I know three people who won something decent. My friend got 10k on a scratch $1 ticket, He kept the whole amount for a while and then used it plus more for an apartment. Another guy won something like 40k in lotto the main thing was he fixed the whole roof on his house which plagued his life with worry for years, i think he slowly spent the rest. A family friend who who won over 3 million, kept working, got his dream car, paid the house off, had a holiday with the wife, got her a car (both 2nd hand), invested the rest leaving a trust fund for the kids.
For me it was employment that grew with a job change. Went from 35K to 110K in 8 years. Continued investing and managing my portfolio actively selling out of tech in the tech bubble and into oil related in the pandemic. In 3 years the value has grown to six figures, and producing a return on cost yield of nearly 20%. Some oil stocks have matured and have been sold to make way for the more recent investments in stocks that are currently on sale with low P/E and good yields. Those may recover from being undervalued to repeat the investments of 2020. Compound growth has been fantastic. Changed the $100/month of my tech stock into the $3K/month in dividends now. Those are reinvested in the undervalued stock of the day to keep yield and growth high.
This advice is spot on. Most people will ignore the advice and every single one of them will regret it. It has been said that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. Well, nothing you buy will make you feel as good as having that money in the bank instead. You could live that next six months happier without spending a penny because even if you buy nothing you have the one thing you need more than anything. Peace of mind. Anything you feel you must have, you actually want because of how it will make you feel or you think it will make you feel. The secret to happiness is feeling that same way even without having things. The new wears off. It always wears off new shoes, it wears off new cars and new homes, even mansions and the new wears off of relationships and new anything. Happiness is about being content and peace of mind. Stuff is just stuff.
Indeed the truth! Guess it's not a secret anymore.lol I've stopped telling others the secret to everything you desire boils down to being happy. I suppose it seems too easy. Thanks for posting.
The Banks are also, up for scrutiny with large sums of money. We already know that you are going to have to pay taxes on your money in the Bank due to the government interest. The Banks are required to give that information to the government. Do some research and make a call to your local Bank and discuss disclosure policy between the Banks and the government. I noticed that every year except this Pandemic year, the Banks send out disclosure policy prior to taxes due.
Living in Saskatchewan (Canada) i can get that whenever i feel the need to get checked. Literally just the other day did a cardio test at the hospital because i felt short of breath a few days in a row, No cost.
@me: really? I went to a walk in doctor and was seen in 5 minutes and within a few days had my cardio test. Sometimes walk ins can be busy but if you call first you can find out how long and then call other clinics and be seen fairly quickly. At the hospitals, the emergency can take a while if there are others with worse conditions than your own, but again free, prescriptions may cost up front but you get reimbursed when you submit your annual taxes or if you have a plan through work they direct bill them first. I've never heard of anyone dying while waiting
You know that there are 300+ other countries in the world where people can be healthy without needing to be rich first? The US is the only place in the world where you have to be rich to see a doctor, lol. "American Dream".
When I inherited money from my Aunt, I gave 10% off the top to charity. I don't regret this. The mistake I made was giving a thousand dollars to each charity. That put me on their big spenders list. Next month they asked for another thousand. Since I didn't have any more aunts, I couldn't give that much ever again. I'm also now on the list of every charity in the world. The good side is that I have a lifetime supply of address labels, reusable bags, calendars, and lately socks. Thanks, Aunt Bertha. If I had it to do over again, I would set up a charity account that drew interest, and dole it out $25 at a time.
Even $25 will get you on their list. So if someone wants and needs a lot of mail donate . You only need to spend $25 once. But I am not getting any socks😢
Be careful about not doing the mortgage, especially a long one. Now your cash is tied up in a home and not available if you need it for something else. Investing in Roth IRA can be a good choice since they are funded with after tax dollars, your contributions can grow tax-free over time. When you withdraw money from your Roth IRA in retirement, you won’t have to pay tax on it, which will help you keep more of your hard-earned money. Compounding is the process of earning interest on your initial investment, as well as on the interest that investment earns. This means that over time, your investment can grow exponentially. So the earlier you start investing, the more time your investment has to grow through compounding.
Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.
I completely agree; I am 60 years old, recently retired, and have approximately over $2 million dollars in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor can only be neglected, not rejected. You and I share a similar vision. I'm expecting investments to explode. The Bank Collapses are the first indication that this is now, very much in reach and might happen sooner rather than later.
I am really grateful to you. I followed your advise with a little twist. When I inherited money from my parents, suddenly friends and relatives started asking for help, initially small help, then large sum of money. I was fed-up saying no to everyone. So, I sold my parents' home, paid up all my debts, got a job in another state, invested all money in dividend paying stocks, and living below my means on my salary. Here no one knows I have money and those who know me here think I am a middle class average working person. I don't spend dividends that I get, but rather reinvest all the dividends back into stocks never touching it.

