I agree! We completely underestimate and under recognize trauma. I work with children and we need an early childhood trauma diagnosis. We need better understanding and training.
    Thank you for this!

Wow, what a validating and reassuring presentation. Thank you so much. I have been studying psychology for 10 years and specifically my own traumas for 6 or so. Retraumatized in EMDR due to a newbie who truly didn’t understand the intricate depths of trauma and my sensitivities.. I’m tempted to even send her this video haha
I have yet to find a therapist that meets my preferences so I’ve been researching different ways and found you. I’m so glad I did & look forward to more videos,!

Upon observing survival strategies and strengthening/growing the Healthy 'I' .. will the the Healthy 'I' automatically make contact with split-off parts? .. or does a person need to make the effort towards this? .. or can the opportunity of contact also arise when traumas resurface in day-to-day life? Any thoughts on each of these three would be appreciated.

It is true that the more we understand and realise what of our daily activity is actually an avoidance of our deeper feelings, the stronger becomes our Healthy 'I'... but many of our survival strategies are very subtle, unconscious, and even seem like proper behaviour and attitudes. In my view we cannot fully understand our survival impulses without engaging in therapeutic work (The Intention Self-Encounter Method). It is also true that the stronger the Healthy I becomes, the more we are able to engage with the traumas, but again our survival instincts even so are so strong that I do not think we can do any of this in the end on our own, in other words without therapeutic work. It is a journey, and requires a strong commitment to oneself. I try to make it simple to understand, but I know it is not something we can do on our own... our instincts to avoid such deep emotional pain are too strong, and they had to be... in order for us to survive the early traumas in the first place.
