“Hurry on Home” es lo primero que escuchamos de nuestras admiradas Sleater-Kinney desde su álbum de 2015 "No Cities To Love". Tras años de trabajo su legado crece, las gigantes del rock’n’roll Carrie Brownstein (guitarra/voz), Corin Tucker (guitarra/voz) y Janet Weiss (batería) suenan igual de ontundentes que siempre. El nuevo tema ha sido producido por Annie Clark (St. Vincent) y es el adelanto de lo que proomete ser un nuevo disco. Sleater-Kinney también han anunciado una extensa gira norteamericana.
“Hurry On Home” tiene una instrumentación poderosa. Los tres iconos feministas continúan enfrentándose a nuevos retos fielkes a su ritmo trepidante. La letra ensalza la vulnerabilidad sin tapujos, y en ella la vocalista se describe como “imposible de ser querida, escuchada, mirada”. Sobre su nueva música, la banda comenta: “Creo que para Carrie y Corin fue liberador explorar una paleta sonora diferente”, cuenta Weiss. Brownstein añade: “en vez de simplemente ir al estudio para documentar lo que habíamos compuesto, fuimos a explorar y encontrar la esencia de algo. A cavar más profundo”. Estas palabras: “unlovable, unlistenable, unwatchable”aparecen en llamativos carteles de la banda distribuidos por distinto puntos en Nueva York anticipando la publicación de esta canción.

voice sounds very similar to Clem from Cherry Glazerr
Has anybody heard this album? Holy shit! MASTERPIECE. Better than Call The Doctor and even Dig Me Out. "Restless" is their most beautiful moment since "Quarter To Three" and equaled by "Broken", both of which are honest lyrical high points. St. Vincent makes the band's hooks even more prominent than John Goodmanson has done in the past. If anything by Sleater-Kinney is remembered forever, it's going to be this album!
