws for porcelain tile. The laser is cool but it's quite easy to just measure over and make a pencil mark on the set tile to line up your next one.
Well done Tyler! Impressive detailed instructions. Definitely subscribing to your channel. Videos like yours are the reason I ever downloaded UA-cam. Please keep up the great work!!! Thank you!!!
I found a job that has an apprentice / assistant listed for a tile setting job up by me and the pay seems pretty well 15-20 an hour starting. Wanted to see what the process was like. Does the time go by wick with this job?
Freaking Amazing Job Sir! Very informative! Thank You! I do have a question....if I were to cut designs out of wood to create an elaborate artistic design...would I still use mortar to secure the wood to the floor and grout in between the seems?
You wouldn't want to use mortar to secure the wood u could use mastic adhesive which is more of a glue. Wood expands more than tile so u would have to leave a joint between the tile and use a matching grout caulk.
Looks great.. have you ever tried those carbide tip on a router to cut? Im not a tile guy but i remember a guy who use to use a piece of plywood.. cut out the hole.. then clamp the tile and the wood together.. would drill a hold.. then use the flush cut carbide bit to make perfectly cut holes.. but im not sure how efficient and effective that is..
You did a great job but not sure on using warm water. Every bag of thinset i have ever used says cool water . I believe hot water will make it set faster and the faster cement drys the worse it is...also look into the leveling systems , they are a must with long planks
What are the materials you used before the tiles? Curvey wrap? I am laying tiles in my bathroom closet. This is my 1st time ever and I want to make sure I get it right. Thxs Tyler!
what did you do at the edge of the tile by the wall in part 2 of putting the tile down? was that filled with grout? just bought a house and I am looking to do a lot of changes myself, so thanks for this video!
Schluter is top of the line but can I use a less expensive version on the floor to cut costs and just use Schluter inside shower? I too will be removing the vinyl (your old vinyl looked way nicer than what I need to remove!) I am headed to the shower video now.

Was concrete board used and what was used on the seams of the membrane?

I just started working as floor associate at Home Depot and im watching your videos so that I can be better at helping customers 😅
Damn they ain’t train u? 🤣

Lol
Ur not just paying someone to do it cause u do not want to or do not no how, it's because now u have to go buy all the tools and everything else
Best no BS video about how to tile fo DIY'ers I have seen to date. Thanks man!
Your editing skills are FANTASTIC! You have the same ideology as most children shows..lots of transitions perfectly timed for right when my attention span goes out. Keeps me interested. I love it! I think I’m going to do my tile job on my own.
Thank you for taking your time to explain why you’re doing each step but also keeping the video concise! Feeling much more confident!!

Great job Tyler. Good info. I have one suggestion. Knee pads. Take it from a 62 year old that didn't use them. My knees are not in good shape.
I saw him wearing knee pads at one point. But yes definitely good advice!
Knee pads or a knee pad. For sure a requirement. This coming from a 42yr old hvac guy

Thank you for showing us in basic terms. Your job turned out beautiful . Keep up the instructional videos .
The first of several I will watch - planning to do a basement bathroom floor on concrete - about 70 sq ft. Thanks for the good information.
You can do it!
Here I go to my first tile installation.

Excellent video, about to re tile our entryway and haven't layed tile in about 15 years so this was a great refresher!
Real good. The tip on how to use the sponge is worth the price of admission alone.
I'm learning how to lay tile, Appreciate some of the things that you have shown here.

Wow, great work. I have the exact same tiles but in 8x48. 🙂

Linoleum is cool and easy to clean but the new tile is amazing and makes the house feel like home
Like how descriptive you were. Looking to do some of my own tile projects so i will definitely be using your video again. Thanks
Man this looks tough. Awesome job
Thanks Tyler. This really helps with my work exsperince. Easy steps to follow and the video is enjoyable. I'll definitely be subscribing
great video thanks! I noticed you grout just your lines but didn't haze the whole floor (like I think I'd been taught in the past)?
Awesome video. Thank you. I feel confident that I can do it. Yay!
❤ Tyler you are a tile God!
The fact that your name is tyler makes this 10x better
Great video. Ditra really is a phenomenal project. Great work, and attention to detail!
I think the hardest part for me is knowing how to pattern the floor with the offsets
Very enjoyable watch ....You did an amazing Job... Floor looks great .
Tyler, honestly...this was amazing! Thank you.
Great video. Thank you for your time and effort to do that. Greetings from Croatia.
You can use water on your hole cut bit, just setup the tile at the saw, begin drilling your hole and pour slowly water from a bottle. It will help.
Thanks Tyler. This really helps with my work exsperince. Easy steps to follow and the video is enjoyable.///

Thanks dude. It looks GREAT. That helped a lot.
This guy knows his stuff. I know some hacks, that would have screwed up that u- cut, Around the valve.

Am also a Tyler also I wish to go to USA and tiles many houses there
Great job! And an excellent video. Thank you for uploading
Thanks
Thank you for all that beautiful pictures
Great video, really informative and easy to follow. Pumped now to tackle my kitchen floor.
Great video! What is the best flooring option for a small furniture showroom? Ceramic tile or luxury vinyl ?
Bro, wonderful video. Good on you. Regards, Kenneth, PNG.
What a great teacher!
Looks like you're living up to your name again! DIY Tiler! Hehe! Great job as always, Tyler!
That looks like a lot of effort just for for tiles not everyone got money to buy all that but you done a really good job
Looks great.. have you ever tried those carbide tip on a router to cut? to grout you go diagonally, just so your grout joints dont get thin >.< and you only need to use a sealer on pourous stone, aka 511 sealer
Thanks Tyler. This was very helpful!
Nice job on the tile man. Impressive
didnt have any intentions to go out and start a project but now im heading to lowes lol
Very good video
I have a question
Is there a certain way you should lay the tile vertical, diagonally
Long way sides way ?
Well done nice clean net job very professional
Tyler, do you have a DIY for square tiles?
I kinda like do a tile project, I like find someone to do with
if my dad was still here he would've do it with me
We used Ditra a couple of times. Not my favorite. Hardibacker was our preferred underlayment. Set in a mortar bed, of course.
You did a great job but not sure on using warm water. Every bag of thinset i have ever used says cool water . I believe hot water will make it set faster and the faster cement drys the worse it is...also look into the leveling systems , they are a must with long planks

what did you do at the edge of the tile by the wall in part 2 of putting the tile down? was that filled with grout? just bought a house and I am looking to do a lot of changes myself, so thanks for this video!
Thanks for the tips. I'm totally doing this in about 2 weeks. I'm going to make a video of it as well.
Even got you're morter lines straight , good man
Schluter is top of the line but can I use a less expensive version on the floor to cut costs and just use Schluter inside shower? I too will be removing the vinyl (your old vinyl looked way nicer than what I need to remove!) I am headed to the shower video now.
Thanks for another great video. Floor looks beautiful.
Hey Tyler why didn't you use the tile leveling system like the last time video?
nice job on the floor, that little grout sealer is a handy
Nice work, with clear explanation I just subscribed
Man, dude! You make this look so easy.