@@0ni_x4 Dear its_meozdar. It's in the video, if you watch the whole video they request key words to be put in comments, such as 'balance' in this one.
Great video. I’ve watched several of such youtube videos. I believe now is a great time to diversify your portfolio and investing strategies. I’ve watched UA-cam videos on how to trade and invest in the market but haven't made any head start because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own hands
The best strategy to use in trading is to trade with a professional who understands the market quite well, that way maximum profit is guaranteed. I'll highly recommend Brenda Brown, she is my current trader and her strategies are working.
I'm amazed you mentioned Brenda Brown! She is the best and her strategies works like magic. I've been making over 80% of my investment weekly since I started investing with her trading service
This is not the first time I am hearing of Brenda Brown and her exploits, how she handles investments and generates good profits. She really made a good name for herself, but I have no idea how to reach her
When I was purchasing my first car, I said nothing to any of my co-workers, except my boss, because I had leave work sometimes. When I drove it for the first week, I parked at a spot where it would be a little challenging to see me. When people found out, they asked why I didn't tell them. They weren't my friends, and it wasn't necessary.
I had a friend that inherited a lot of money but blew through it in less then 3 years. I get he grew up dirt poor but the way he spent his money was like a 6 years old in a candy store. He was always buying things for his so called friends and family members. Whenever he would try to by me something I would simply say, "I was your friend before your inheritance and I'll be your friend no matter what without you buying me off". My best advice is that your true friends won't expect a handout every time you enter a room. They be the people that won't ask to borrow $50,000 even when they could truly need help. They will be the people that says things like, "Slow down your spending or you'll be broke in a year...invest your money and live off the interest". Unfortunately, when he didn't have anymore money to give those fake friends and money grubbing family members they began telling him just how stupid he was. They treated him so badly that it put him in a state of manic depression and he began using drugs. Eventually, he died of a drug overdose. So take their advice and keep your money for your future...prehaps plan for your wedding, plan for children, don't compete with others (the only one that cares about you and your future is those people that love you for who you are).
My son who is 16 now, used his stock fund at 14 that is started out for all the kids with 5,000. He bought under the family fiduciary. All went up huge and he turned £ 5k into £ 150k in just 2 years. This is how my parents set me up for adulthood too

Lottery tickets are a dumb move. You are wasting your limited hard earned money with massive no-luck of winning. Increase yourself! This is the true way to become wealthy in all ways. Fact.
In my opinion, a housing market crash is imminent due to the high number of individuals who purchased homes above the asking price despite the low interest rates. These buyers find themselves in precarious situations as housing prices decline, leaving them without any equity. If they become unable to afford their homes, foreclosure becomes a likely outcome. Even attempting to sell would not yield any profits. This scenario is expected to impact a significant number of people, particularly in light of the anticipated surge in layoffs and the rapid increase in the cost of living.
I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!
@@Blitcliffe After locating her, I composed an email and arranged a phone conversation. I'm optimistic that she will reply, and my goal is to conclude 2023 on a financially successful note.
I have a friend whose relative died and that will bequeathed a significant sum of money to my friend and one other person. That other person was not content in how the assets were being divided and felt entitled to all of it. No amount of negotiation worked, so this person decided to battle my friend out in court. He tried to warn this person that doing that would just drain the inheritance dry in legal fees, but that person did not care. And eventually, that was exactly what happened: the court battle ended on a moot point as the entire inheritance was spent on legal fees. Now they are both left ass out on that money, and it didn’t have to turn out that way. As far as greed goes, that’s a pretty epic level. Balance.

