Alux.com I'm new to this so please bear with me. I'm not wealthy (yet). I came from a family who not only hated wealthy people, they hated anyone who had even a LITTLE bit more than they had! If my dad had a Ford and our neighbor down the street had a Buick dad was not happy! I never understood why. They believed that wealthy people got that way by lying, cheating, stealing, and standing on the backs of the poor! I'm a retired auto mechanic and firetruck builder. 40 years of working 65 hour weeks (and sometimes a second job to put my son through college) AND being very frugal with my money AND being able to repair my own home and automobiles (for the most part) have allowed me to live a decent life. My house and 4 cars are now paid for. Most of my co-workers (most of which refused to work more than a 40 hour week) were extremely jealous to the point of being hostile that I was able to afford new cars and take my family to Disney World for vacations. Add to that the fact that many of them would show up to work drunk, stoned ,hungover, partied out, or not at all and you could see why they were not doing well. Factor in their shoddy work ethic and it becomes clear why many of them did not advance past floor worker. The ironic part is that these workers labeled me and other workers like me as ass kissers, brown-nosers, bootlickers ,and the worst of all derogatory titles company man! I have often said that I could write a book about the shenanigans I've seen in American industry and why we went from number one to where we are now. In fact, I've been seriously thinking about doing just that! I mean hey, if it's a bestseller I could join the ranks of the wealthy! Thoughts?------ (I'll probably never give up working on my own cars. I enjoy it too much!)

When you're rich, you don't ever really feel rich. You have this amazing feeling at first, but after a while, It becomes the norm. Every once in a while, you have a moment of gratitude but for the most part, you strive for growth. You yearn to do bigger and greater things. Comfort is nice, but it gets boring. What becomes more important than money is the impact you make, the memories you have, the people in your live, the live's you change, the influence you have, and MOST IMPORTANTLY --YOUR TIME and how you use it. We can be billionaires, but we can never buy more time. Live, Jump, Fear, Risk, Learn, Love, Lose, Change, Grow. Do it now, tomorrow's not promised.

I had an eventful childhood and spent part of it in a catholic orphanage. Part of me was embarrassed by this but I realize now it formed much of my character and outlook on life. Though not rich I have come far in life through hard work, treating people kind, and especially listening and learning from the experiences of others.
Reading has always been important to me. It’s funny that sometimes I don’t turn my television on for months at a time.
I have observed that often people resent seeing someone get a little ahead in life. Be it something as simple as getting caught up on debts or being happy to have a job you enjoy doing. Wherever you are at this moment in your life be grateful you are here.
Someone long ago told me “If money is your problem you are blessed because you haven’t got any problems”. Be thankful.

Friends definitely change, even at the lower income tiers. I have had friends of all ages my entire life. When I went from scraping by to making $50,000 a year at 20, even that step up changed the dynamic among my friends who were younger. I didn't have to budget out the $20 I spent on carnival food or save for a year to get a new video game. I was getting attention from thirsty high school THOTs in an era before THOT was even a term. On the other side of the age coin, I was being treated differently by my much older friends who thought I had just gotten lucky, never mind the fact I gave up my social life and busted my ass in my teens to be able to reap the rewards in my adult life. Over a decade later, after downshifting following a divorce, I got to where I had money to burn again and decided to do something nice by buying breakfast for my entire crew at work. It cost me a few hundred bucks, but I expected that. What I didn't expect was how it would backfire, by way of people who were living hand-to-mouth resenting the fact I could spend most of a paycheck on something so trivial. It was that moment I learned how important it is to either fly under the radar or fly too fast to be noticed.

