- This week we continue to discover Bocas del toro, surfing in big waves and hiking the beautiful island of Carenero. We hire a taxi with our friends and go to the north of Isla Colon, to Playa Bluff. The conditions there can be hectic, some of our other friends broke three boards when whey were there (I am a bit nervous). Kieran kills it in the surf, but hurts himself in the big waves...
Wanting to explore more of the islands nearby, we dingy over to the island of Carenero. Hearing that there is a lot of wildlife there, I am looking high and low determined to see something. After a while I realise I was living with one all along!
Warning! Many bad jokes in this one guys. But not to worry, Bocas is treating us well:)

Those noseeums May pollinate cacao but they also carry a flesh eating disease called leishmaniasis. We covered ourselves in coconut oil that was infused with lemongrass. It didn't really get rid of the noseeums but it made them go to someone else close by :-)

from the discovery channel "meet the sloths", the sloths come down from the trees to poop, that hug a tree and dump a sizable pile of pellety looking stuff so if you find poop at he bottom of a small diameter tree one will be in the area

Sorry but that place is *not* my kind of paradise: a place with so little variation that the houses can be built on poles in the water is just too mellow/boring in the long run. I need changes in wind, storm, rain, sun, waves, temperature, smells, ......
Thank you for your comment. Bocas is one place that has a lot of variations. Look at our upcoming videos as we show more of the archipelago. And do let us know if we can do anything better✨
@@SailingMerewether No no no,,, you are doing super-fine. I understand that you have found your paradise in Boca, it's just me who grew up in a different environment that need something different than a mellow sea and living conditions year round. I don't need my surroundings to be so extreme that the houses have to be bolted and wired down to withstand frequent gales and thunders, but it's like many ppl who grow up in the far north or south, it's the seasonal changes that makes life a life. And believe me, I grew up in north north Europe, but spent yrs and yrs living in tropical areas, some not far from Boca (in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize) or more extreme in the middle of the amazon. It was all for work, but in the long run - when I was done with my assignments - I was out and back to New England or Europe and how I really prefer my rugged sea- and landscapes.
Point is, we all have our preferences in life,,, some like them blonde, some like them tall and dark ...... and I totally like your channel.