I've already decided what I would do it I get rich, first thing is hire an financial advisor. Imagining I win the lottery with a cash value of oh, say $97 Million(After Tax). Secure a solid 20% in investments(i.e. Bonds, stocks, etc), 20% in a savings account. Still leaves $50 million. Pay off debt, and purchase a home, an additional car(a nice one). Stock up on a few guns, and safety features, redecorate the home how I want to be comfortable. Get both my physical and Mental health checked, and managed. Will still leave me with $54 Million. After that, keep my job, but invest in higher learning, and certifications in my field (IT) I'm talking CompTIA certifications, Linux certifications, Microsoft etc. So I could be promoted to the job that I want, and the company I'm with the corporate HQ is at minimum a 2hr drive. I'm fine with that, especially with my dream of becoming a Cloud Certified Developer, and AI developer. Still leave me upwards of $52.8 Million, after the above. Afterwards, pay off my mothers debt, and give her money to move wherever she wants. Put $1 million in 5 savings accounts. 1 for my mom, 1 for my nephew, 1 for my cousin (Whose planning on joining the marines). None of which they will be told about. Still leaving $40 Million at minimum after taxes. After that, set a budget of 200K a year to spend. This leaves 200 years worth of finances I can work with if I stick to this budget. I've already picked everything out, and planned everything in detail.
This is a very smart plan my friend. Very detail. I wish you the very best! I'll copy your idea...very smart guy....you will go far in life. Good luck and be safe brother
Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! ..But He loves you... and HE NEEDS MONEY!
@Asim Malik Just a little advice from friendly online BATMAN. You need to change that mindset of you being unlucky enough to ever win the lottery! You become what you think you are; law of attraction is real ( well, kinda). You receive what you ask for ("ask and it shall be given unto you), it may take a while but it will happen solely cz you believe it will. Last thing, God put power like no other on our little red tongues ( what you say with ur mouth/mind is what you get). In other words, be positive and say what you mean and mean what you say. God put his spirit in us when he created us and thus how we are alive, therefore, what you say with your tongue and believe will happen for you!😉🙂🙏

#4 let the money sit for a while. This is my personal favorite. Unlike the FTX CEO, dollars can only be used one dollar at a time. I sold a home without a mortgage and sat on the money for two years while researching options. Eventually, it was divided up into different investment options. I’m happy with the results.
Buy income producing assets and start a living trust in secret. Your new best friend should be your CPA. Invest in yourself by becoming financially literate. This doesn't mean going to college it means finding a mentor who is already wealthy, and didn't inherit their money or win the lottery, and follow what they say. Being rich isn't easy and you will find that you will be the target of friends and family. Your worst enemies will become those closest to you. You will end up either having to abandon your previous life and make friends with other rich people, be alone, or spend your life being hated and sued by those around you. I'm speaking from personal experience.

Very wise, sound like my grandparents who built a comfortable life as Black people in the deep South with very limited education.
He did pretty good.
5% rule works. What ever spending he/she want to do should be budgeted and spent wisely
This one rule is sufficient to stay rich.
Smart guys.
Wise words! Salute.