    • @fryode
      @fryode 9 місяців тому

@@Valtk8910 I developed an interest in Electronics when I was very little, by way of my Grandpa, who used to repair TVs back in the days when they still used vacuum tubes. I learned how to solder when I was 8, got pretty good at it by age 9, and started fixing stuff like broken radio-controlled cars and other toys for people. Word traveled quickly. Embarrassment and shame will always be pain points for people, whether it's the kid who doesn't want to be scolded for breaking a toy or the grown-ass adult who drops their iPhone and cracks the screen. If you can solve those kinds of problems, you will NEVER go hungry. People will throw money at you to solve their problems for them (and wash their hands of the responsibility). Additionally, if you can develop a strong Do-It-Yourself ethic and skill set, your wallet won't end up on the other side of that fence, ie: buying take-out food because you don't know how to cook, paying/waiting for a tow truck because you can't change a tire, calling a plumber because you don't know how to unclog a sink/toilet. That kind of thing.

Yeah, it's called income inflation. The mortgage is more expensive, the cars are more expensive, hotels are more expensive, food is more expensive, so if you think "yeah man if I would have 1 billion dollars I would donate at least 900". Truth is, that's why most rich people don't donate their money. Cause the richer you are the greedier you get and you want more things. You don't want a boat, you want the fanciest yacht. You don't want a first class plane ticket, you want your own private jet. And you don't get rich by giving money to others.

well maybe not "giving" maybe "lending"
-lending money to other investors or business creators
-giving through your own charity or foundation to tax dodge lol
Some rich even get money back from the state due to having a perfect complex system related to tax and offshoring or charities

I lived in Bel-Air as an employee and everyone was invisible, behind high walls, gates or hedges and only out "on the street" in their very fast luxury cars, everyone they socialized with was as rich as they were and there was a private patrol for the entire enclave. That's actually very low profile and you'd understand that if you'd ever seen it.

I'm not even remotely what you call rich in my country, but i do made a small fortune from my first restaurant that i sold. I didn't even tell anyone but my spouse at the time, but everyone knew i had cashed in.. At first i was caught off-guard as stated in this video, people started acting much nicer and every girl seems to be instantly interested in me.
Then i realized money doesn't change you, money change people around you. Which is sad since if you were ever to fail or your life went downhill, you now were completely on your own (which i experienced).
Stay humble and never take things for granted peeps when you "make it".

    • @livnedX7
      @livnedX7 7 років тому +28

ronskiman23 Well in some cultures it is considered extremely impolite and selfish to not share ur whole fortune with your family, but i do agree with you. All i did with my newfound, albeit small fortune is pay off any debts my family have, fulfill some basic needs for them (some of them didn't have proper clothes), and give my biological parents their long overdue vacation. Which is a mistake on my part, should've just paid their debts and that's it.
I mean it's a nice gesture to give your parents a reward for raising you all those years, but it gives them a sense of over-entitlement and they WILL start to ask you to buy the things they always wanted. Thankfully i learnt how to say No and not feel too guilty about it.

everything changes when you have money. #1 people you thought would be happy for you will not be happy for you.. they will be jealous and try to take anything they can get from you. be prepared to cut some family members off as well, some feel like you owe them something for some reason, even if you give.. IT'LL NEVER BE ENOUGH. for the most part, I'll have it this way than to be broke... take the good with the bad 👍

I tell you what.I;d rather have money, and the comfort that comes with that anyday. Why would anyone rather work til your 80,cause you want people to treat you right? To hell with that, cause those that fucked their lives up? They are dying off,as I speak. When your old,can can jump in your car (or be driven) to a fun place to relax, get a room with a view or have room service then take a long nap after reading a great book? Life doesn't get any better than that!

Everyone around me has a poor money mind set and they just expect handouts while theyr chilling at home. And I'm grafting 7 days a weeks building my business and portfolio. I hate the people who saying things dragging me down. But now that I'm making it big they all want a piece of the money. These people are 2 faced that's why I dont bother with family or friends I'm an introvert and I'm happy that way. In my final year of high school, I moved from a small town to a big city. I found it difficult to adjust and make friends, but I had more money than the other kids in my class. Owe that to the excessive generosity shown by my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, who showered their love. I also had my bank account and savings early in life. Needless to say, many boys and girls hung around me in school and outside while I paid for their snacks, etc. They weren't even friends, didn't even make meaningful conversation with me, but I just had them there. A few of them used to visit my home.. and mostly talk to each other. On the inside, I was depressed and felt like I could scream and still these people wouldn't care. All that changed when I went to college. I'm not in touch with anybody from that school year. Nobody bothered to contact me. I learnt an important lesson somewhat early in life.

