This is brutal. SK are often said to be the best (F) punk band. I'd say that they're simply the best band. Of any genre. No one writes songs with such interesting and thought provoking lyrics, no other band sounds like SK do. They're totally unique and oh, what a bloody shame that JW has left!!
Carrie's "you did nothing new" gives me chills here.

You don't see in the clip, but around 1:51 when the tech is resetting her mic. stand (after she had just thrown it to the ground), when he was still fixing it just before she was supposed to sing again, she shoved him out of the way -- hard. After the song she apologized to him with like a pleading gesture and a shrug. She was just so into the theatricality of it in the moment.

this is the tightest shit i've ever seen
I kick myself for not appreciating indie artists back then. I was here seeing Sleater Kinney perform, but I had no idea who they were and didn't enjoy independent music. I only listened to mainstream music. Same for St. Vincent. She performed at pitchfork in 2014, but I had no idea who she was. Now Sleater-Kinney and St. Vincent are in my top artists in my youtube music app. The only reason I attended pitchfork was because my friend had nobody to go with and didn't want to just go with his dad.