If I had it to do over again, I would set up a charity account that drew interest, and dole it out $25 at a time.
yeah, the charity spends the donation on materials and postage trying to ask for more money, hounding you forever, which is why I had to stop giving
Charity starts at home - anything else is usually ridiculous 😅
Even $25 will get you on their list. So if someone wants and needs a lot of mail donate . You only need to spend $25 once. But I am not getting any socks😢
Paying off my debts and owning a home without amortgage and cars without payments is so relaxing its like a whole different life.

So, I sold my parents' home, paid up all my debts, got a job in another state, invested all money in dividend paying stocks, and living below my means on my salary. Humble.
"Shut your mouth". Good life advice; applicable to many situations.

Balance.
Sad for your friend... But definitely not for the greedy other person

I actually used to get so much anxiety around imagining if I won money. I felt shameful that I didn’t have a plan just in case I won the lottery or got a higher paying job. This video helped me to have a plan and take the edge off of my anxiety around money
Omg I know how you feel. I've been a stay at home mother for the past year... before that I worked my way through college at a restaurant and made 20k per year, after I got through college I made 45k. Now after being at home making 0, my S.O. makes around 40k I just signed on with a company making 100k+ I don't even know where to start with that much money 😱😱

update?
I've already decided what I would do it I get rich, first thing is hire an financial advisor.
Imagining I win the lottery with a cash value of oh, say $97 Million(After Tax).
Secure a solid 20% in investments(i.e. Bonds, stocks, etc), 20% in a savings account.
Still leaves $50 million.
Pay off debt, and purchase a home, an additional car(a nice one). Stock up on a few guns, and safety features, redecorate the home how I want to be comfortable.
Get both my physical and Mental health checked, and managed.
Will still leave me with $54 Million.
After that, keep my job, but invest in higher learning, and certifications in my field (IT)
I'm talking CompTIA certifications, Linux certifications, Microsoft etc.
Wow thats smart! But How will you give them money without them knowing? Wont they be suspicious if 1 mil shows in their account hahah

Great advice!!! I liked the one about having balance. That's what life is about.
My rule, remain humble, never flaunt, invest in yourself, and never lend money to people who can never pay back. Also, hire a CPA and attorney.

God put his spirit in us when he created us and thus how we are alive, therefore, what you say with your tongue and believe will happen for you!😉🙂🙏
Be your own financial advisor... teach yourself! It will pay off greatly!
I had money 3 times in my life.
All those advice are truly the bests ones you can hear.
Thank you ...I'm getting ready to receive! I know it's coming ⭐🥳

"Balance" My sister came into a small fortune not once but twice. First from Katrina, then from a major lawsuit. Broke all tides with the family. Moved, (and didn't tell anyone) letting her house go into foreclosure. Spending it as fast as she got it. Dressing up her bum boyfriend who hasn't had a job since I've met him. #4 let the money sit for a while.
This is my personal favorite. Unlike the FTX CEO, dollars can only be used one dollar at a time. I sold a home without a mortgage and sat on the money for two years while researching options. Eventually, it was divided up into different investment options. I’m happy with the results.
The way she said "Shut your mouth" lmao
Lol honestly I laughed so hard but she's right😂😂
Buy income producing assets and start a living trust in secret.
Dud 2000 Sounds hectic and sad!
''If I wasn't wealthy but wanted to be wealthy, the first thing I would do is hang around wealthy people.'' --- Aristotle Onassis. Also, take advice ONLY from extremely successful people. Do NOT take advice from the average Joe watching the Vikings vs Packers. Do not take advice from the guy who seems smart and is ''fun to talk to'' but doesn't have much money. No advice from Joe Average, douche nozzles or bar stool bull-shitters. If you go to a bar go to the NICE bars where SUCCESSFUL people hang out.

No keep your number & buy a new phone with a new number and turn the volume down completely. Then check it everyday for a whole year & just laugh your ass off everytime you see how much people never truly cared for you as much as you did for them! After they give up on reaching out to you, which should be about 6 to 12 months, then all the people that you know loved you should already have your new number. Problem solved.