We were already happy before the company started to grow like crazy. I find that if you can find joy and satisfaction when you have nothing (which by no means meant settling for mediocre or average) you can bring that joy with you when your life takes off. We brought those life lessons with us and because of them we appreciate what we have and where we are headed. When people are born into money, there is no struggle only handouts. "I want, I want, I want" and when it's not attained tantrums ensue. I would not want to become well to do without struggle. Even with mistakes made, I know how to get it back. If it takes a while, no big deal because I have been down before and survived. People must remember that we as human beings Only Grow Through Adversity. Good times are nice but when's the last time you or anyone you know said that was So Much Fun and I get it Now? I can't think of ONE Time. I learned not to lean so far when making a turn on my bike (cuz I fell trying to turn tight) I learned not to put anything into a cup of boiling water for about 1 min, because the h2o will explode out of the cup. Yes, from Experience. So we learn from adversity and become stronger in spirit and character. This is why I don't complain about things going wrong.

Example: i would make a small buisness and employ people to clean up the my hometown. i would also buy houses, completely refurbish them and rent them out for a cheap price. i think its better to be poor before being rich because you value things more and have seen both sides of it. hope this inspires someone wealthy. Also one more thing. The world doesnt need more successful poeple. It needs more successful people to do the wright thing in making this world a better and safer place.

I'm a teacher from a private school and there are many kids who are from very wealthy families. I always tells them that I have been fortunate to have spent my money wisely growing up by doing most things that I have wanted to do, even going through a materialistic phase in my 20s. I always tell them that to me money is just comfort; the more I have, the more comfortable I can live my life.

I agree with a lot of things such as your circle of friends changing. I experienced moving into senior management with perks such as subsidized cars. While you may still keep your old acquaintances the "circle" you move in changes. The same applies to "holidays" or indeed their absence.Poor people cannot afford "holidays" by the way. Going to the nearby beach cannot be called "a holiday" IMHO.
However I dispute the notion that "rich people read more".Reading is sort of a habit you cultivate.Do you seriously think the filthy rich basketball player "reads a lot" (excluding sports magazines of course!), unless he cultivated a reading habit from childhood?

    Overall, I appreciate your research.
I think a form of a division needs to be made between the "real" rich and the "fake" ones. I can think of four businesses I know of where the owners spent money on big homes, trips, fancy cars for themselves, new cars for their kids, remodels of vacation homes...This literally ate the businesses alive over time, leaving employees with inadequate wages, food, working equipment..instead of building up a business that created a foundation. Several have collapsed and two are on the way.
If a person has a lifestyle of clothes, home, car, meals out, etc. that they are feeding, their income going to that, then they are potentially living a life of an illusion. Those things are not generating an income and expansion, but using up what they have.
Also, business is similar to a tool. What makes it harmful or helpful are the values of the person behind it. If on sound values, that is also a time when you might keep early friends, if their values are viable and still reflect your own.

As a Entrepreneur I say this list is very True especially #10 & #15. As company President im frugal. Wen I got wealthy what changed was my mentality on money; from making it then vs. now how can I LEGALLY keep the majority of it. Taxes r a nightmare! What's good is do have Freedom from certain consequences as business owner.
If I don't want to go to work I don't. If I decide to sleep in or be late then I am, no one can say a word! But can't do it with clients, and your decisions affects the lives and schedules of others so being mindful is necessary can't just do what u please though you're owner. I want my employees to have honesty, integrity, commitment, & discipline. I've learned I have to "be" those qualities to see those qualities. Some follow, some won't but leading by example works for me. Staff thinks I'm rich...to that I say RICH people's money works for them, I work for my money...HARD for it so I definitely don't feel rich, I feel overwhelmed most days if anything but still amazingly grateful & blessed.

  • @elk9414
    @elk9414 5 років тому

#1. One thing that is funny about having ample amounts of money is that people will tell you that you will change when you're rich but the truth is that, when you are loaded, other people suddenly change and want you to take them out to dinner, or "loan" them some money so they can start their own business and other such ways and means of mooching.
When people found out I had "made it" they seemed to find out suddenly and suddenly there were people I hadn't even thought about in years who were trying to reach me so they could get in on some good old fashioned mooching. Most of them wanted "loans" but failed to realize that I'm not in the banking business and they didn't show me anything in terms of ROI so I passed on nearly all of offers of mooching save for the couple that actually had something serious to offer.
It wasn't like loads of money just showed up in my bank accounts overnight but I did keep most of my businesses under wraps and wasn't in touch with a lot of former peers, friends or even family so when the word got out it was like a brush fire in Texas in August and it spread like you can imagine brush fires often spread. Just wait a couple weeks and somewhere out west will light up like it does every summer thanks to our wonderful national wild fire policy which Congress so diligently worked on. (Sarcasm for the slow crowd.)
One bit of wisdom I will share is to hide your wealth as best you can. and there are multiple considerations to that effect. There comes a point when this isn't possible if you're truly serious about building a business empire but, for most millionaires (not mega millionaires) and multi-millionaires it's easy enough to not appear to be loaded.
I know an old oil man in Texas who likes to wear overalls, dirty old boots and a dusty straw hat when he goes into town driving his dirty, banged up, older model truck. And only someone who's truly astute would ever guess correctly that he's absolutely loaded because he puts up a different front.
As he says, suits and fancy cars are for ass kissers and they make you a target.
#2. I do laugh inside when I see someone grabbing ice cream or soda at the grocery store or in line at one of the numerous cancer and heart attack stations found out and about. But I was well on my way into healthy living (long before I made any recognizable amount of money) when the so-called doctors told me I had cancer when I was 27.
And, by the way, I never got those prescriptions they gave me filled and I never went back to the doctors except after I healed myself to confirm my clean bill of health.
Remember kids, most doctors aren't in the health care business. They are in the disease management business because they only get paid when you're sick.
If I know what causes and cures cancer then why have the doctors neglected to tell you? Oh, that's right, they're scamming you.
#3. I disagree with #3. Not in terms of quality but in terms of perceived quality. I happen to believe that stupid people buy very expensive properties while smart people buy very expansive properties.
Let that creep and crawl and meander around your mind for a while if it fails to make sense immediately.
Just because you are loaded doesn't mean you have to flaunt it and just because you want a better quality of living hardly means it has to all that more expensive especially in terms of property taxes. You just have to be smart about it.
#4. I'll leave point #4 alone because, aside from fitness and health, it's pretty petty.
#5. I have a different take on vacations than what seems to be the prevailing idea. Never been to Disneyland, or similar theme parks, never stayed at a resort and generally dislike crowds and noisy places because that seems to be where the knuckleheads like to pop up.
My idea of a relaxing vacation isn't in a luxurious hotel suite. I'd rather pitch a tent and go hiking and get plenty of exercise and fresh air. I may stay in a suite one night or two but once you've seen one big city you've seen enough of that nonsense. If I wanted to sift through traffic congestion I would be one of the many weekday commuters spending far too much time sitting in traffic.
I prefer vacation destinations far away from the masses. So, yes, a private yacht is more expensive and 1,200 acres of rural countryside is more expensive. It comes at a price but, when you realize how to make it work, it's all literally paid for by someone else and the property is part of growing your net worth.
#6. Please don't get me started on taxes. But I'll throw this golden nugget out there for your mind to chew on. All forms of taxation are a scam. None of them are necessary in order to pay for government services.
And what really sucks is that the average ordinary person is paying a much higher percentage of your earnings in taxes than people like me. So not only is the average person getting scammed but they are getting royally screwed by the hallucination that all these taxes are necessary evils.
Much more on that note later and in another place.
#7. As you might expect, I don't drive a high end sports car. But I do have a fleet of armored SUV's and a security team of ex-military including a couple of ex-special forces operators because safety is paramount knowing that there are some very bitter losers out there. And that's just reality. The good news is that all of that is a tax-write off so I don't look at it as a pure expense.
#8. No need to beat a dead horse. You summed it up well.
#9. It's all true. Although I have to add that any truly solid asset and legal protection plan includes bulletproof ways to avoid 98% of all potential litigation and that any attorney worth their salt knows what I'm talking about even if you don't.
#10. I don't call it #Fartbook for no reason. Really? Are you going to tell me that the time you spend on social media has produced anything of legitimate value? I think I quit Fartbook three times before the fourth time became the charm. The real bonus to that is not just that I am not wasting time pretending to keep in touch with people but also that I get to simply walk away anytime someone is jibber jabbering about Fartbook or some other equally useless social media as if I don't have a care in the world. Freedom is liberating!
This doesn't mean that I don't have company accounts but those are managed by someone that is paid to manage them and the only social media I use is You Tube simply because there is some damn good content out there like Alux.
And no, they're not paying me to say that.
#11. I remember getting some sound advice once upon a time but it all started after I said "I was born poor, I'm still broke and I'll probably die broke and you can't take it with you and so money is of little interest to me." Some people would have just shrugged and walked away. But the man I said it to looked me in the eye and said "never do anything just for the money alone. Find something you truly enjoy doing and enjoy the heck out of it and make money while doing that thing."
Fast forward 20-something years and I will tell you this. among my companies, I own a pest solution company (that's different than your run of the mill pest control operations) and I would have never started that company if it were simply for the money alone. I started that business to make an impact because I was tired of the usual suspects (chemical companies) ripping people off over and over without a cheap and effective solution that didn't actually poison water supplies and increase disease rates.
Have I made damn good bank from that business? Yes I have but I didn't start that company just for the money. I started it because I like coming up with solutions and presenting solutions and business allows you to do that while also making damn good bank.
I could write a book or two on being a serial entrepreneur with a laundry list of companies that I didn't start simply because I wanted to become filthy rich. In fact, truth is, I personally still have a part of that guy in me from 20-something years ago in that I don't really give a flying duck fart about money personally.
I can live on brown rice and steamed vegetables for the rest of my life. I don't need the stuff so many people think you get when you are banking phenomenal bucks. But it's nice to be able to do other stuff while someone else drives or flies you around.
Perfectly honest truth, I wouldn't change any of the journey not even a single bit. Wealth didn't show up overnight. I was actually homeless once upon a time albeit very briefly because I got tired of living in my truck. But I learned all throughout the journey I've been on including even today. Life is short. And if I can give one piece of advice to everyone. Make the most of it.
#12. Quality relationship time and also the quality time by yourself. Honestly, other people can be a big distraction when you're working on a level that no one around you understands. So, yes, spending quality time with certain people is important. But equally important is the quality time you spend in solitude getting to know yourself in ways that many might not be able to imagine while working on goals that other people never even really dream about.
#13. I remember a cousin of mine coming over to my house some 20 years ago and he stood in front of one of my bookcases, for a bit, and then looked at me and asked "have you read all these books?" I said yes. Then he pulled one off at random and asked "what's this one about?" and I told him. He did that a couple more times until he was satisfied that I actually read them.
Then he asked me why I kept them so I told him that too. Turns out, he doesn't read. He watches TV though and he's nowhere near even being close to being a millionaire although that's chump change to me these days. TBC...

Apparently, there's a cut off for responding to You Tube posts, haha!
I don't read for entertainment. I find reality much more entertaining that what usually passes for entertainment anyway.
I mean who would think that millions upon millions of Americans are wasting their votes on politicians who are working in a bipartisan manner to bankrupt America with titanic debt without realizing that the voters are actually voting to bankrupt themselves? Truth is often much stranger than fiction could ever hope to be.
#14. Remember that thing about never doing anything purely for the money? Now go do your Tombstone Test. What do you want written on your tombstone? What do you want to be remembered for? What impact are you going to make in your lifetime? What about that legacy for your children and grand children?
Time is ticking and despite the mumbo jumbo about death never coming to pay you a visit you had better realize that death comes to us all and to get your crap all in one sack so you can hump it over the hills, valleys and peaks ahead. Looking back is for people who are too scared to look forward and get to it.
#15. I think it's incredibly stupid to waste your vote on either a Dummycrat or a Retardicant and that doing so is harmful to your prosperity and your freedom. Any questions? Because I've got a lot more material than that.
Saying no is one of the best benefits of being wealthy. You don't have to waste time with people or on tasks that are small fries.
#16. Yes. I've had sex at over 44,000 feet while going a little over 520 mph and she was looking out the window watching the lights on the ground for part of that. But I will also testify, and this is just a personal preference, that having sex in a hot tub with the jets on...whew!
So, if you don't ever get to the point that you can afford your very own private jet, and the accompanying pilots, that a hot tub ain't necessarily a bad option just so long as this isn't a community hot tub because, whether you realize it or not, Marxism doesn't work in reality and there could be some real nasties in that community hot tub that you may not want to roll the dice for.

The only thing I have in common with getting rich is that I was born from a wealthy country called Kuwait and a rich Kuwaiti dad with a loving/protective Moroccan mother. I had it so easy and good in my childhood being raised in a big house with 7 - 9 live in maids, a chef, guard, and chauffeurs I never had to lift a finger up until I was 17 I was fed up with the Islamic culture and was struggling with my sexuality and gender identity disorder wanting to be a girl. I decided to trick my rich dad in studying fashion design in San Francisco just so I can be free from sharia law. The plan was successful when I turned 21 staying the fourseasons hotel's deluxe room for 4 months instead of focusing on my studies I decided to experience democracy in San Francisco while spending a lot of thousands of dollars of my dad's money on room service and shopping at designer boutiques like Armani and Prada. All was good till I was cut off by my dad and ended up being in a relationship with a man similar to my father's age but not similar net worths... I was taken care of by my husband but deprived from my given luxury. I have freedom now but no money and being still the spoiled princess that I am now at age 25 wish that my dad would die so I can inherit his fortunes or win the Powerball jackpot to live a luxuries lifestyle in Beverly Hills. I am ready for the rich life just not intelligent enough to go get it because I am accustomed to taking handouts.

Here's one thing that should never change if anyone becomes rich. That would be their hearts. Sure, being wealthy might give you more privileges and luxuries people dream of but that doesn't mean you have to rub it in by acting like a hot shot, bragging about your money and material things, acting disdainful and superior to those who have less than you and of course, being greedy and keeping it all to yourself. Because you have lots of money, that should actually give you an opportunity to help those in need and make them happy too and just treat others like how you wanna be treated. Money doesn't make you bigger and better. All that matters is if you are a great person to those around you. Even if you're not rich, it's still good to be thankful that you at least have enough money to survive.

Until 4/5 years ago I lived normally, than my father got many promotions but I didn't realize many changes ( because my father covered it ) in the last 6/4 months I started to realize that 14/16 of the things in this video are happening in my life, now I'm starting to see many new changes in my life , probably the biggest one is my vision on life and my prospectives, probably one is to don't show off money at the University because I want to attract girls that really are intrested in me and not the ones that want other things and i don't watch social media anymore ( rarely to post photos and watch a few posts ) , I'm a bit disoriented by this new life but I think that my family is at least wealthy now .

most of those things one can do when poor. Such as spending more time with family sure you have the nagging at the back of your mind saying to do this but you take pride that despite your struggles you value family above anything.

Wow, pretty damn spot on. Except I've found that many friends changed before money as they were a hindrance or naysayer in the midst of your life change.
